Extra to above post, I'm using Win XP, and I did not click "Finish" in P2E before I tried to encode or play the avi file. Alan

    help

Help! I have the same problem, my avi files as produced by 4.20 beta #2 are not recognised by TMPGEnc, nor will they play in Win media player, sound only here? TMPGEnc is latest version, I only downloaded it today. I have a reasonable machine 1600 AMD Athlon, 512 ram, plenty of hard disc space. Any suggestions would be helpful. Alan
  3. Hi Wayne, I'd do this in PhotoShop or a similar editing package, just make the first photo of Mom, then make a new image showing Mom & Pop, finally another new image showing all three. Then just add the transitions between the photos. Easy. Alan
  4. Sorry Igor I did miss something, Open Picture, the picture opens in what ever programme you set to open a jpg. Silly me!! Alan
  5. Igor, An idea for you: In Object editor, how about adding two navigatoin buttons, Next Slide, Previous Slide ? Usful if you are going through a show adding text to all slides. Also a question, when I right click a slide I get the option to "open picture". The picture opens in Internet Explorer, is it possible to choose which application the picture opens in i.e. photoshop? Or perhaps I've missed something. Alan
  6. Hi Nobeefstu, This sounds a great tool, and free too! Look foreward to trying it out. Alan
  7. Cincy, Just had another thought, if you are going to include any text then make sure you either use a common one that everyone will have, such as ariel, or include the font file on your cd with instructions to install. If your original font is not on the recipient machine then the machine will choose a font and the show won't loook the way you intended it. Don't forget to put a credit in for picturs to exe, and their web address somewhere. Alan
  8. Hi Cindy , I make my scr images jpg 5 or sometime 4 and they look ok, but just experiment and see what looks good. When I make my images in photoshop I resize them to 1024x768, you could choose 800x600, but I think most people are on the former nowadays. The I use image ready to optimise them, as if for a web site, then save at jpg quality 4 or 5. For shows that will be projected I always save at best quality jpg, in photoshop that's jpg12. Hope that helps. Alan
  9. Igor, and All programmers, Just downloaded beta 4.10, very please to see "You can move selected object(s) pressing arrows of cursor on the keyboard" Just what I wanted, will try out programme over next few days and let you know if I find any problems. Many Thanks continuing to improve this wonderful programme. Alan
  10. Hi there, Do you have any image editing software such as Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop? If so you could resuze the image to 1024 * ??? pixels and save as a mid range jpeg. this would preserve your original and produce a more usable file for pte. Alan
  11. Hi Granot, may I thank you for this free ruler tool, just what I needed to aid positioning. Alan
  12. Hi Jim, Great idea to have a wish list and voting system, hope Igor does this. I think what I'm asking for is a way to position and object by entering co-ordinates in a dialogue box, or being able to position the object by nudging it with the arrow keys rather than dragging and dropping with the mouse. Alan
  13. Is it possible to consider allowing text boxes and objects to be positioned to a custom co-ordinate instead of just the fixed ones. Or, would it be possible to position text boxes and objects in object editor using the keyboard arrow keys as well as the mouse, this would allow for accurate possitioning. Alan
  14. Thanks for the info. Got the show' it great. Alan
  15. Hi All About 2 weeks ago there was a presentation titled "Yellowstone" on the Beechbrook site, I tried several times to download this but it always failed. Beechbrook has now withdrawn this presentation, does anyone know where it can be downloaded from now? Sorry but I can't rember the authors name. Alan
  16. Hi Jim, (JRR) Thanks for the reply regarding renaming files, it worked like a dream. Alan Hotmetal and Fisherman
  17. Hi I need your help. I've just started using P2E and ahve downloaded a couple of presentations from beechbrook, these have the extension P2E, I have tried to rename the files to have a .exe extension, although the file name changes the file type, (when viewed in explorer) remains P2E. I'm using win XP Pro. Am I doing something silly? Alan
