  1. Michel Many congratulations on another excellent show. Beautiful photographs combined with a wonderful soundtrack. One of the best shows I have seen for a long time! Just one thing was the show ment to close after the last side or just stay on screen? Thanks Chris
  2. Hi Al Thanks for your helpful comments re the show and your kind words on my photography. I will re work the show and of course let you all know when a final cut is ready. Thanks again Chris
  3. Hi Michel Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment on my work in progress. I feel sometimes you can be just to close to your own work and need the input of others to help. You have just done this for me, I will re look at the order of slides. I was trying to keep the types of cats together but with a mix of vertical & horizontal shots it was never going to be easy. I think I need a re edit!!!! Hello Rodger Thanks for your input, I was pleased with the music too. It never occured to me about the start up screen with a button to launch the show. Good tip thanks! The show was never meant to be educational, I was just trying to keep the breeds together so that those that did not know which breed was which would do so! I have never been a fan of multiple images on screen, I always find it distracting, each to their own!! I will turn down the opacity on the copyright image, it’s not just for those that print off other peoples images, and I agree the quality would be poor. But there are wildlife artists out there who can and do work from a screen image. Just protecting my hard work. Thanks again Michel & Rodger for your time Chris
  4. Hello all I have been working on this show using P2E ver 4.3 beta 10 over the weekend. I have tried new things (for me) in mixing a couple of tracks together, adding silence etc, all pretty basic I know but new to me! and I have been using some of the new features in P2E In time I would like to add/change some of the photos with more of the Black & Clouded Leopard and Jaguar plus more tigers and other cats I have yet to photograph. Just a question of time and money!!! If you want to download the show its at http://www.lace-bobbins.co.uk/images/cats.zip The file is 26.5mb and runs for about 10mins I would like to hear your comments on the show, is it too long? to many images? what do you think of the photography etc and any suggestions you might have. Thanks for your time Chris
  5. Hi Mike & Chuck Thanks for your help, I will give your suggestions a try. Chris
  6. Hi I am working on my next show and I am trying to achieve an effect where at the end of the show I have an image on screen and then the text is pushed up from the bottom of the screen over the top of the last image which would still be visible with the text overlaid. I have made a 1024 x 768px image in PS6 with a transparent background and the text I want. I have tried saving this as gif with the transparent box ticked. When I bring the file into P2E it has a white background. I was able to do this for my copyright logo which appears on screen all the time, just a little wording with transparent background in the bottom left screen, why can't I do it with a big image? What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help me? Thanks Chris
  7. Hi Alex I downloaded your four shows, I have to save they were very good and made me smile each time I saw the 2 cats!!!!! You have a very good eye for a photograph, I enjoyed looking at your images and particularly liked the camel shadows, but they were all good. Thanks for sharing Chris
  8. Correction www.calabashmusic.com is not royalty free, I just used it to get inspiration! Chris
  9. Jeanie As a newbie myself, what I did was to try and think what style of music would go with my images. as my show was on wildlife in Africa, I just did a search on google for royalty free music logged on to the sites mentioned below and searched for Tanzanian artists or anything to do with Africa and just listened to loads of clips. I then decided on the one I liked and just kept experimenting with the timeline and moving slides around and around until I was happy. It's not easy but I am sure you will know when you have found the right piece. The two web sites I used were http://www.shockwave-sound.com & http://www.calabashmusic.com Hope this helps Chris
  10. Hi Ken & Ron Thanks for your kind remarks. Ken: I am using ver 4.2 The Flicker problem, I read some posts on this. It does seem to happen when you change from a dark image to a light one, and was one of the reasons I put in a few blank coloured frames in the show. It also seems to happen when resources are running low on your PC. I use a AMD athlon xp 1800 with 768mb ram. But as I am still new to P2E there may well be other factors that I am not clued up on. I would like to hear from anyone who can add to this. I left the settings in the effects section set at 60 and did not tick the own thickness of line box (I was not sure what it did!) As for the positioning of the animals, that goes down to the BEST guide/driver in Tanzania (in my opinion, and maybe God had a hand in it as well) A man called Yuda, who has been a guide for 20 years (17 with the same company) He is a skilled photographer and consequently positioned us correctly, he has immense knowledge of the wildlife and there habits and seemed to be able to spot cheetah from the slightest spot on the horizon whilst driving safely. And talking of his driving, we kept going while all around us others were stuck! The more I think of it I would like to dedicate this show to him. My personal favorite show at the moment is "Vie Secrete" by Michel Auge I just keep watching it over and over trying to work out how he made some of the transition! Must go, Chris
  11. David Many thanks for your comments, I must say I am pleased with how the show looks. The music was a real find and really helps make the show. I think I will re look at the transitions with some of the coloured blank pages. A little background on the equipment I used, I had 2 Nikon D100 dslrs with Nikon f2.8 70-200mm AFS-VR, Nikon f2.8 300mm AFS and used Nikon 1.4 & 2 times converters. All images were shot raw and saved to Flashtrax. The only cropping was to downsize to 1024 x 768 using the maximum area of the original that I could. It was my first safari, organised by www.wildarena.com (here in the UK) there were only 4 of us (all photographers, non pro!) plus the tour leader, We went to Arusha, Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Tarangire National parks all in Northern Tanzania. We were out most days from 6am-6.30pm for 16 days. And got real close to the animals it was so nice to be there on their terms!!!! We saw 40 different mammals (we saw the big 5 or 6 if you inclued Cheetah in a day and a half) and 200+ different birds. I plan to go back real soon! (well as soon as I can save up again) You asked about the effect near the beginning and at the end of the show. I have a black frame 1024 x 768 with some wording on the, the next slide (black and white tree) it has a 3 second fade up with the mosaic section set at 1000 x 1000 x 25, this then fades up with the same image but in colour and then fading up again with the same image but with stronger colour. The same thing is at the end of the show but in reverse. I hope that makes sense! I also forgot to tell Patrick (d67) that I did allow control of the show, so you can left click the mouse button to go back one slide and right click to pause! Thanks again Chris
  12. Patrick Thank you for your nice comments, Your Enlgish is excellent, better than my French Chris
  13. Hi Ken Thanks for the message, I also tried and got the same message via the cottage. I tried to re send the info to the cottage and I emailed them to tell of the problem Direct link http://www.lace-bobbins.co.uk/tanzania%20short.zip I just tried again now and it was working for me. Thanks Chris
