  1. I have been trying out version 5 beta release 8s (29-12-2006) and have a problem with sound and vision at the end of the show.

The show consists of 49 slides and one music track of about 4mins. In Project Options I have enables the "Syncronize slides to music" option and under the Music tab, I only have Play background music selected. Under the Timeline button, I have selected Syncronize slides to music and Auto spread slides along music.

If I create an exe, then when the show finishes, you just get a very brief (1 second or less) burst of the music starting again. If I create a DVD, then I get the same problem, but in addition I get the very first slide displayed again before going back to the DVD Menu.

Is this a problem with the beta or something I have done wrong?

  2. With the beta you can have the higher resolution originals and take care of the resize using Objects and Animation. The advantage of this is realized if and when you want to zoom in tight. This way you take advantage of the hardware rendering and will be using the full resolution image without loosing anything to the resample for the closeups.

I have to resize my 3504x2336 images down to 1024x768 otherwise the transistions don't work properly - very jumpy, sometimes only part of the image shown even with 5beta - can't see a resize option in Objects and Animation - am I missing something or is it that my PC's just not up to it. :(

  3. I have just downloaded this latest beta and like a few others here, I'm having trouble with the DVD burning facility. I have created a short 4 minute show and burnt to DVD with no apparent problem. The DVD refuses to play on domestic DVD players connected to TV. I have two players here, one gives the error "Wrong Format" straight away, the other will display the DVD menu, but will not play the show - just does nothing. If I create a DVD with no menu, then the player just keeps trying to read the disc. I have tried +R, -R and -RW all behave the same.

If I put the DVD in the computer, then PowerDVD displays the message "Format not supported". Windows Media player will play the DVDs. If I take the files from the VIDEO_TS directory on my HD and burn them to DVD via Nero, then the disc will play on both players and the PC (although still not PowerDVD - get message "An object or name was not found. Error 80040216").

Hope this might help to track down the problem.
