Hi everyone, I can copy and paste timed points, just don't know how to copy them from slide 1 and apply them to slide 2. Is there a tutorial on this? I can do it manually but this is tedious and probably won't get it exactly the same as I've got twenty slides to do. Mario

Have you changed your system font? I see oriental characters on your screen. Just a stab in the dark but I'm thinking system font. Go to help and support and investigate 'change font'. Goodluck Mario

Hi Craig, If your using Irfanview make sure you have the latest version, also plugins. When you have the latest version installed just double click on the swf file and the movie will begin. I have a script I use in paintShopPro which adds id of your choosing to an image. If you can use it I'll upload it for you. Mario

HI Folks, I want to create a slide show which; 1) Fades in the (title)first slide and remains visible (full screen) for the entire length of the slide show. 2) Fade in other slides which zoom in from the center of the screen to full screen and then slide off screen to the right. Step two is repeated for three more slides. My slide list contains only the Title Slide which I select and then go to O&A. In O&A 'Customize Slde' I set the length of the show and set any transitions. My question is, to complete step 2 I must use the 'Add Image button' in O&A for the rest of the slides. This is pretty much what I've done and works (with a little more fine tuning), but am I doing it the right way. Shouldn't all the slides be in the slides list? Hope this makes sense, difficult to put thoughts to written words. Mario

Hi Ripigio, I had the exact same problem and my machine is a 2gig P4 with Gforce 6800. I found that in my case the same problems occured and I didn't even have any music loaded in to SS. As it turned out my file\s sizes were way too big. Problem went away and back to Smooooooooth transitions after reducing the file sizes. In my case I was for some slideshows using images of 300+ DPI and file sizes of 4 to 15meg. You can imaging the havoc this created...LOL I now use and am still experimenting with images at 72 DPI file sizes of about 600kb and my images look great. I've only been here on this group for only a couple of weeks and I must warn you. Your going to smothered with kindness, help, hints and suggestions so be warned! Mario

Hi Folks, I need to create a couple of transparency slides for PTE. I'm using PaintShopPro XI which is pretty much the equivalent to PhotoShop, but let's not get into that argument please. I assume PTE supports transparency, yes? Can anyone elaborate on this? Mario

Well for what's it's worth, heres the answer. As suspected it is/was a hiiden file and it's called Thumb.db (database file). Took quite a while to work out. Deleting all the files ofcourse won't delete the offender because it's hidden but you may have seen it in the past. Open the folder you can't delete, go to the top and click on tools>Folder options and select the 'View' tab. There are two radio buttons under 'Hidden Files and Folders' check the 'Show hidden files' radio button and press 'Apply' You will now see the offending file 'Thumbs.db' it's a system file. Now what i did was select the 'file types' tab and scroll down until you get to the db extension. highlite the db icon and then select 'Advanced' you will see a 'Actions:' heading with a white area under it. I don't remember now what was in the white area but it had to do with an action associated with the db file. One of the options now in front of you is to 'Remove', which is what I did. Then press 'Apply' The file can now be deleted and then ofcourse the folder. I suspect no ramifications of the above but I'm not a programmer and don't know the importance of the db.file, so do it at your own risk. Worked for me.

As I don't know the cause I have to suspect everything. I've noticed lately and since installing PTE that I have trouble deleting photo/folders. Dialogue box appears when I try to delete saying it can't be deleted as it's being used by another program or person. I don't have anything else open and I'm the only user. All attemps to delete fail. Just tried to delete TheDom Photo Album to re-instal a fresh copy and was not allowed. I can delete through dos command mode although beit with some resistance. Fortunately, I'm an old power user. The probability of this being caused by PTE would be very low but I must ask. So, In short, anyone else having the 'being used by another problem? Mario Just a thought, I was delting another folder with the same problem the other day, in dos command mode. I noticed that while displaying the tree structure of the problem folder, that dos was reporting the root and two sub directories where exploror was only showing the root and one sub directory. Are hidden files being created in PTE or folders?

Hi Brian, I'm still waiting though for an answer to the other part of my question regarding image file formats. Is jpg the only format to use or can PTE utilize other formats? I read and have forgotten the answer to this. Unfortunately, I suffer greatly from an affliction which usually manifests itself in the male species. That is I can never find something when I want it!! LOL Ask a woman where she put something ten years ago and Bang! straight away she knows where it is. Might have something to do with that multi-tasking thing. Mario

Hello Lin I'm using a Gforce 6800 card on a 2 gig p4 with two monitors. My aim is presenting my SS on a televion screen rather than on a computer. I was practicing with Dom's Album and page transitions were very jerky. Turns out I was caused by using images which were much too high in size\resolution. After reducing the resolution somewhat I was able to play the SS with smooth transitions while retaining overall sharpness. Since television screens as opposed to computer screens are more standard in resolution I thought determaning the best resolution for a slide to be presented on a television screen would be beneficial. Barry has given me a link to the Beckham site which gives very informative information on this topic. Mario

If you want to add a copyright on all your images you'll need to do a batch process in your image editor. I use paint shop pro and a script. I can send you the script if you wish. Mario

I just made a test slideshow and was dissappionted with the image quality. What is the best recommedation for image size, min and max? Also, can you use other than jpg? Mario

Hi Paul, it appears you use a Nikon as I do and I'd like to see the image also. Very unlikely to be a PTE problem. You might consider trying to download it to the newsgroup below if you can access it or me directly as long as my isp lets it through. mario53@aapt.net.au free.binaries.paint-shop-pro If you download to the newsgroup make sure you announce the large file attchedment and add in the subject line ping mario. Hi Folks, I've created a slideshow and made a dvd, My first one and works fine. One of the slides says please see the readme file on the disk. This is where I'm stuck! How do I add a .doc file to the disk to be read later with explorer, and will the slideshow play on a dvd player if there is a .doc file also on the disk? I'm using PTE deluxe to make my dvd. And I've also got Nero 7 if it's any help. Mario
