  1. Hi Dave O&A is Objects and Animations. If I have 500 pics in a chow do I need to do this with each picture or does this do all 500 at once? Regards Mark
  2. Folks, I wonder if anyone can help. I have just had to flatten my laptop and rebuild it. I have set up various slideshows in the past with pictures on an E drive. My Laptop no longer has an E Drive with the pictures now residing on my C drive. When I open the show I get lots of blue slides as PTE is searching for the pics on E. Is there a simple way to re map each slideshow to let PTE find my pics on their new location on the C drive and thus be able to nun the slideshow. Look forward to hearing from you Mark
  3. Mark, I recently got involved in wedding photography. My first wedding was in March of this year and I spent nearly two weeks trying to re-size everything. It was an exceptionally tedious and boring process. I shot my second wedding on Sat 31st May. I cannot thank you enough for posting the advice and preparing the action on batch re-sizing. I followed your instructions and it has worked out tremendously well. I have processed over 400 images in less than two hours, and that includes me testing the process to make sure it worked. You are a star man. I was kind of concerned after reading all the threads connected to your post however I ignored them and followed your instructions. Thanks once again, you have saved me lots of time. ryt
  4. Hi Dan, Please forgive my ignorance however the "TV safe zone option" is it in PTE or Ulead Movie Factory? And what screen or tab is it on? Regards Ryt
  5. Thanks for getting back chaps. I do not have any text in the slideshow. It is purely picyures to music. I take on board the comment about Ulead products. Maybe I should switch to vidoebuilder. Does it work in the same way with PTE i.e do I create an AVI file then open video builder and burn the DVD? I look forward to hearing from you. Regards Mark
  6. Folks, I am successfully making PTE slide shows that play great on my PC . I have a problem however when I burn to DVD using Ulead Movie Factory 4. The DVD burn process works fine however when I play back my DVD's on my TV, the images, especially the portrait images have part of the image cut off. I believe that I have sized my pictures correctly, and as I say the pictures in the slideshow are fine when viewed on my PC screen. Is there a setting I need to adjust one either PTE or the Ulead Movie Factory 4 software. I am based in Europe and have seleted the appropriate PAL setting. I have tried all the sreen options in project options in PTE however this seems to make no difference to the burned DVD Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am fairly new to all this. Thanks in anticipation Ryt
  7. Thanks for your help folks. I have managed to burn a PTE DVD for the first time, after trying on and off for nearly two years. I think that the Ulead software I was using was problematic. I removed and re-installed it and it allowed me to burn this time? There is definitely a bug in V4 of the ulead software though, as when finished burning, I removed the DVD. A message then came on screen stating there was no disc in the drive, with options to retry, cancel or continue. Nothing I did would remove the irritating message from re-appearing every second or so. I had to shut my laptop and re-boot to get rid of it. As long as I can burn DVD's I am prepared to live with this albeit I would be interested to know if anyone out there has overcome this problem. Regards Ryt
  8. Hi Al, I have gone through the process you suggested and there seems to have been progress when using the "custom AVI file" setting. Ulead can now see the file, when I click to add video file. It allows me to create a menu, however when I reach what would appear to be the final screen to burn the DVD, and hit the Burn icon I keep getting a message up saying "The disc is not empty or there is no disc in the device" with the option then to retry or cancel. I have a DVD recordable disc in my D Drive, so I do not know why it is not recognising this? On the final screen it says: Label PRJ080207 Drive D> NEC DVD RW Disc Type Empty (This is in red writing? Even though I have a disc in the D Drive?) Do you have any thoughts on how to rectify this
  9. Thanks Al, I will give it a bash later today. THanks for your quick response
  10. Folks, Does anyone out there have a simple step by step guide I can follow to allow me to burn a DVD of my PTE slide presentations using Ulead DVD Movie Factory 4? I have tried unsuccessfully on numerous occasions and find the process very frustrating. I have encountered a number of problem, not least of which is that when Ulead tries to find the PTE file, nothing shows up? Can anyone out there help? I look forward to hearing from you. Ryt
  11. thanks Jeff, Been too busy at work to try your suggestions yet. I plan to have another bash this week. I will let you know how I get on. Regards ryt
  12. Thanks Jeff, I will try your suggestions over this weekend. Seems a bit strange that I need to use Nero or similar? Is the Ulead software not up to the job. Regards ryt
  13. Folks, I am a new user to PTE and was advised that to burn DVD's I needed Ulead Movie Factory V4. I am experiencing a problem. I can create the slide presentation and add music etc however I am experiencing a couple of problems when I try to burn a DVD: First problem is with PTE open, I open Ulead as instructed and try to find the AVI file. I have stored it in a folder in "My documents". The dialogue box shows me the folder, however when I click on the folder to retrieve the AVI file, the folder will not open? If I go into my C drive, click on my documents, and click on the folder, I can see the file, so why will the folder not open when I use the Ulead software? Second problem is that on the two occasions where I have managed to open the folder (Don't know why it worked) and managed to open the AVI file, I progress as advised with the Ulead screens, preview my presentation, then click to burn the DVD. I get a message saying that it will take some time. The software goes through a few processes with blue percentage bars marking progress of the burning process. When I get to what appears to be the end of the burning process which takes around 15 mins, I get an error message stating "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disc into drive E". I don't understand this as there is already a blank disk in drive E? As I try to progress, I get a dialogue box appearing with 3 options saying "Cancel, Try again or Continue". Regardless of what option I pick, it appears every 10 seconds and cannot be removed from my screen? to get rid of it I have to shut down my PC. Sorry for the long winded post, however PTE seems to be a fantastic programme, however I am becoming extremely frustrated with not being able to burn to DVD. I have emailed tech support at Ulead 3 times over the last 36hours and they have failed to respond. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. ryt.
