  1. Ron Again thank you. While I am not a total beginner--every bit helps. Barbara
  2. Ron I must be the only person with this problem. I followed instructions up to your 2.13. When I tried the preview--my main picture came up immediately instead of waiting the 20 seconds. Any ideas? Barbara
  3. Al I am using MP3 but your idea of waiting to pass the grey bars might be the answer because the music plays well on the pictures without additions. I am using 1024x768 on the main photo and very small pictures--like a small jar as additions. I am doing a slide show of the Dead Sea Scrolls and how they were found--hence the jar. Barbara For some reason I click on Lin's examples and do not get anything. Only with Lin--sorry Lin. Barbara
  4. Another question for Igor on music. Why does my music stutter where I added objects to the main picture? Barbara
  5. It's wonderful. You are wonderful and it makes complete sense to me. I am going to redo the sequence I made in my ignorant state and now I really can see how to do it. Everyone should see your presentation. Many.many thanks. Barbara
  6. Thank you. I will look at it over the weekend. I too have been working hard and managed to get a few items to move around the slides. Thank you so much and I hope I can finally "get it". Barbara
  7. The basics are no problem. I have made many shows--it's the animation that confounds me. Barbara
  8. Dear BJC I have seen all the efforts by others to explain. I work better when there is a voice guiding my hand/eye. What I am attempting to do is make a history of the finding of the Dead Sea Scrolls. I have magnificent pictures but cannot get beyond showing the first scroll and adding the famous advertisement for the sale of 4 scrolls. Then I get stuck. I have spent days on trying to go one step further so whatever you can do will be of immense value to me and the Israel Museum, Jerusalem Barbara
  9. Your power to illustrate a technique is great. I wonder if you would do the same for explaining how to use PtE5 for someone who just doesn't get it? I have downloaded all the programs made by people who illustrate how to use 5 but they are so technical. I get part way through them and I find that nothing works. So please help out. I feel sure there must be others in my position. Barbara Bic Your explanations are so clear. Can you do the same for PTE 5 for people like myself who just don't "get it?" Barbara
  10. Dear Igor Have been away. What was the last version number and where can In access it! Sorry to be so stupid. Thanks for the great work. Barbara
  11. Kyoto in Autumn has some marvellous photographs. It almost satifies my desire to be there. But what I found most annoying was the jump from full screen size photos to small ones. Does anyone else find this technique spoils the beautiful presentation or am I just being too critical? But those autumn colours really are great. Barbara
  12. Ken- You are right but there are good reasons for this. One is that I haven't travelled for a while to any unusual places, second I stay away from sensitive areas in Jerusalem, but most important I am working on a Dead Sea Scroll archive for the Israel Museum. This works chains me to the computer and right now to video viewing. We are bulding a media centre for the Shrine of the Book and stage one is due for end May. The project will take 10 years! but will be a great contribution to the millions of people who flock to the Shrine. So I do work with pictures and digitize what I can plus the usual archival work necessary for placing on the national grid. My camera has been staring at me but in March will join my husband and me on a visit to Central America. At that time I shall visit the ruins and have a photographer's holiday. I really miss it but gladly follow the forum. P to E is a wonder and I eagerily watch all the shows in the hope of participating soon. I have even produced a few shows for the Israel Museum on specific topics for their use but they would be boring for the general audience on the forum. There--you know what is going on. Barb
  13. Ken--once a Canuk--always a Canuk. I take that as a compliment.
  14. [ Ken--thank you so much for the information. You always respond when people ask for help.
  15. Can someone tell me how to post my picture on the site? Barbara Liebgott
  16. As the wife of a man with prostate problems many years ago, the worst part was making a decision to have an op or not. Naturally some doctors say yes, others no--wait. I asked wait for what? Cancer? I made the decision and my husband is a very healthy 90 and still checking the PSA. Our friend who exhibited the same symptoms at the same time listened to the doctors who said wait. Today he is under care for cancer--at age 85. The man who waited is not well and the man who was brave enough to go ahead with the op is living an incredibly active life and looks like a man of 70. You can guess the moral of the story. Barbara
  17. What a wonderful presentation made all the better by great photos and nearly no fancy transitions. A pleasure for the eyes. Barbara
  18. Michel That seems a better idea than stones which all look alike owing to an old ruling from British Mandate period. Religious festivals are out since I am not allowed to film on a religious holiday but can do so on Channukah which coincides with Christmas--so that is an idea. Every building has a candelabra lit at night. Might make for an interesting sequence. You are correct it is hard for me to see what is beautiful because we have limits to where we can go especially with an obvious camera. Let me think about it from that perspective and try my hand at some abstract photos. As always Michel you come up with great ideas! Barbara
  19. Hmm. We do have plenty of stones! What about Stations of the Cross? Holy Sepulchre?etc. Can we add that to stones? Or is that overkill. Not meant as a pun either. Barbara
  20. Does living in the holyland in the city of Jerusalem count for anything in this string? What do you see as the start of a theme since we have no snow, no manger, lots of light (too bright) only cyprus trees, etc. Does anyone see an idea other than starting where it all began with the exception that Bethlehem is out of bounds Barbara
  21. Michel I see that everyone had the same interest I had in your mysterious third image. Thanks for the feedback and I surely shall try to see how to do it. At least I now know it was in Photoshop and knowing that makes life a lot easier in PTE. Again many thanks for a great presentation--weather or no weather! Barbara
  22. Hi Ron I do like using Photoshop for the third image but I remember all the discussions about using "timing" for that purpose. That's the information I am seeking but I do appreciate your response since I am very comfortable in Photoshop. I do hope Michel will answer my query when he gets a moment. Best Barbara Liebgott
  23. Perhaps Michel could give us a few pointers on how he managed the third image. that was what made the show so fascinating. Barbara Liebgott
  24. Michel A masterful work. Full of interesting shots and transitions. A show for my "keep" list. Thank you. Barbara
  25. How can we newbies see Skeleton and Orchestra? Barbara
