  1. Hi nobeefstu, Would dearly love just to put my Nikon's MOV file straight into PTE. At 87 I am not able to cart a tripod around and so all video is hand held. So I have to use software to fairly well stabilise the MOV files. As a result of your help I found that Sony Vegas not only does a good job but I can get an avi file that PTE will use. A bonus no shaky playback on PC/TV too. Cheers, Derek
  2. Hi there, Using the small show I tried to convert my Camera'S MOV file to an avi using Corel Video, but it's a no no - other formats yes. So used Sony Vegas, after stabilising, to make the avi file. PTE did not try to convert and resulting small show plays OK on PC/TV. So now know how to get a stabilised video into PTE - convuluted, but works. Again thanks for all help received. Cheers, Derek
  3. Hi Nobeefstu, Thanks for staying with me. Looking at the PTE Manual I thought I had to convert my MOV file to MPEG4. So did so using Corel Video Studio Pro X5 and then the Mercali Plugin. I then put into PTE 7.0.5 a blank slide, a jpeg, and then the MPEG4 file. Immediately PTE wanted to do a conversion which I found to be an avi file. Then I made a DVD using Video Builder which was shaky on my TV through my DVD Player. So started as you suggested. Blank pic, jpeg, original MOV file. PTE converted it. Made the DVD - no shake either on PC or TV. Thanks so much. However, I like to use Video Studio so as to use the Mercali plugin to stabilise my hand held videos. So instead of making a MPEG4 will try a coversion to an avi and will see how I go. Cheers, Derek Hi Ken, Downloaded Lin's shows - great. Animation brilliant - wish I was in the same league! Sorry have little time to read everything on the Forum - wish indeed I had. But Video has bugged me for some time in PTE. So came back to it recently and had a shaky 'Springtime' along with my own efforts using my MOV file and then the conversion as above. Looks as though current way of using my camera's MOV file solves the shakiness. Now to experiment with a conversion to avi using VS. Thanks for your time. Cheers, Derek
  4. Hi Ken, No help so far from them that might be able to help. What show has Lin put up - on Beachbrook Cottage? PTE Forum Search engine for Lin says you have to have 4 letters. Eric's show is it available to try on my newish PC? Cheers, Derek
  5. Hi there, Shaky on both TV and PC. Does this help? To Ken did Belarc help at all please? Cheers, Derek
  6. So maybe why my exe files play but not DVDs. Funnily enough I tried YouTube for Springtime and here it plays OK - maybe that's an exe file too? Cheers Derek
  7. Hi there again. Downloaded - Upper Teasdale Waterfalls and the video runs perfectly. So tried Springtime again and regretfully it is still jerky. Wonder where the difference lies? My videos also jerky. Cheers, Derek
  8. Hi there, PC chap still away. Had no success with some suggestions as I'm not qualified to understand what came up. However Belarc adiviser seems to work and I've attached their report - I think. Means nothing to me but I hope it does to someone - please! Shaky video in PTE's DVD after running Nercali to stop my shaky video too! Any further help gratefully received. Cheers, Derek Belarc Advisor Computer Profile.html
  9. Hi all, Sorry for delay, but other calls on my time. Thanks for further feed back on jerky playback. Unfortunately, the person who made my PC is on holiday. As soon as I can get my expert PC man to look at your suggestions I will of course come back for help. I'm a photographer and trying to get PTE to use my video, but so far unsuccessfully DVD wise. Cheers and thanks, Derek
  10. Hi there again, Whilst exe file with my video plays on my PC OK, the DVD made with videobuilder is jerky. So do I need a new card in my PC as suggested? Cheers, Derek
  11. Hi there, Thanks for thoughts on playback of 'Springtime.' Since my original post I downloaded 7.0.5 and had a look at the formats suggested for video use. My Nikon P7000 takes MOV files. PTE suggests MPEG-4-ASP. My Corel Video converted my MOV file to MPEGHD. Put that into PTE and it coverted it to an avi file. Made an exe file and video is spot on. So latest version of PTE seems to have solved my video jerkiness - great - so now can use video. But why problems with 'Springtime?' I wonder. Cheers and thanks again, Derek
  12. Hi there, Tried to watch 'Springtime' the example Igor put up, but found it was very jerky. Indeed it is the same with my video clips in so far I cannot yet use video in my PTE shows. Anybody solved how to get rid of jerky playback please? Cheers, Derek
  13. Just to add that I too had problems with the regn key when I put PTE on it. However, thanks to Lin Evans' post of ....keycopy.zip all is now well. Thanks Lin, Cheers, Derek
  14. Hi Peter, Went in to print too soon. On looking at my emails found key and put this in. Bingo. v7.3 with video file and made DVD. Video went in very quickly indeed into 7.3 - much quicker than ProShow's Producer I must say. Local UK AV man came to our Club and said that ProShow was rubbish. Speaking for myself I find PS very quick and easy to get movement than PTE in images. Now off to make a the same show in PS to compare the resulting DVDs. Cheers, Derek
  15. Hi Peter, Thanks for your interest. I know the implications of beta versions, but would still like to make a DVD of my trial show with a video in it to see for myself how video is implemented in PTE, but it comes up with I need to update. I did and paid £26 odd for it! Yet I still get a banner on my output saying it is not a paid up version. Any thoughts on how to get rid of the banner. Otherwise I'll have to stick with ProShow, but would like to get back to PTE. Cheers, Derek
