  1. Please advise if there is any way to change a forum display name. I cannot find any access to display name in the My Profile panels. Thanks Brian
  2. Thanks to Peter for his reply and I too would also like to thank Brian (Conflow) for his information. As each one of my PTE projects has it's own folder containing all the jpegs and pngs, soundtrack and PTE project it was a simple matter of copying the folder, so as not to destroy the original, and then load the complete file of jpeg and png images into Faststone. Having resized I launched the PTE project from the copied resized folder and job done. Quality appears ok and all animations in place. What I thought would be a major task completed in around 10 to 15 mins and that was for approx 210 images and a sequence with some amount of animation. Regards Brian
  3. Could I please follow up this thread by asking the following. My situation is the reverse in that my monitor and therfore my input images are 1680 x 1050 ie 16:10. These sequences are also to be displayed on a 1400 x 1050 projector ie 4:3. My sequences contain several animations and suit the 16:10 format and it would also take some considerable time to rework the original images let alone the av's. I am aware that it is recommended to show full screen and 'fix size of slide in pixels' to keep the animation in place and prevent the aspect ratio of images changing. My question is: Is it recommended that I fix size of slide to 1680 x 1050 (original image size) and allow downsizing of images by projection and will this project full screen images and retain all animations in the correct place or would it be recommended I keep the 16:10 aspect ratio but change the 'virtual size of slide' to 1400 x 875 (also 16:10) although using the original images sized 1680 x 1050? I am aware that there may be dark bands top and bottom of projected images due to not filling the height of the projected area. Am I getting confused and do both methods arrive at the same end result? Thanks, Brian
  4. I have been using PTE5 with my pc configured in dual monitor mode (in desktop Properties/Settings). I set my pc monitor as extend my desktop to and I set my 1080 TV as my primary monitor to display my sequences. All ok. Now however I have the following problem. When I reset my system to single monitor mode via Desktop Properties/Settings to enable me to work on the pc monitor, when I add text in Objects and Animation the customise drop shadow sub menu box wants to open on the disabled 2nd monitor (TV). When the problem first occurred I thought PTE had frozen but I found I could continue by pressing Esc, I now know that I was closing the invisable sub menu. I have tried dragging the menu box back to the 1st monitor and I have changed from dual view to single view via both the TV and pc monitor but I cannot get the drop shadow menu box to stay on the pc monitor. The menu can be dragged back to the pc monitor but after shutting down and re booting it has disappeared and wants to open on the disabled 2nd monitor. It has become very annoying to have to set up dual monitor mode simply to add a drop shadow. Any ideas please? Brian.
  5. As a PTE user I regularly visit the PTE Forum however this is my first posting. I would like to pass on some information that may be of help to others. I have added a 1080 (1920 x 1080) LCD TV to my system to maximise display presentation. My PC monitor is 1680 X 1050 and in order to enjoy the maximum image quality I have been building my AV's to that resolution. Playing these AV's as exe files on the new 1920 x 1080 TV via DVI to HDMI gives stunning image quality. Sound is via Hi Fi amp/speakers. Using exact scan setting on the TV gives a 1 to 1 pixel mapping and whilst obviously there are some black borders due to the different resolutions the picture quality is simply outstanding. You can of course expand the image to fill the screen and whilst there is some picture loss the quality is still far better than DVD. The point I wish to make is that in my attempts to get the system up and running, having suffered numerous crashes and freezes, I find that as my pc is equipped with twin NVidia graphic cards they have been installed in SLi mode. In this mode you do not get the dual monitor option. Even with the TV as the sole screen I still could not get the PC to accept the TV. There is little information on the NVidia site to help but with considerable web browsing I stumbled across information that helped. Eventually I found how to disable SLi mode via NView software in the control panel and was then able to use dual view to enable me to set the maximum resolution of the monitor to 1680 x 1050 and TV to 1920 x 1080 respectively and seperately. So if you have twin NVidia graphic cards coupled in SLi mode you need to, and can, disable via the graphic card software. Do not disable via hardware. I certainly will not be producing further DVD's for my own use as I am now enjoying quality that I thought was not possible. Brian
