  1. Thanks, That explains it. Looking forward to the final beta. Curt
  2. I use the program mainly for my slideshow lectures on the cruiselines. Version 4 has worked great for me,. I am on stage and the computer and digtral projector are the front row of the audience. With a remote control I can control the slides back and forth. NOw, in version 5, the set up is still there under advanced (my normal set up for the mouse buttons is Next slide Previous slide) but it does not work. I have tried I have reinstalled etc but no luck. Any suggestions Curt
  3. All my slideshows are made to be projected through my Mitsubishi XD450 which has a 1024x768 resolution. I have made tens of thousands images standardized at that size with an 8 compression setting. For some time I have been thinking about the future and better projectors coming on the stream. This thread therfore really got me interested so from now on I will probably the images the 1280 size. Any comments on the 8 used for compression. Curt
  4. Some time ago I wrote about my new projector Mitsubishi XD450U. That I am very satisfied with. I frequently give lectures on cruiselines all with photographs and have until now used slides since I am very particular about colors being true. I have tried a number of projectors but never been satisfied until now. This one is good. I use the srgb setting and it shows the photos very well.It has a lot of lumens and in the ship's large dark theatre I use the lower power setting which means a lamp life of 5000 hours or so. The price I found very reasonable at around $2500. Curt Carnemark
  5. I had asked this same question some time ago. I lecture on Silversea and Crystal Cruises and all my lectures are slideshows. (My photography adding impact to the topic.) Until now I have used slides and have been in the market for a good projector for years not satisfied with any of the umpteen models found on ships. I have tested many machines and I finally found what I was looking for in my pricerange. It is a Mitsubishi XD450U with 2600 lumens and a contrast ratio of 2000. The cost around $2300, I use the Srgb option as far as color is concerned and I am just back from my first real experience. 30 days on the Silver Shadow in Latin American waters and I am very very pleased with the result. My presentations using P2e became much slicker, could put in music sequences and could change pictures easily as I went along. I use Nikon D1x and D2h and in each port if there was something that could better illustrate my talks on Latin American Politics, Economics and Social Issues. I could just drop them into the presentation. This is why I also support keeping the insertion and changing of slides as simple and possible and like Andrew in another post mentioned the transitions stay but the slide is what changes most of the time. Now working on the many photos I took on land for submission to my agencies and I also make a jpeg copy 1024x768 of most of them that I keep on my laptop for future use in my lectures Curt Carnemark
  6. For the last 20 years I have given lectures on cruiseships all of them illustrated with my photographs. I use one or two slideprojectors. Would love to convert my lectures into P2E format and have done a few experiments. Most of the projectors on the ships though are older and do not give any good colors, so I am thinking of buying one myself. I have recently encountered two acceptable but not great projectors one by Epson and one better than that one a Sanyo PLC-XU46. In order for me to make the switch I need somewhat better color than what those projectors were able to show. The auditorium is dark so I only need some 2000-2500 lumen. I have heard that Mistubishi have good projectors the xd300u or 350u but I have never had the opportunity to try one. Any suggestions ?????????????and of course portability is a must. Thanks Curt
