  1. So when will you share "The Four Seasons" by Haydn with us?
  2. Hi Gilio, thank you for your prompt answer. I got the point. Sounds like a lot of work, but it definitely was worth it. Regards Rudi
  3. Hi PhilG, now, I've found your notes, thank you. How about implementing these notes some place within the PTE presentation? Assume, I give your presentation to a friend to look at it for I liked it so much. He would't have any chance to find your notes. Besides that, it wouldn' hurt your presentation but rather complete it. I think, some form of prologue or appendix WITHIN the PTE Presentation with exactely that kind of notes would do the job. Not meant to critizise but to strengthen your presentation. Regards Rudi
  4. Hi Al, yes, I remember you well. I was pretty ill in the meantime and had to undergo surgery three times. Hm, guess I have to take a closer look at version 5 then, although, you cant' teach new tricks to an old dog. So long RudiRe
  5. Hi PhilG, I enjoyed your PTE-Show about BEAMISH and wished, there'd be some more information about where it is located. Is it in Australia or Scotland? Maybe a map or even just some written info would be of benefit for the naiv viewer like me. Or let me put it this way: Let's assume, you just saw a marvellous PTE Show about RYOLITE or BRANDSTADT-SABA; wouldn't you want to know, where the heck it is? Greetz RudiRe
  6. Hi Gilio, I enjoyed your "Winds" presentation, yet was completely flabbergasted by the animation at the beginning. How Did you realize that within PTE? Greetings from Munich, Germany Rudi
  7. On my computer, the music and the pictures restart also. After about one and a half repetitions, the otherwise nice bumble bee show ends apruptly in the middle of the second run. I also have the impression, some images might be skipped on my machine. My computer is a 4 year old Hewlett-Packard Omnibook XE 2 laptop, PII (266 Celeron) with 256 RAM. I think, the shows syncronisation runs differently on different computers, since the fast succesion of images and hence tremendous constant loading requirement puts quite some strain and burden on CPU power, while running the mp3 simultaneously. PTE might not necessarily be the adequat software for the bumble bee presentation, since it's not intended to be a movie player with many images displayed per second, but rather as a slideshow program. Maybe we can figure out the optimal minimum length, for which an individual slide should AT LEAST be displayed in PTE, for handling it universally correct on any computer. I also think, the image size corresponds with that problem, meaning: The smaller the image size, the more images you will be able to present within a second.
  8. JRR, when you add a gif as object, then PTE gives you the choice, to make it transparent or leave it untransparent as it is. If transparency is checked (marked), PTE takes the upper left pixel of your gif-object and makes all other pixels with the same color transparent. I hope, this explanation answers your question. If not, let me know. Igor, I'm sorry that your thread led to completely new topics. On the other hand, that's great.
  9. I totally disagree with you guys regarding the Windows briefcase. Just throw anything in there, that you want to have saved, and with two mouse-clicks, you'll have backed up everything, that has been changed since your last synchronisation. That's all. Nothing to configure. Foolproof, simple and reliable. I'm doing that on a daily basis on my zip-drive, and it's much more convenient to me than configuring an extra (costly?) program. Call me old fashioned. I'm no particular Bill Gates lover nor hater, but I take a bow for his briefcase (and Outlook Express).
  10. ccmanz, when a gif already is transparent, you cannot just "switch off" its transparency. The transparency selection within PTE has the function, to make untransparent gifs transparent, but it won't eliminate the transparency, which already is inherent within a gif. Therefore, it's always best, to use untransparent gifs within PTE and decide then, whether to make it transparent or not. This is also the reason, why the transparency selection mark was greyed out on one of your pictures, meaning "no chance to change", since the gif already was transparent by itself.
  11. ccmanz, the fact, that transparency looks strange on your gifs might be due to the fact, that very fine lines between your text get transparent as well, since it's also white. Try to change only the background color (main border) of your gif, but not the white within the thumbnaillike poster. This way, the text should not get affected by too fine and therefore disturbing transparency. I'm sure, it's a matter of your particular images and not a matter of PTE. I'll send you a new image, if you have your e-mail address deposited.
  12. Question 2: But any copy can also be copied? Answer 2: See, that's why every copy is an original.
  13. I'm doing all my backups to zip-drive by means of the Windows briefcase. No additional software needed for that purpose. This way, only changed files or folders are backed up as well _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ Here's a joke fresh out of the academic science of semiotics: Question: What is an original? Answer: Anything, that can be copied.
  14. boxig, what's the difference beteeen your program and just copying (and thereby saving and backing it up) the pte files to let's say a zip drive?
  15. Yes, ZPaint was my recommendation, but I tried the other one too, whereby ZPaint is to my understandig the much smarter program, but one needs to add the fonts with another program. For making buttons though, it's just great.
