  1. Many thanks Ken. I have passed this info on to my dad.
  2. I am posting this on behalf of my father who is about to purchase a new pc. He has two queries a. how does he transfer his p2e software on to the new pc. b. he would prefer to retain his existing version of p2e (he thinks it is v4.1) rather than upgrade to the latest update...........he knows the latest version would offer him added flexibility, but feels at 78 years of age the familiarisation with the version he currently has is worth retainingagainst the learning curve of gertting to grips with v5. Any advice woulde be appreciated. Many thanks hopehigh
  3. Hi tom95521 if you want to vary the audio level during your presentation and know in advance which parts of your audio track you require to be quiet/ loud, i would suggest that you could use audio editing software. This will enable you to create a dedicated 'mix' of the piece of audio that will obviate the need to use volume controls on the pc/ speakers. It will also be much slicker and professional. You can do this in adobe audition/ cool edit. You may also be able to achieve the same effect in audacity (free to download) using fade in/ fade out. hopehigh
  4. Hi everyone, My original question was going to be 'does anyone know a way of batch processing images at 72 dpi/ 1024x768 pixels in photoshop.' this was because i was finding a massively disproportionate amount of the time i was allocating to preparing pte presentations was concerned with compressing files and readjusting image size. this proved particularly problematic with cropped images, where several attempts have to be made to ensure that the crop is consistent with the 1024/768 dimension. My frustration was that this was becoming incredibly tedious with presentations of 100 + images where this element would take far longer than planning the transitions ie the creative part. It now seems that this was a futile and needless exercise!! Having read previous thread is it then the case that we can by and large forget about 'image size' and just compress at '6' or 'save for the web' and if so does anyone know a way of doing this in batches?
  5. might just be worth converting the wav to an mp3 and importing back into pte.
  6. What type of file have you brought back into PTE after editing in Wavepad? It may not be recognised by PTE. Have you converted back to MP3?
  7. Fantastic!!! Downloaded the software and it did the job in minutes. Thanks Haddock you've saved me hours of work. What a brilliant piece of software. Oh and of course thanks to Jean Claude!
  8. Thanks ever so much for this, I'll give the new software a try.
  9. Hi Everyone, Ive really got the PTE bug and have been getting up at all kinds of unearthly hours to work on my first sequence proper. I often wonder whether other PTE ers are out there as I'm pondering transitions at 5 am in the morning. My problem is this; Ive just completed the sequence with soundtrack etc, but on reflection feel the sequence is too 'busy' at the start and i need to jetison 2 or 3 images. Is it possible to take for example image 8 and image 20 out without everything shifting backwards leaving the final image having to cover 20/30 seconds!!?? Or is it simply a case of having to effectively start a fresh sequence? Hoping you can help.
  10. On the contrary, I can make my text move about in the 'small, black window' however once I try and replicate in 'Preview' chaos ensues. Re Wilmslow GN Exhibition. One sequence was shown featuring a zooming facility. I recollect this was a programme called 'photex?' Is this an alternative to PTE?
  11. Hi Everybody Inspired by the Great Northern AV exhibition yesterday, I resolved to bring my recent PTE sequence up to speed, incorporating some of the wonderful techniques I observed. Alas I have fallen at the first fence! I have tried to convey movement in my opening credits by repeating the same image whilst gradually increasing the scale size of the text over 8 images. I put the images onto the timeline and faded them together very quickly. I was overjoyed when this appeared to work brilliantly in the small window, however as soon as i tried to watch this in full screen by utilising the preview function........ disaster.............the text doesnt increase in size and can start anywhere in the sequence! ive tried various combinations of transition time + shut everything else down on the computer to no avail. Could it be my files are too big? I saved them on 'quality 5' setting on photoshop and they are around 95kb. Hope you can help me with this wonderful but perplexing programme.
