  1. Conflow: Thanks! I ran the test that you recommended and passed all parts, except it reported that 3D acceleration was not enabled and the box to enable it was grayed out, so I couldn't get it to work right. That told me all my drivers were up to date. Crossfade: Thanks! I went to the pages you linked to and found out that to install the 3D acceleration part of Guest Additions, I would have to reboot in safe mode. Once I did that it allowed me to install Guest Additions and PTE is working beautifully now. Thanks to you both for your assistance getting PTE to work for me in Virtual Box. This really is a great program. I even added the Windows XP Virtual machine to the desktop as an alias so now all I have to do is double click on the Windows icon and it boots ... much much faster than Windows has ever booted for me before. I appreciate your help. I've been a Mac user for about 18 months now and hated always having to reboot into Bootcamp to run PTE or run a slideshow. Now it is very easy.
  2. Thanks for the reply, Conflow. I've got SP3 installed and it is running just fine ... everything except PTE. Did you mean to say that running *PTE* on a Mac with VirtualBox doesn't work, or Windows XP? Like I said, XP SP3 actually runs great on my 2011 iMac. Thanks
  3. I have VirtuaBox installed and running fine on my mid-2011 27" iMac, except for Pictures to EXE. I am running Windows XP and when I try to open PTE, I get the following message: "Pictures to EXE requires hardware acceleration of video card. Please make sure that you have installed DirectX 9 or higher. It's highly recommended to update or re-install drivers of video card." My iMac came with Lion preinstalled, so I have no DVD with Windows video drivers to install. Has anyone gotten PTE to work in VirtualBox yet? If so, how? Thanks!
  4. killer. Thanks so much ... I didn't know about the INS key shortcut, but I appreciate your adding the 'n' key as well.
  5. Well, I don't think I imagined it! When you go to Project Options / Customize Synchronization, I thought you used to be able to just press the "n" key instead of having to click "New Transition". It was easier to use that shortcut instead of keeping my hand and finger poised over the mouse for the whole slideshow to synchronize the slides. Keeping my hand and wrist tensed for so long causes mild discomfort. I could have sworn that it used to be there. Does anyone else remember that? If not, I think it would be a great addition! Thanks again.
  6. There is one change that I have noticed in recent versions that I miss the way it used to be ... It used to be that in the customize the slide duration screen you could press 'n' to add a transition to the next slide, but that feature seems to be missing now. It was much easier when I could use that keyboard shortcut. Do you think you may ever bring this back in a future version? THanks for the fantastic software!
  7. I have been tinkering around with PTE and trying to get a useable AVI file to burn with Sonic My DVD and have not been having any luck yet. Not only will MyDVD not recognize the PTE AVI and freeze up, but when I go and try and execute the AVI file by itself in WIndows, I get audio but no video. What could be the possible causes of this problem?
  8. I can't get Sonic MyDVD to recognize a PTE AVI either. WHen I select it to add to my project, it freezes and doesn't do anything after that. Has anyone had success with MyDVD yet??
