SET VB DVD BURN SPEED

Ken Cox

Recommended Posts

At the preset time v5vb15 recognizes the max burn speed of the specified burner/disk combination

will we ever be able to adjust this down

on my system,

one burner and disk combination will burn at 2x

the other burner will do 4x

when troubleshooting i would like to cut speed of the 4x to 2x

firmware is not available - both too old

AT THE PRESENT TIME YOU CANNOT LOWER THE SPEED TO MINIMUM

using vb, with one type of disk my older burner burns at 2x

my newer burner burns sane type of disk at 4x

i want to be able to set the speed on the newer burner at 2x and vb will not let me

Ken,

Hello! I just ran a quick test and VB doesn't seem to offer burn speeds below 4x (at least not on my PC) in the drop down list. On my DVD+RW, they are at 2.4x with no other options to change the speed.

Here is the drop-down list I see when I try to burn to a 8x DVD.

Hopefully Igor can explain further what options you have. Are you having problems with the ones burned at 4x?

Regards,

Fred

Ken,

VideoBuilder as any burning program asks DVD media for a list of possible speeds. If you can't choose some speed, it means that this particular DVD media, or DVD writer don't support this speed of burning.

when troubleshooting i would like to cut speed of the burner from 4x to 2x

the only thing that will change is the burner i am going to use

PLEASE READ THE THREAD AGAIN

Fred my system is totally different than yours so we are not talkng apples and apples

with nero, roxio and many more dvd burner programs on my system i can set the burn speed for the burner

with vb i cannot adj the speed - it selects the max speed for the combination i am using and that is not the proper way to test/trouble shoot

i do not dream up these scenarios - i would not post if i had not researched the situation and tried to solve it on my own
