Hi,
Looks like a bug in 10.5.6 (maybe was here in previous versions)
On a slide show with missing file, in timeline if you double click on missing file thumbnail and change "transition effect duration" and validate by 'ok'.
Now, even 'Cancel' button do not close properties window.
The only way to close is to clic on 'show next or previous slide' buttons, then 'Cancel' button will be effective.

When you browse files with arrows keys (up, down, left, right) from keyboard, it's much more easier to do this with 'Ins' key rather than to move your hand to mouse and drag and drag and drop.
Well, If I follow your point of view I wonder why PTE dev team added some useless shortcuts like Ctrl+A, Ctrl+D, Ctrl+F, Alt + F ?
Do not worry about overload, PTE dev team knows how to manage it and how to priorise requested features.
I do not know at all softwares you mentionned but I can mention some others softwares (in others domains) which have an insert or add shorcut. (F9 or 'Ins')

Add a blank slide,
Double clic on it and in background section select 'solid' and change it's color to green (for example)
Now, with 'Style and theme' button, select 'Style' and 'Album' and 'Apply',
now you should have a grey page with '1' displayed in center !!!
where my green color has gone...

When file list is displayed with details, it looks like an windows explorer from early 80's !!
there is no possibilities to sort column by cliking on it column name : File name, Size, Date name.
Ok, there is short cuts (Ctrl+Fx) but clicking on column name seems more intuitive !

I'm a bit surprised that's not possible to insert current selected file(s) into timeline with a shortcut like 'Insert' button !!

Ok, I got it, try this :
- Open PTE,
- choose Desktop in letter drive list
- select a folder, (I guess there is at least one folder in your desktop)
Then Select : Slide / Insert blank slide
Then nothing is added in timeline !
PS : I have several others bugs like this but I need some time to check before to report.

In PTE 10.0.13, I have tried to add a caption in Basic Album theme but wasn't able to remove the first letter.
Even after deleting it in caption field, first letter is still display in transition !

On my computer desk, i have only shortcuts but these are not displayed when selecting 'Desktop' in letters drive list in a project !!!
would be nice to display shortcuts under a folder.

In PTE 10.0.13, after opening, if you select in Slide menu 'insert a blank slide' nothing happens.
you have first to select time line and then select 'Insert a blank slide' in slide menu or Ctrl+S.
from my point of view, if a menu is available (not greyed), it means it's available and should work when you use it ?

Hi,
In latest version (9.0.21), looks like MP4 file with H265 codec are not useable with PTE.
In thumbnails windows, thumbnail is blank and can't be used in timeline.

ok, but I still cant find the key to enter in the field to get the new one to work.

5. Click "Activate" button.

I think problem in the installed QuickTime version. It's strange that it can't play created MP4 video file, because when I tried it worked fine. Please try another video player. For example Media Player Classic Home Cinema
Works well with Media Player Classic Home Cinema but not with QuickTime (as suggested in PTE Creating HD video windows).
If this can help to understand the problem and may be fix a PTE problem, Here is how it behaves with QuickTime.
when HD video is played, there is a black screen. (time cursor is running)
when I pause video, an fixed image is displayed. (where video has been stopped.)
if I start (keep going) video, time cursor is running but not video, just same previous fixed image.
if I pause again, a fixed image is again displayed (where video should have stopped)
Hope this will help to solve the problem.

dont forget to copy the music plus any other info you have used for the show into the main working folder

I haven't yet used seriously PTE, Only for beta testing or debugging it, but thought this was fully done (music and any other infos used in slide show) by "File/Create backup in Zip".

Hi,
In slide list, on right clic on image, it would be nice to have in menu "Open picture folder".
By this way, it will be easier to select images "on the fly" from same selected directories images.
This assume that a drag & drop (from an external explorer window) to slide list works.

I have learned that the best way of working for me is to start a new AV sequence by creating a new folder for it and then copy into that folder all the images that I think I might use.
ok, I thought (expected) it was possible to do this "in the fly" by drag&drop images from external explorer windows.
After that, when project is finished to select all images and copy them in a directory, which is done with File/Create backup in Zip.

mmh, it's probably time to upgrade my video card / computer ! ?
Following my tests, an mpg4 (3.7Mb) was correctly created with "Publish on Youtube".
This file is correctly readable with QuickTime.
Seems there is some problems with "Create HD video for PC Mac" (?)

Hi,
V6.0beta19 (Win XP SP3) : unable to create a valid HD video.
With a (test) slide show (one picture with some test effects), I tried to create a HD video for PC and Mac.
Mp4 file has been succefully created with default presets (Sd & Medium quality) but I'm not able to see anything in Quicktime player. (even with latest download : 7.64.17.73)
I guess, i missed something because I couldn't create a valid HD video with 5.6.4 (video builder registrered), neither with 6.0 beta 19 (video builder demo version).
Any ideas ?

I suggest you double check this. If neither drag and drop nor Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V are working, how are you getting your images into the slide list. I'm not aware of a third option? I've just checked v5.6.4 and v6.0 b18 and both of these versions support drag and drop and Copy&Paste. I cannot believe that b19 has suddenly dropped these essential features!

Seems that my previous message was not clear enough.
Ctrl+C/Ctrl+v or drag and drop is from another explorer windows, not from PTE folders directories.
Example :
Inside an explorer window I do "Copy".
but inside PTE slide list, "Paste Ctrl+V" is greyed. (not available!)
Same for Drag and drop : Drag from an external explorer window, drop to PTE slide list. (A forbiden icon (Round + /) is displayed.)

I was a bit surprised of drag and drop limitations in PTE.
well, I can't drag a picture from a directory and drop it inside slide list.
a missing feature ? a limitation ? a bug ?
It would be nice to do this. (specially when your directory is already openned and when path of this directory is quite very long and not so easy to find it again in tree list.
)Neither Ctrl+c (in directory) and Ctrl+v (in slide list) works !!! (missing feature? a bug ?)

Hi,
In main PTE page project, in tree list, it would be nice, under "desktop" icon to display shortcuts which are available in desktop computer.
In my case, On my computer desktop, i have several shortcuts which points at several applications like pictures, etc, etc.
but this desktop shortcut is not seen from desktop icon in tree list.
Would be nice to add this tiny feature.

At present it is difficult and time consumming to achieve a perfect synchronization. This is my request and it seems
it's also a widely shared opinion in this forum. We are waiting for this improvment since 2 years.
I totally agree with you.
I have been away (from A&O) for a while and thought to find such feature in V6.0 beta xx but seems that I (we) will have to wait a bit more to see this feature (and also others very usefull) implemented in PTE.
Compares at V5.6.4, V6.0 beta xx has quite a lot of interesting features.

Hi,
Finally the problem comes from windows defender.
This happens if PTE application is not an approved app in Win Defender database.
After adding this in Defender everything is ok.
