  1. OK, I got my other computer to burn a video. I even made an ISO image and burned it with my main computer using Image burn www.imgburn.com recommended by Igor and it worked. Now the problem...I have images that look good on monitor...look good in print...look good in P2E .exe slideshow....BUT when I burn to a video...the hilites are blown out. I created an action in Photoshop to drop hilights down 10 points...just wondering if this is the best way or are there highlight drop points for the video? I print to an Epson 7800 and Hilites with detail print at 245. That's what I set my white points to...Is this too high for the Video Burner? Any recommendations? Thanks for all the help in getting VB to work for me.
  2. Mario, No hasn't even crossed my mind to reformat. OH MY GOSH..what a nightmare that would be....Trust me ... I don't want to go there!!!! My burner will burn + or - As far as programs running...I am going to try today and turn off all Virus, etc. running in background.
  3. Thanks guys, I just tried another computer and it burned OK. I will be trying main computer tomorrow and change temp folder. I noticed also on DVD that some highlights are blown out. Images are fine...color/density corrected and look Ok on pics2exe slideshow, but DVD has blown outs...any suggestions? Ken...Yeah, I know. One thing at a time. I just listed the things that I am going to try and HAVE to do (change CD, as CD-R is bad....get errors all the time so just use my DVD burner now) Barry.. thank you too...will try that if other attemps fail on my main computer. I may have found a Pics2EXE glitch though. Maybe I am doing something wrong: when I set up a show, I check the box to sync slides to music. However...it doesn't sync it. It keeps it a default 4 secs per slide unless I go into timeline and click on to arrange points. What am I doing wrong? It used to be that if I clicked sync to music it arranged timed points automatically. I found this out after the DVD finally burned. The slide show ended before music and music was cut off. (Another bad DVD...but at least it completed successfully). Doug
  4. Fred and Ken, Thanks for responding.... I was starting to feel all alone out here. I have been reading the other DVD burning queries and am going to try a smaller show. Am also going to try another computer and replace an older CD-R recorder with a new DVD burner. Would switching temp folder to another drive (empty) possibly correct problem? My C drive is getting low on resources and noticed that is where all folders are set in default. If I do change it to another drive for all settings in video builder, will it remain set to my changes or will I have to change it each time I use video builder? Also...when you are burning a DVD with VideoBuilder what settings do you usually use: checked or unchecked?? Create MPEG2 Files? Create DVD Folders? Create ISO Image? My last attempt was ALL UNchecked.
  5. According to the legal department of BMI and ASCAP you may use copyrighted music and sell a slide show to your client as long as your client brings in the music on a commercial CD which they personally own. You are selling the creation of the show itself, not the music. The music is for their own personal use and therefore can be copied, even by you to be put into their show. No licensing fee is required for this type of use. Again, the customer must own the original CD and you must copy it from that CD to make it all legal. Where you fall into trouble is if you use YOUR music or downloaded music to sell or present the show, in public or even in your studio. Sending out samples of your work with copyrighted music is illegal. true in the USA. Not sure of other countries.
  6. Added note: this is true in USA. do not know of the legalities in other countries.

  8. I don't have personal knowledge but others who have tried it have reported it does NOT work. Virtual PC apparently slows up the system and does not run this program correctly. THere are other threads listed in the past about this.
  9. Igor, That sounds GREAT!!!! I hope it comes about the way you are expecting it to. Sounds like it will solve a lot of problems getting to DVD now. Good luck and Good Work.
  10. Quote: nobeefstu...Such a function is quite effective in detering even the most sauvy user. However ... PTE does not have this function . Such a function needs to be able to be implemented internally by the compiled show exe. Using external 3rd party apps that execute this function wont work to your benefit. I realize the PTE program does not have this function...However, it was mentioned several times in the old forum to have this feature. This feature could be set at the time of creating your show and have it as an option to the maker> Same as the Print Screen key lock that is currently in the program. This way YOU have the option whether or not you want to protect your photographs. Just a suggestion.
  11. Marian, What do you have to do to screen capture an image? Is it a keystroke that automatically does it? In P2E you can set it so the Print Screen button does not work. I know there are other 3rd party programs that I believe use keystrokes. If this is the case, why not lock all keys except the [esc] key (which shuts down the program). Wouldn't this prevent the use of 3rd party screen capture software?
  12. I was a little concerned when I kept getting "website not found" errors. I enjoy and use the forum almost daily. Glad to see you back. So far it looks great.
