  1. Yes, the files are in a single folder. I'm sorry, I don't understand post number 10. Don't know if this matters, but I'm on P2E 7 I tried 8, but it took forever to load the program ($3000+ slides).
  2. I really like the bold letters. It not only helps to know what to delete, but what I've not used yet. Often I drop images in the folder, then later add those to the show. The thin lettering clues me in that they aren't in the show.
  3. BTW, if necessary I could save my original pte on my main coimputer and write down the changes I make at the hotel... but that could be an enormous PITA with some of the massive changes I make when at the hotel.
  4. BTW, I tried swapping folders of zipped files and the actual jpgs, and the bold listing stayed the same. So apparently it's the pte file that I'm having trouble with. (Sorry if this is elementary... but I'm not too sharp on this stuff. I've used P2E since the first or second version, but I don't dig into the inner workings.)
  5. That's an interesting thought. I wonder... if you make a zip, then unzip them, is there loss involved? Keep in mind I might do this often.
  6. Thanks for trying to help. But if I understand you correctly, I have saved the show but the bold font did not return.
  7. I use P2E for manually advanced programs for speaking presentations. I sometimes pass the pte and image files back and forth between various computers. For example, I design a show for a speaking engagment on my main computer, then refine it on my laptop in the hotel room. When I do this, or later copy that refined pte and files back to my main computer, the bold listing for the active images goes away. I like to have that feature because I delete unused files from the folder. How can I get P2E to once again recognize which files are being used by showing them in bold?
  8. I'm with you. I can;t figure out how to do anything anymore. P2E used to be EASY! I simply want to sync the show to end with the music. Sometimes music has a few seconds of nothing, and I want the show to stop before that. I've been working on that for an hour now. Can't figure it out.

  9. P2E doesn't need video clips. Still image slide shows are so nice. And movies don't need sound. Silent movies are just fine. And besides, video isn't necessary at all. Super 8mm movie film works too. And no one will ever need more than 640K of ram. Shall I go on?
  10. I too would like the option to add video clips. We use P2E for a speaking program. So this is what I had to do... I made exe files of my movie clips with ProShow, then made a blank slide in P2E with a link that opens that exe of the video clip. It's a clumsy method and messy appearance, but at least it's a workaround for now. Why don't I just use ProShow instead of P2E? While ProShow can be used for manual advance, it's not designed for that. It makes a "cut" (instantaneous) transistion. I prefer a slower transistion (150ms).
  11. EXCELLENT info! Thanks. From your test, I can see that the best solution is just to set an expiration date for anything we send out. It's easy and simple. I was hoping the clock would start when it's first run on a computer. But that's OK. I'll just do the expiration date. Thanks again. fuz
  12. Wow! Excellent replies everyone. Thanks. That helps. I'll keep watching your tests.
  13. Thanks everyone. Unfortunately, it looks like no one here knows the answer to my original questions. How can I contact the administrator to find out the answers? (I'm not a frequent member here.)
  14. I could set a date for it to expire, but I was wondering what the exact meaning of the "expire after" is. For example, I could set a 7 day expiration so that the time spent in transit getting mailed to the client wouldn't be a factor. But that relies on it's activation starting when the client puts it in their machine. That's why I was wondering when the "clock" starts.
  15. With the "Expire after" feature... does the show stop working: 1) after the first time it was run, including on my computer before I send it through the mail to a client) 2) on the client's computer after the first time it was run on a the client's computer 3) after the time it was created on my computer TIA
  16. Thanks for adding the new features! Wow! I tried it, and I see that any existing, timed slides will need to be reprogrammed. But I can deal with that. I use P2E for our speaking program with 1300 slides, but only a few are timed. fuzzy
  17. OK, so we got back the old method of newly added slides not advancing slides automatically. But how do we get some slides to advance automatically if we WANT them to? Shouldn't there be that option in the customize slide drop-down menu?

  19. Not sure if this I understand. You can do this now... select all slides and customize them all at one time to "Stop after this slide". What I meant was that any NEW added slides default to that. It used to in older versions. Now the default is "No actions after this slide". I just want to change the default for new slides. Just so I understand, the Wait for a key press WILL be the default if we choose it? otherwise I'd like to simply be able to choose "Stop after this slide" as the default.
  20. We probably won't teach in Texas for a long time. We don't like to do the same school more than twice, and we already did that. Anyway, I tried doing a non-full screen 1024x768 size for the P2E show without a border, and that will work since it will be projected with a 1024x768 projector. I wish P2E also could be preset to make all new slides that are added to "Stop at the end of this slide". Previous versions would automatically do that. Now I have to remember to customize every single new slide I add. Big PITA and I don't always remember. Some slides are set to start an exe movie, and others have a certain time I need them on for, so I can't do a blanket time for all existing slides. AARRGGHH! P2E used to be so easy!
  21. OK thanks. We'll be in California next week.
  22. OK. Does it do that only when previewing a show, or does it also do that with exe shows?
  23. When in P2E, and I click the preview icon to start a show, my laptop screen changes color (more blue). Why does it do that? My laptop screen is calibrated, and I use that default profile. Is P2E shifting out of the calibrated profile?
  24. I have absolutely no idea what you said! But no matter. I think I found the trouble. I recently moved the show onto a different hard drive. Since then I added some new video clips. Some video clips were looking for the old address, while some were looking in the correct location. So some clips would show while others wouldn't That would explain why i thought it was intermittent. I think! I'll post again if the problem rears its' ugly head again, but otherwise I think that was it.
  25. I interject some video clips that I've rendered as exe files (P2E doesn't recognize the original avi files) to drop into my teaching program. I customized a blank slide to start the exe by running that application. But sometimes it doesn't start the exe file. Whazzup?
