  1. Hallo Igor, Problem when playing PtE slideshows, published as a .mp4 file, via SONY PlayStation3 and/or SONY flatscreen TV. During playback of the .mp4 file an intermittent “cracking” and “spocking” sound is heard. A PtE slideshow, made with PtE 8, and published as a .mp4 file, was put on USB-stick, entered in a PlayStation3 console, connected to a beamer gives NO problem. A similar PtE slideshow, made with PtE 9, and published as a .mp4 file, also put on USB-stick, entered in a PlayStation3 console, connected to a beamer gives the problem of intermittent “cracking” and “spocking” sound in the loudspeakers. The same configuration, connected to a SONY flatscreen TV gives the same problem. Entering the same USB-stick in a PANASONIC media player (PANASONIC DMPBDT 180 model), connected to a beamer or the same SONY flatscreen TV gives NO problem (clear sound). Even a recent PtE slideshow, made with PtE 10 beta 17, and published as a .mp4 file, was put on USB-stick and directly connected via the USB-input of the SONY flatscreen TV gives the “cracking” sound problem. If we look at the dialog box Creating HD video for PC and Mac (via the menu Publish > HD video…) in PtE 8 we can read: ”Creating a video file (in H.264 format) for viewing a slideshow on PC, Mac, and PlayStation 3.” Indeed, we have no problem with .mp4 files, made with PtE 8. In PtE 9 we can read: ”Creating a video file (in H.264 format) for PC, Mac, and Xbox.” Playstation 3 (or 4) is no longer mentioned. Is it possible that the video codec in recent PtE releases is not a PS3 or PS4 compatible codec? According to the PlayStation support website, ”PS4 only supports playing MP4 files encoded with H.264/MPEG-4 AVC High Profile (AAC LC)”.
