  1. Sorry it's taken me so long to reply - Christmas intervened! I burned DVDs of my presentation made using PTE version 7 onto several different media brands and also of the same presentation using PTE version 8. All the discs made using version 7 played but none of those using version 8. My friend was very pleased that she was able to share the show with her friends and family over Christmas so thank you once again for your help. Happy new year.
  2. Hi, The penny finally dropped! Thank you nobeefstu for your note - it made me realize my mistake. I was opening the file made using PTE v8 in PTE v7 but not SAVING it. As soon as I did so it allowed me to continue with VideoBuilder and make a DVD. I know that's also what davegee wrote but I just didn't realize at the time. Anyway, I have now burned the DVD onto a couple of different media brands and sent them off to my friend to see if any will work or her player. Many thanks for all your input.
  3. Thank you all so much for your swift replies. They have given me some ideas to try - I have worked out a plan! MickP Yes, I had already updated to the latest version of PTE. DG Yes, I did as you suggest. I will get in touch with Igor and ask if that is the way it should work. I will let you know the outcome - assuming I solve the problem, of course. Many thanks.
  4. I have recently made a DVD of a slideshow using PicturesToExe version 8. It plays on different makes of player that we have but will not play on a friend's machine. She is able to play previous slideshows made using PTE version 7 so I decided to use version 7 and loaded the project, ignoring the warning that the project had been made in a newer version of PTE. I was able to preview the project and it ran as it should. When I tried to make a DVD I got the message to use a newer version of Video Builder and the bar at the bottom showing the amount of the disc that would be used did not fill. I continued anyway to see what would happen and filled in the next screen but when I hit Start I got an error message VideoBuilder.exe has stopped working. The screen will not now close. Has anyone had a similar experience? I don't particularly want to revert to version 7 but if I uninstall version 8 long enough to make a DVD and then reinstall it, would that work? Is there another way to resolve the problem of a DVD not playing on certain players? Any help would be gratefully received.
  5. Can you tell me why all my fonts are not available in PtE. Can I do anything about it? I could use Photoshop to do the text but I would like to animate it. I always seem to want a font that's not available!
