  1. Thanks Ken, did not notice it on that page, I had been looking on the first page after getting slide show ready to go, perhaps I should not do a project after a few bourbons
  2. Having just completed my first project with latest version I have a couple of thoughts. BTW this project worked great apart from thoughts below. 1. There should be the option to burn multiple discs immediately..... 2. There is no way to create an ISO file as in previous versions, only an AVI file (without title page) which must be used staight away by another burn engine or it disappears from desktop. This is not much use if you want to send the completed project including titles to elsewhere to be burned on another machine. Or am I missing something somewhere in settings?????.
  3. I did a project yesterday, first one in a while, it went through the motions to finish the burn as successful on a -R dvd. The puta read the disc as being 0 content and 0 space. neither of my DVD players would recognise the disc. It showed a distinct burn. I repeated the operation with a RW disc which would play for a minute or so then crash and return to the beginning. I made an ISO file which Clone DVD burned to disc perfectly. The good news is I read this thread this morning, downloaded the test version above which imported the show. I gave it a run through with the same show and it worked perfectly from start to finish. You guys are great at fixing things quickly.
  4. Hi guys, did download latest beta version today and gave it a workout, could not fault it here, burned disc fine, exe great. have put test exe on net, English/Irish/Scottish wallpapers, 13 5 megs, original 120 pics at 50 0dd megs plus 3 music tracks cut down. music glitches were in original tracks. Anyone want a peek here.... http://www.mydatabus.com/public/MrT/UKslides.exe
  5. Just reporting in that I have just completed my first project in a new laptop with Vista, worked perfectly first time through without a hitch, Weeeeeeeeee.
  6. This may have been covered elsewhere but I will mention my experience today. I had to purchase a new computer last weekend after a major crash of my other 6 month old machine. (I fell asleep working on a project, woke with a leg cramp and kicked the puta and glass top off the table followed by a glass of water, glass of strawberries and wine, cup of black coffee all of which proceeded to give the puta a bath) But that's another story. I did purchase another laptop, this time with Vista and promptly started the project over again, thank goodness for having a backup only a few days old. I put the girlfriends project together again about 180 pics 325megs, reduced to 5.5 megs with Batch Image Resizer, and all went well with creating an exe, with music. When it came to the video burn the first attempt, 18mins only to create, failed for unknown reason. No problem, try another disc etc. After fiddling and changing discs I finally got it to work on the fourth attempt with an RW disc. Great final production as was another I did not long ago for a kids art exhibition for the school, Now I finally get to the point of the post, is there any way to, or future plan to, be able to stop the temp file being deleted on any failure to burn, this would save a lot of time waiting for it to be created it again.
  7. Just an observation here. I did a project yesterday for my girlfriend and knowing she may want to change it I burned it on a DVD+RW with no problem at all. Several changes later when she was happy I tried to burn to DVD+R, I suffered the same symptoms as above with a failed write. tried with a DVD-R which also failed. Repeated the burn with another DVD+RW and it burned perfectly. This was not a problem to the final result as I just copied from the RW to R disc with another program however even that one was fussy about which discs it would complete a burn on, I wasted 6 discs to get two good copies finally on TDK +R using Clone DVD2. The wasted discs were crappy cheap Imation. Once again I suggest some of the problems with final burn could be the discs and to always try an RW disc first. :D
  8. I am no expert here having just got my version up and running after a reformat. Perhaps the massive content has something to do with it. I use a little program called Batch Image Resizer to reduce all the pics content in one go, down to a few megs for the whole show. The final quality of the pics show little difference from the originals and cuts the burning time to just a few minutes. Just a suggestion, hope you work it out. I had the same panic to get a show ready for a funeral, took me 4 days and about 30 discs. Another tip (my girlfriend suggested after the fact), is, when experimenting, use a DVD RW disc, saves a lot of heartache and discs..

    Help

Final update, Serg was most helpful. I finally bit the bullet and did a reformat installing PtoE first up and gave it a run. Worked perfectly so it looks like one of the 50 or so other programs in the machine was causing conflict. I am reinstalling them one at a time hoping to find the culprit. Thanks again for your help and suggestions guys/gals.

    Help

Hi nobeefstu, maybe I jumped the gun a little, we found the fix, an exe which located the DVD drive for video builder manually, only worked until next reboot and had to be shut down manually on shutdown of puta and restarted when needed again. Serg is slaving away over a hot computer to develop a working permanent fix for my particular burner. Will keep you informed when solution is found.

    Help

Thanks again. I took the puta back to the shop today to try get their opinion, without booking it in under warranty, all they could suggest was a software conflict as the burner works perfectly, (I burnt a disc prior to going). If I booked it in for a proper warranty check and they found it was only a software problem it would cost me heaps. Will go in and clean out reg entries again and see what happens, I thought I had got them all last time, obviously not.

    Help

Thanks again, I should have explained I had downloaded the program again and wanting to give it a tryout just installed it on the desktop for that attempt. Since then I have uninstalled all traces of the program, used 3 reg cleaners and been into regedit and removed all traces I could find. After reinstall I was able to re enter the reg entries supplied to access video builder however the program already had my name as being the registered user prior to installing reg entries. There must still be traces of the program in the puta I cant find to delete. Anyhow all with the same result as previous attempts, frozen video and ISO builder pages. The only thing the mouse can do on either page is click X to close the page. Any other click brings up the egg timer and goes nowhere. It is the De Luxe version as can be seen at top of page screenshots. Without a mouseclick on video builder page I tried your suggestion to get to the log files, there was no response to that either. Have contemplated a complete reformat but it would take me a week to get loaded up again, shudder the thought if I did that and it still did not work. Thanks again guys for the input, sorry for being a PITA, will keep fiddling here. BTW, the reg entries were just a couple of strings of figures at the bottom of an email, the program prompts for their whereabouts and self loads, is that the correct procedure and is there a possibility of a mistake there.

EDIT Now Iv done it, uninstalled the program, cleaned registry, reinstalled program and found it still registered to me in the about section. tried a test run to burn and was asked to enter reg entries again which I did. Help

Just an update, was about to try your suggestion, found the desctop icon missing. I opened the program from program file and when attempting to go to video builder got this message on screen, seems it thinks it is still a trial version. will reinstall and try again.

    Help

Thanks for that, am using a fairly new computer that has no other problems burning dvd disc or cd in any of my other programs. The free space is always clean, use several cleaners every day, Ashampoo defragmenter works in the background permanently, computer runs fast as lightning with no other obvious problems. The problem does not appear to me to be in the burner, but in the win dvd builder. I can create an exe file, avi file without problem, it's just that video builder page for whatever reason freezes as soon as displayed. As I seem to be the only one experiencing this problem I figure it is something in the computer conflicting with that part of the program. Have not had a reply from tech support yet. :(

    Help

Not long back from the funeral and wake, the show brought everyone to tears and I had many questions as to how I had made it. Shame I could not directly point to this program having had to use 2 computers and 3 different programs to get the final result but for me it was worth the effort for the final result. I think there may be something in my puta blocking Win DVD creator part of the program but I am at a loss as to what it is. Anyhow if anyone would like to see the final product here it is again. http://www.mydatabus.com/public/MrT/TributetoDave2.exe Mr T. Have contacted help but they are usually less informed than you guys/gals on forums

    Help

:D The project in hand is finished so I can rest up for a while, as you mentioned, "about 30 discs later", and using the ISO file from the other puta Clone DVD copied them in 3 mins each. Will give your suggestion a try thanks. God it's 3am I'm still up and have to be at a funeral at 10.30am. better get some nod time.

    Help

Thanks for those replies guys, will try a reinstall. I dragged out an old laptop,HP and installed the program there, I was able to create an ISO file but not burn disc as the burner is cactus. I transferred the ISO file to this machine, Acer Aspire 5630 with XP Pro and finally burned the discs with DVD Clone from the ISO. I love the program, hope to get it fully working in this machine. The problem occurs when going to the page with create ISO or Burn disc, the page goes totally inactive with Not Responding message at the top after any mouse click. Will see what happens after reinstall. Thanks again, don't know if I am allowed to do this but would like to share the result of the effort for tomorrows funeral, my ex father in law. http://www.mydatabus.com/public/MrT/TributetoDave2.exe. Mr T. OK I uninstalled, cleaned registry, rebooted then reinstalled program, there must be some remains as it installed fully registered in my name. I tried a normal compilation resulting in the same page freeze. tried to do it again via VB directory with same result. I am at a loss as to why, possibly something in this puta not letting it run. That gives me an idea, I'll shut all security down and try again. Meanwhile this is the freeze page. Back again. Have uninstalled again, gone into registry, cleaned out all reg entries for the program. Reinstalled again and had to add reg entries for full program and tried it again with the same result as before, freezes up as soon as I go to above page. I have searched through all security programs to make sure nothing is blocked, cant find anything. I have no trouble at all with any of several other recording programs. This is a brain teaser, hope someone can help. Will contact help when they get back to work after the weekend.

    Help

Hi I'm new here and after a quick search have not found my particular problem. I installed a trial version a couple of weeks ago which worked as a full version for a while. I was able to burn DVD's with up to 280 pics and music without problems. Yesterday the nag screen came up and the program reverted to normal trial mode. I purchased the full version today, (desperately need a compilation for a funeral on Monday) It has activated fine and I have created exe file with no probs however when I go to the record DVD page the page freezes with any mouse click thereon and shows "Not responding" at the top. I have tried several times with the same result, any ideas, have I missed something? Thanks in advance
