Mark,
I thoroughly enjoyed this show too. It has been many years that I spent time on Skye so to see the stark beauty of this wonderful island just makes me want to return.
Some cracking shots. Loved the monochrome one of the trees on the water's edge. Music suited the sequence perfectly though it ended a little abruptly?
No trouble with downloading it though my Norton advised me to be careful?
Well done.....good show.Thanks

A few thoughts on this for what they are worth,
My club is gradually growing an interest in AVs as many are. We have a few visiting speakers for AV evenings who on the most part all use PtE.
However I think there are probably only 2 or 3 in our club that use Pte (including myself) and the rest use Proshow gold. When we have specific 'digital' meets and this discussion comes up the answer always seems as much as anything else to be the actual look of the program and the interface. I believe there is a perception that because PtE doesn't have the brightly coloured boxes and icons that Proshow has and PtE appears a little utilitarian it may put people off. Our world these days is full of icons and images and maybe that is what people want and expect?
One of our members said to me after he had downloaded the trial version that he gave up as he had no idea how to make 'things move' . You probably have to look a little harder in the PtE window than you do in the Photex programs.
I agree with Jill that it is quite easy to make a basic show for a new comer to PtE. However as has been said many times before because the software is developing at such a rate instruction manuals and the like struggle to keep up in a definitive way.

Hi Eric,
I admit that I haven't been following your posts on this saga in too much detail but just picked on your spec list and noticed that you haven't included any Anti virus software.
What do you have in mind following your horrendous journey with your present set up?
We all have opinions as to the best and worst out there. I used AVG for years and found it good and never had a problem with viruses etc and for the last 18mths since my friend built a machine for me and put on Norton that has also performed well . I know it used to be known for giving problems but I have not found any at all.
I'm touching wood here.
I too had a laptop from PC specialists following Barry's recommendations and that lasted 7 yrs which was a very good innings.
Good Luck.

Hi Igor,
Just downloaded beta 8 and it works perfectly. Wonderful. Thank you.
A bug perhaps just on mine?

Igor ......forgot to say
I have made other sequences on this beta and the miniplayer still won't work.

Igor, Good morning,
I don't know if my problem relates to your question you ask about checking the running of some MP3 files on the 25th Oct.
I explained the situation yesterday in the thread on 'Bugs'.
Suddenly having used beta 7 for a couple of days on my Windows 7 laptop all was working fine. Yesterday it stopped playing back the music via the miniplayer.
Whenever the fullscreen was on the mp3 played perfectly Fullscreen via double clicking the miniplayer screen, the preview button and the button to play from any slide.
The tracks are not muted.
My computer sound system works fine. Late yesterday I downloaded Beta 7 onto my desktop and that works ok.
It is just the miniplayer that has stopped playing the music. The images are ok and everything else is ok.
I am using beta 5 on the laptop at the moment so I can still carry on but it is a very strange and sudden problem

I too have a suggestion....(Sorry Igor..all these suggestions will give you more headaches )
Would it be possible to be able to stretch the 'timeline' in the O&A window as we can in the timeline with the Ctrl and mouse scroll wheel. I have no idea if this is possible but it would make fine tuning the keypoints when they are very close together a lot easier.
I appreciate that we have the actual time values on the keypoint tabs but to have them spread further apart graphically would make it easier to see and manipulate.

Eric,
Please don't think I am being patronising in saying this but we have to accept 'change'. Sometimes it is clearly not for the better and we moan about it. That is fine. However with PtE advancing at the rate that it is and knowing that Igor and his team are endeavouring to produce software for ALL users it is pushing your luck to expect him to anticipate and predict how often each of us use which facilities and which buttons, ie Colour button,
The O&A window hasn't changed that much over the last few versions and we just need to 'look' at the whole window and find what we need. You have been using PtE for some considerable time I believe so you are familiar with the general layout. I understand from your previous posts that you haven't always downloaded the most recent versions when they have been posted so that might be an idea to do in future and then the 'changes ' wont be so much of a shock to you and annoying as it seems to be.
I'm sure you'll get used to it. But just be ready for more changes because I'm certain there will be .

Roger,
Having recently returned from a few days in London where we visited magnificent Greenwich we saw this great hall. I thought your youtube clip excellent and very informative. It is your choice to present it in your way and I found this jolly interesting.
Thank you very much.

Hello Maureen,
Once again you have produced a beautiful sequence with commensurate music which is just a joy to watch.
Your photography is spot on with the lighting and textures of this wonderful part of England showing how lucky we are to live here. My wife and rented a cottage on the North York Moors 2 yrs ago and we discovered just how lovely Yorkshire is. There is so much here so keep snapping away.
Thank you.

Barry has literally taken the words out of my mouth by 2 mins. I was just checking your question Laz and about to reply but now there is no need.
How is the rain Barry?

Hi Judy.
Great little show with some super images of the blossom. The bike shots are great.
It is the wk/end before Easter and we have in the midlands tons of the white stuff too. Quite unexpected as I'm sure we are all looking forward to spring???
Thanks for posting it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show. The opening shots with silence are so powerful evoking that abandoned feel.
Very well done.

Hi Barry,
I do remember this AV very well and thoroughly enjoyed watching it once more. The techniques used are as good as you see on many many AV.s these days with all the new animation etc available.
You were ahead of the game then as well.
Hope you won't have occasion to take pictures of the fires that Australia is suffering at the moment. Bribie Island was mentioned Barry and that is where you took Alex and myself a couple of years back......Very close to home.
Take care

Jean ,
This AV is magnificent. A simple but beautifully told story..
I have no idea how it was all done with such realism and correct perspective.. It would be very interesting to see the O &A window.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

Maureen,
This AV is superb. The blend of the audio and the visual matches perfectly to show this stark desolate yet beautiful landscape.
The photography is spot on with some lovely transtitions.
Thank you.

Patrick,

Hi Barry,
I was there too at Chester and remember the situation you had with your position in the tiers, also at the Maltings...........Happy days.

Boogie,
I'm not sure I understand your query as both F3 and F4 functions display all the images on one screen as they should. The slider allows enlargment etc. Perhaps there is something amiss with your set up?

Hi Peter,
I certainly think that such a facility would be useful if it was 'easy' for Igor to incorporate.
I do work with a discipline and structure to avoid these infamous missing slide messages but on the odd occasion a file might go walkabout and then it would be quite useful.
Yes.

Xaver,
Thank you...I never knew that. I have just tried it and it works. However as I always have the wacom pen in my hand being able to drag would be good too.
Thanks..Always good to learn something new.

Igor,
I wonder if this request has already been considered.
Is it possible in the Object list box to be able to drag any object (perhaps not a child for obvious reasons) up or down to change its position rather by Rt clicking and selecting 'Order'?
Rather like changing the layers in photoshop.
I would imagine this would be too late for the next version as that is nearly ready I believe but perhaps to be on the 'To Do' list for a future version.

Cici,
A lovely and charming show.
A beautiful example of your imagination and the power of PtE.
Very well done.
