  1. Suffolk Rivers & Estauries

    I have just put my latest presentation on Beechbrook showing some of the rivers and estuaries plus the boats and other nautical items around the area that I live in Suffolk. I have tried to keep it short because I have noticed that in the past some of the presentations I have done do seem to be rather long. I do hope it is enjoyed by those that watch it, and will be interest in any comments. One thing I have done this time is to add titles to some of the images but on reflection feel it might have degraded the show.

    I like your pictures very much.

    Also I like your camera work.

    One restriction: IMHO the slide time of pictures without motion is too long.

    Its a thing , which I often study on slideshows.

    I thing, in the seventies and eighties long times of views were usual, but today we become accustomed to short filmcuts.

  5. Shadows for objects

    In the next beta 9 you'll see option to show soft shadows for objects - images and rectangles.

    With many options (like in Photoshop, PixBuilder Studio or Video Builder).

    (And real-time soft shadows for text objects in beta 9 or 10)

    Also shadow will keep direction (angle of projection) if you rotate object. It adds impression of a deep of space.

    I tried GrownCut Mask with PhotoImpact 10.

    In the help-file I found this Information:

    GML GrowCut Mask and GML GrowCut Mask Extract works under Adobe® Photoshop® program family, as well as under every program, which supports Adobe Photoshop filter plugins (Paint Shop Pro, IrfanView, etc.).

    It seems, that it does not work with PhotoImpact10.

    Extracting of objekts worth well within the program, but if I klick finish, I get only a black and white picture (see test.jpg).

    Any ideas?

    Perhaps I found a solution or a work arround for PhotoImpact.

    1. Hold basis-picture (dont know, which is the correct translation)

    2. Select all

    2. Extracting Objekt with GrowCut Mask

    3. Clicking finish > there will be a black and white picture

    4. magic selection on white part of the picture

    5. delete selection

    6. now you have the objekt and can copy it in the clipboard.

    See result.

  11. PicturesToExe Deluxe v5.00 beta #7

    I exactly know there is some real problem in our VOB files but we're still trying to find DVD player where we will able to reproduce this problem. Today we visited five shops. We tested:

    Sony, Samsung, BBK, Pioneer, LG, Sharp, Toshiba, Akai, ZZX, Scott, Rolsen, Panasonic, Atlanta, JVC, Huynday, Vitek and several noname players.

    and all worked fine.

    My DVDPlayer with Problems is the LG DV9900.

    Menue does not show all shows.

    First show plays well.

    Next show stops after few moments.

    And there is no more audio.

    When I eject the DVD and inject it again, show starts well at the point it stopped.

    Creating ISO and burning with Nero6 works well.

    It's a good work arroud until burning with DVD Builder will works fine.

    Hi Igor,

    you promised me not too much.

    Image quality of DVD Output is very, very good.

    Sharp, no jaggies, only a few flimmering on hard contrast edges (b/W pictures).

    Thank you very much for optimising the video-output.

    With DVD-Builder, I have a problem.

    I used DVD+RW.

    First show always playes wunderful.

    But the second and each other show stops after a few moments.

    There is also no sound.

    If a eject the DVD and put it again in the player, this show starts correct.

    The same problem, when after the end of a show, the following starts.

  23. No Videocodec "PicturesToExe"

    Try to run PicturesToExe v4.48 on this PC, open some project and then press "Video" button in main window of PicturesToExe. Close all running PicturesToExe. And try again with PicturesToExe v5.00 beta. Will it work now?

    p.s. we plan to vastly improve all these moments in the nearest future.

    If you tried reinstalling pte with administrator privileges and still have no option to use the pte video codec, I am guessing you have a bigger problem than just missing the the ptev.dll. I think there is at least one registry entry that references the ptevideo.dll. I would email support@wnsoft.com if you need an answer soon.

    It is an interesting problem, and I hope you post the solution when you have it working.

  25. No Videocodec "PicturesToExe"

    You need this file in XP to act as the codec for PTE. If it's missing then that's probably why it's not working.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ptevideo.dll

    I have created a few ISO images using PTEv5b5 and MovieFactory 4 and they played fine. Not sure why you are unable to create an ISO image file.

    There is definitly no ptevideo.dll in my system32-folder.

    Video-Encoding does not work correctly on my pc.

    It seems, that PTE uses another codec, which makes defect films.

    On my second PC it works fine and there is a PicturesToExe entry in the codec-List.

    It is not possible to copy the ptevideo.dll-file from one to the other pc.
