  1. Ouch! Way too hard. I'm not too sharp with P2E so I have no idea what you were talking about. I thought there might be an easier way than setting a long time for each slide and a short time for the selected one. I think that's much easier. Otherwise 5.0 does it easily. Maybe you can help me decide whether to save all my shows as 5.0 (irreversable) or stick with 4.48. I only use it for manual shows these days. I use ProShow Producer for music shows/DVDs
  2. In 4.48 I have a manually advanced slide show. I'd like to have a few slides that I want to automatically blend into the next slide after a few seconds. I can do it by setting all slides to a very long time, then set the few auito advanced slides to 4 seconds. Is there a better way? (I'm not sure I want to upgrade to 5.0, so please explain the 4.48 method)
  3. On version 4.48, is there a way to use manual advance, but then when I advance to a certain slide, have it auto advance to the next slide after some seconds? I'm able to do it by setting the time on all slides for a LONG time, then shorten the time on that one slide. Is there a better way? On version 5.0, how do you have all slides advance after 4 seconds or whatever. I can't seem to find how to do that simple thing. I'm still not sure I want to upgrade to 5.0... It seems to be more complicated for simple slide shows. Eae of use and simplicity was always the beauty of P2E.
  4. I use P2E for our teaching program, and to let customers choose their images on a CD. But I can't find out how to stp the auti advance from changing to the next slide. I could put a long display time, but is there a better way?
  5. I think the last one I had was V4.46. Shows made (or updated) in Version 5 aren't backward compatible to earlier versions. I have 1200 slides that are not in numerical sequence, so it would take days to redo the slide show. I'm stuck.
  6. My particular problem with version 5 is that I make slide shows that are manually advanced for clients to view their images. V5 beta doesn't permit that, nor will it place the forward/backward/print icons. I also use those. OK, no problem... just use an old 4.x version, right? OK, the problem with that is that my show is 1200 slides long, and I didn't save any old version of the pte file. And a V5 pte isn't backward compatible to 4.x So I'm stuck until the new one is out. My faluth for not saving an old pte version, but it's never been an issue until now. I really like PTE. I also have ProShow Producer and PTE is SO much easier. But let's just say I'm ANXIOULSY awaiting V5 with all features enabled.
  7. Oh. Thanks. I'm eagerly anticipating the finished version. The new DVD capabilities are excellent.
  8. Shows that I want to manually advance are now only working with a certain time depending on how many seconds is designated. How do i get it to go back to manual, and show the navigation bars?
  9. I'd like to be able to drop in a video clip into a show, just as we can drop in a picture. Fuzzy
  10. The words part is part of what I'm referring to. I know the instrumental stuff is OK, because I have lots of it. I visited a friend who has broadband, and I sat there all day going through some sites like RoyaltyFreeMusic.com, MusicBakery.com, and others. I made notes of what I could use, and bought it at home. What I'm referring to is music people know and have an emotional connection with. fuz
  11. My point is not that the music is bad, just that it isn't what the subjects I photograph listen to. It won't bring them to tears. I couldn't download the music you recommended because I have a dial-up (can't get anything faster where i live). I want to use commercial music because we know and feel it. If copyright free (or royaltee free, whatever it's called) were so good, it would be popular. It can't be specific enough for our purposes, because it has to be generic. And then it sounds too mechanical... not enough heart. Sorry if I step on toes, but that's how I feel. fuzy
  12. Thanks but I DO have LOTS of copyright fee music. Can we talk? It all sucks! There's a reason real music sells to real people and royalty free music only sells to us. I don't mean to sound flippant or nasty. I'm just looking for a feature like Kai's used to have... where it directed the computer to go to CD for the music. fuz
  13. How about a P2E LE version whererby we put the show together WITHOUT music, then hand the CD to the client, who then puts it in their PC, and the ONLY screen that comes up is a box that promts the user to insert their (purchased) CD and pick the track? Maybe it could designed to work once. Once it's done, that dialog box would never be seen agin, and the user would have that slide show permanently. That way, we are free of copyright issues, and the client gets their slide show with their music. As long as they view the show themselves (who are we to say who else might see it?), I think it should be relatively legal. I use copyright-free music, because I prefer to be legal. But as we all know, it basically sucks. Fuzzy
  14. Thanks for all the responses. Sorry, I don't undertsand anything about the Flash video exe thing. Is that within P2E? Is it something I have to download somewhere? Is it in a PC? I do have ProShow Gold and it will run video clips. I created a PSG exe show just for that video, so I don't have to open the particular video player. It works OK, but after the video is finished, I have to reopen P2E since PSG won't allow me to go back to any application. Fuzzy (Yeah we spoke at texas two weeks ago.)
  15. Sorry, no dice. P2E isn't seeing the movie files. fuz
  16. Is there a way to insert a video clip in between slides? I use P2E for our speaking programs, and would like an occasional video clip to play. Fuzzy
  17. Thanks for the replies. I'm sorry but this is looking way too complicated for me. I don't understand most of this stuff, and I don't learn very well from reading posts with terms I have no clue about. I was hoping there would be a program that would do it easily. I'll just put this idea on hold until I can do it with someone who can walk me though it in-person. Thanks again for all your help. Fuzzy
  18. Thanks so much for responding. The problem is I am almost completely in the dark regarding video. I anticipate about 10-20 DVD burns at various times during a year, or even one at a time. I use DVD+R discs for data storage, but have never created a DVD video. What I think I should do is purchase the Ulead software to burn the DVD so I can do as you suggested.... experiment. I've held off because of all the posts here saying that the newest versions of Ulead haven't been working. There's nothing more frustrating than to buy software that is supposed to do the job, and then it doesn't. It's not like we can take it back to the store!!! I'm not clear on chapters, and scenes, and have no idea what you mean by authoring, and root menu. Let me ask you this... should I buy Ulead DVD Factory 3? Will it work correctly? Does the specific DVD burner have any effect on the success of the burn? (I have a DEll with an NEC 1100A that burns DVD+R discs). Thank you for your help. Fuzzy
  19. I have a 760 slide show (a teaching program), with voiceovers that connect to each slide. It's a manual advance show, but I assume I'll have to make it an automatically advancing show and time each slide to the length of the voiceover file. 1) With 1024x768 jpgs and mp3 files, it's a 490 Meg pte slide show. I haven't timed it exactly, but with all the voiceovers, it could come to about three hours. Will this fit on a DVD? 2) I have no clue on the whole DVD situation, and have enough headaches in my life. Is there anyone whom I could send this to and could make a DVD for me? (Of course I'd pay for this service). 3) This is an education program for photographers. I don't know if it should be created in + or - format. Should it be done in both so that there won't be any issues about compatibility? TIA Fuzzy Duenkel
  20. I'm sorry, I dodn't know what you mean by the "sound line". I have an audio voiceover accompying each slide. There are 750 slides, and 750 audio files that are linked to each slide. I'm afraid I will have to re-direct each slide to look for the appropriate audio files. fuzzy
  21. A computer tech misspelled my name when setting up the administrator on my old computer. I made a slide show on that computer with 750 slides... each with a corresponding mp3 sound file linked to them. Now I have a new computer, and I spelled my name correctly on my new computer. But because the old slide show looks for the sound file with my misspleed name in the directory location, the new one won't work. I'd have to retype the location of all 750 slides. Ouch! Is there an easier way? Also, when loading a new slide, I have to drag the slide my hand, up through the all the slides. If the slide is number 13, for example, it first adds it to the bottom, and I have to drag that slide through all 737 slides! Is there a quicker way? fuzzy
  22. Yes, I used music synch. And come to think of it I use manual advance on the one that did work. Thanks. So should I start the program with an opening slide that allows them to select the slide show or email? Or is there a better way? fuz BTW, I don't know what a "Time-line" is.
  23. I made a show where the last slide stays on the screen, then added my email in the Object Editor, and in Properties selected the "write email" option. I did this on a two slide test and all was OK, but on my loner 50 slide show, I can't get it to work. What could I be doing wrong? fuzzy
