    Igor, if I created a thumbnail picture how would I make it be a part of my PTE video?  I'm thinking in terms of doing it as part of publishing the HD video.  Is that what you are talking about or do you mean after the MP4 is complete?

    Thanks wideangle.  I was looking for a lazier way.  The settings/preference/toolbar tip from Jill worked.  

  7. Missing Files (Because I moved them)

    After I had started a slideshow, I moved some of the pictures on my PC to a different folder.   Obviously, when I went back into the slideshow, I got a message that I have files missing.

    When I click on OK, I get a message showing me which files are missing.

    This is not the first time I have made this mistake and I thought there used to be a button you could press to change the picture.   I can no longer find that button.

    I know it is "user error" but can anyone help me?

    if you want to confirm this is a version issue, you can try to install my Vinyl intro slide made with PTE 8.

    For each style, I mention in the description the version of PTE required.

    Thanks  for your response.  It works with my trial version of AV-10.   I love that style.   I have been wanting one like that -

    Can somebody please help me with this.   My pc died and I had to rdowload  PTE again and  lost all the styles I had imported.  I have now imported many of them but I haven't been able to make the ones of the Dom's website work. I put it in the cart, press download, and it downloads successfully.   However when I try to import it from PTE, nothing happens.  After playing with it, I'm wondering if it's because I'm still using PTE verson 9.   (waiting for my ship to come in to purchase AV-10.)   Can anybody confirm that?

    An interesting thing about PTE and my Windows Reset.  I thought I would loose all the styles which I had copied and modified from all you wonderful people.   When I downloaded PTE after the reset - as a trial - I was delighted to find that my modified styles were still there.  I am surprised, but happy.

     

  14. Another Key question [SOLVED]

    I upgraded in Feb 2017 to PTE version 9 and paid $39.  

    I had to do a Windows Reset last Friday . I have just downloaded PTE version 9 again but I can't find the  key to activate it.   What do I need to do?

    (I know I should have saved it and I did save it but unfortunately, it didn't survive the Windows Reset -  or at least, I can't find it.)

  17. Default Font in Captions

    Rick, I also thought that there used to be a way to save a default font option for text  but  I searched recently and could not find it.   After reading your message, I have just tried again to find it.

    If you click on the "Project Options" button and select "options",  the first item on the screen is "Customize Font".    You can change font, text size, color, etc.  There is a "Click to Apply to All Slides" button.   I thought I had found what I was looking for.

    But it doesn't work for me.    Does anyone shed any light on this?  

      

  20. Recovered Project

    Thanks Igor for your response.   I am sorry to be such a problem child.    Detail about three error messages follow: 

    #1.   "Frame Engine Exception"

    This message appeared several times recently when I tried to change the Font Type on O&A and I would have to use Task Manager to get out of PTE.    (That would explain the Recovered Project notation, I think.)  I read some posts from July about that error message and tried someone's (maybe yours, I'm not sure) suggestion to download PTE Version 9.012.     I did that and the  Font problem seems to be resolved.   The next time I accessed my PTE slideshow, the "Recovered Project" notation was gone. 

    #2. "Exception Access Violation in module PicturesToExe at 00091932"

    I can't say what I was doing when I saw that error message and I don't know what I did to make it go away.   A similar, if not exact, message has cropped up several times.   Sorry I can't be more descriptive.  If it happens again, I will try to get more information.

    #3.  "The folder contains Items whose names are too long for recycle bin."

    A folder, which seemed to relate to PTE Styles & Resources,  appeared on my desktop.  It appeared to be in a loop and kept on creating folders.  I can't say for sure how many but their properties show zero bytes but each one contains more folders.   I have not found a way to delete them.  

    None of them are causing me problems at the moment.   I know I am not explaining them well enough for anyone to re-create the error message.   But if you have any thoughts I would appreciate hearing them.    

  21. Recovered Project

    I have been working on a PTE show off and on for a couple of months.   I just noticed today that at the top left of screen it says "Recovered Project"  (see attached).

    I also have a couple of error messages that I need to ask about but perhaps I should address this first.   Can anyone tell me what that means?

I included other news items that I thought would be of interest to family and for a soundtrack used music that were in the Charts in that year, edited so that I had around 40 seconds of each track then segued into the next.

    Rather than just leaving those old photos gathering dust in an album somewhere, putting together audio visuals highlighting some of those old memories is on my 'to do' list. I just need that kick-start to get going.

    Thank you Lin.  You're the best.   Sorry I didn't respond sooner.   We were in an auto accident and our car was totalled so we've been tied up dealing with that.   I really appreciate this and all the help you have given me for the past several years.
