  3. Brian, Please dont be downhearted about your presentation. I would if I may offer a few words of advice, having done a few ' controversial ' shows along the way. Its a good show, but some may view the Orange day parades as religous or even political. Something frowned on in most forums. Your use of P2E's various features was very very good, and if you want it to be viewed by a wide audience, you may wish to put a warning on the opening page, or indeed your text when offering it for download. That way the viewer is aware of what it is and has the opportunity to download or not/view or not.

I have a whole heap of pics of the murals I took when stationed there and was considering doing something with them, but caution got the better of me...

Andrew ,thank you for your kind words and very good advice ,will add warning to my first post, i would like to see your pics of murals as this, is a project i hope to do soon

  4. In my opinion - a bit tedious to watch!

Just returning from a trip to Ireland (including Derry), I would like to pose the question if this production can be considered as political propaganda.

    Regards,

    Xaver

sorry you find my show a bit tedious , and also would like to point out that no political propaganda is intended, no offence intended, My only interest is in photography

since you have posed the question ,i now ask myself were we draw the line, surly all slideshows are of some kind of culture . I was very upbeat about the other comments

i have had , this one has just pulled the heart out me

  5. Hi Brian,

Do you mean the frame around the photo inside the globe? If so, you can't really remove the frame from the photo unless you want to just use the eraser in Photoshop. To do that, the easiest way that I know is to copy the entire snowglobe image, paste it on a transparency of the same size and then you can erase whichever portions of the image you want and add whatever you want.

Since Panos constructs the globe in layers, you can just turn off the layer for the photo using Photoshop's Layers window and this will remove the photo itself. You can then switch off the shadow for the photo and that will leave you without the image automatically created by the snowglobe action. Likewise for the ice crystals, snow flakes, etc. If you just experiment with switching the various layers on and off you will see how the globe is constructed.

For these simulations, I only use the globe itself without any content inside, then I create the images I want inside the globe, add my own snow, etc. If you go to the PanosFX site you can download my tutorial there which might help you better understand the process. The PTE basic template which I created for the animated snowglobe leaves the design pretty much as Panos built it, but removes the static snow and replaces it with my PNG snow effect. For these specialized effects I only use the basic globe construct then add a wide variety of effects and content.

    Best regards,

    Lin

Thanks lin, i will play about with the action, who knows what i will come up with.
