"DVD X Maker" used to be called "Dazzle DVD Complete." Dvd X Maker even recognise DVD Complete files. Pinnacle bought Dazzle and all but eliminated DVD Complete, which I have. Neither one of these DVD Authoring programs are supported anymore. 321 Studios has been closed for months now. However, I read somewhere that 321 Studios plan on developing this software further, in the future. Anyhow, to answer your question... This is what I have from DVD Complete help: Introduction DVD Complete™ has been written to support as many graphic, video, and audio formats as possible. Below are a list of these formats. Supported Video Formats MPEG-2 Elementary Video (*.m2v, et al.) stream must be at most 8 Megabits per second to leave room for audio streams on DVD sequence headers must be on every GOP to allow random video access Standard DVD Compliant restrictions on MPEG2 encoded content must be followed the video must be one of the following sizes/rates NTSC 720x480 or 352x240 at 29.97fps PAL 720x576 or 352x288 at 25fps Other DVD Compliant formats will be re-encoded to one of those 4 resolutions. AVI various formats are supported as long as proper codecs installed the video must be one of the following sizes/rates NTSC 720x480 or 352x240 at 29.97fps (auto conversion from 30fps applied if necessary) PAL 720x576 or 352x288 at 25fps MPEG2 Program Streams Video: Same restrictions as MPEG2 Elementary (see above) Audio: Same restrictions as MPEG Layer II audio (see below) MPEG1 Program Streams FOR USE ON DVD Video: NTSC 352x240 at 29.97fps / PAL 352x288 at 25fps + standard DVD restrictions Sequence Headers are required for Random video access but will be added if necessary Audio: 48Khz MPEG 1 Layer II audio + standard DVD restrictions. I haven't had to make any PAL Video yet, myself. So I haven't tested it for PAL.

Admin1, Yes! PTE works like a charm again in Pinnacle Studio. Crystal clear video, Supreme audio and no flickering or dropped frames. Thanks! You all came through once again.

Excellent! Pinnacle Studio often get bad reviews but it's a good program and works well with PTE Video.

Admin1, Just Finished testing PTE4.41 b2. It still has the same problems with Studio 8, only it flickers and flashes more now. However, I did notice that the PTE .avi loads much faster than it did before.

Admin. Just finished testing encoding PTE 4.40 avi in pinnacle studio 8. It works great. Nice, smooth transitions, beautiful slides, Supreme Audio. However, I did notice this time, that when using the push transition along with others, some of the slides sort of fake to the left, as if the push effect is going to to take place but it doesn't. The other transitions happen instead. Happens about three or four times during some presentations, not all. I think that may be a glith caused by my spyware sweeper or anti virus programs scanning the system at intervals. Pinnacle studio 8 can be touchy and wants to be the only program running when your working with it. Pinnacle's support recommends turning off all runnig windows programs and services, except Windows Explorer and other necessary programs needed to kept windows running. I did that while testing PTE beta 4.41. Still it just will not encode the slideshows without jumping and losing slides.. Other than that, PTE 4.40 works like a charm with Studio 8 on my system.

Igor, PTE (beta 4.41) isn't working anymore with Pinnacle Studio 8. It works perfectly in the release version 4.40. Pinnacle 8 is very jumpy. It won't encode the transitions and between every two or three frames there are empty black slides. I tried it with both the "For Pinnacle Studio" button ticked and unticked. Same Slides and mp3 tested in 4.40 and 4.41, diferent results. Spent all day trying to solve the problem. It might only be a problem with my machine but the previous betas work great with Pinnacle Studio. P III 730MHz 384 meg Ram Win XP SP1

The Music sounds great! I don't know what you did to the music player but MP3s that I have been listening to in Irfanview and Winamp sounds much better to me now in PTE. I pick up some of the deeper sounds, bass, drums and reverb that I have been missing in the other players, as good as they are. Thanks. Much appreciated.

This Video option is great. It didn't work at first, until I turned off my memory manager and rebooted my machine. Tried it again and it worked perfectly. I tried several different .avi codecs including : divx3, Mpeg4, Indeo 263, among others. I finally made an .avi with "full frames uncompressed" (which made a 262mb file for a 32 sec. .avi). I then used Bbmpeg (aka avi2mpg2), to convert that file into a 2.21mb mpeg1 file. They all played perfectly. I am amazed. I think I have found new life in video presentations. Bbmpeg is a free program but it's made for win9x and NT. You also need to have directshow installed. It also offers to burn mpeg2, VCD, SVCD, DVD. Hi. I've been using PTE since V. 3.65. I got it because of the objects editor; the ability to go to whatever frame one wants to and the ability to open other programs from links. I was writing a training application and didn't want to use html to go from page to page in a web browser. *The music synchronization is an added bonus for me. Anyway, in the new beta (4.10) When I use midi for music, the balance slider goes all the way to the left and the volume slider drops down to about the third notch on the synthesizer in the windows volume control panel. Also the music sort-of "hiccups" about every 5th or 6th slide change. The sound makes me wish I had an Equalizer to take out some of the treble, add more bass. MP3 sounds good though. When playing from CD, the sound (midi & mp3) studders everytime the cd drive spins up... about 4 or 5 times per song. I'm compiling from: Windows 95 Pentium1 / 233m 52x24x52 cd burner ISA 16 bit sound card 800x600 screen size 30-45 jpeg images. Average size about 50 kb, 640x480. Haven't had much problem with sound until now. *I recently made a synchronized show from pics of some of my relatives and recorded it on to VHS tape using TV out card. They all enjoyed it tremendously. The kids enjoyed it so much that they invited other kids over to watch. Those kids stayed around here for days.... Ate up everything... Drank everything in the fridge until I finally made another show for them, with them in it. They left us foodless after it was done. It was good times though. Thanks PTE... I think. R.
