  1. I have uploaded a number of A/V's to Mediafire via my ISP, Virgin Media, but as of 13th May it stopped working. Virgin Media say they have problems uploading to "Rapid Share Sites" and (so the guy on the Help Phone says) don't know why and don't know when it will be fixed. I know I can use Beechbrook but this is not so convenient for my personal web site. Does anyone have any input or can suggest a site that might work with my ISP.

  2. Hi Jim,

Superb photos, beautifly composed and exposed depicting enchanting islands. A couple of crits - one of the photos looked severly over-photoshopped - for a show of 7.5 mins it needed more people not just the lone weaver. Obviously not deserted islands so why not try tp show the life on them. Having said that I'd have been delighted to take those photos.

  3. I agree with John (JFA) but instead of (or in adition to) keyboard controls why not just increase the screen time of most of the clips. There is so much info in most of the clips and before it can be taken in the next clips intrudes. I love the music and did not find it at all morbid. A great show.

By the way, I had great difficulty getting this download passed my Norton Anti-virus. Normally it gives me an option of re-instating .exe files but this one it just threw out and I had to disable Norton to get it saved. Once saved, I run a scan without problem. Any ideas how I can make Norton more accepting of of Mediafire .exe files.

  4. Hello MickP, I just saw that Igor today has posted that the Mac executables's reliability has been improved in another update! Thanks Bill

Yes it was using the Beta version and I got the same info from Hatter who came to the same conclusion that the ball's in Igor's court. Glad that this may have helped bring the bug to light as I guess that's what the Beta version is for.

  5. Hello MickP, I just tried the replacement and it did the same, About 5 to 7 frames after the organ and piano there is one showing the moat and there the sound simply quits as well as the presentation and very abruptly with no fading out. So nice of you to make one though for we Mac users. Thanks Bill

    Hi Bill,

I have asked Gareth (hatter) at The Digital Site to download the same file and he says he has had no problem with cut off. The last shot of the moat includes a credit roll dissapearing to the top of the screen and a fade out of sound and picture. I think you have probably got all the shots but don't know what is causing the cut off. Sorry.

  6. Hi Mickp,

I'm intrigued to know how you took the internal pictures of the Mote

when NT is hostile to us amateurs by banning photography, during normal

    opening hours, inside their properties.

    Regards, Roger.

    Hi Roger.

A new regime must have got power this year, 'cos now you CAN take photos (no flash) inside most of the properties. The exception is if the furniture or pictures are owned by someone else and they asked for them not to be photographed. You will appreciate how much more scope this gives, so set the ISO has high as you can, get an image stabilised lens and off you go.

    Mickp.

  7. Hello Mickp. Thanks for posting the Mac version but there seems to be a problem where it ends abruptly 5 or 6 frames after the ones showing the piano first and then the organ. It is playing fine with the music and then it just quits and exits out of the program. Of all the Mac executables I have watched both here and at Beckham Digital this is the first I have seen this happen. I am running a 2009 MacPro quad 2.93 Thanks Bill

Hi Bill, Thanks for your comments. There are only 8 frames after the organ but includes titles and fade out. I have uploaded the MAC file again on this link:-

    MAC Link redo

As I have a PC I cannot tell if my upload is complete perhaps you can let me know if it works this time

    Thanks

  8. Again, great photos Maureen. But again I would just like the photos to be on the screen a bit longer maybe cutting down the transition time a little. I know I can pause the show but that is not the point. Perhaps you do not agree as most of your shows have similar timing. Your view on this would be interesting.

  9. Hi Colin,

Kevin MacLeod's "Sovereign" must have been used on countless slideshows as it's tempo and mood are exactly right and it works well on your show. I too have just purchased a Macro and am waiting for some more thinks to grow and will do a Macro Slideshow. Don't know what music to use though. I liked your Little Garden which was well seen and put together. I did think some colours on some photos were over-saturated - or maybe it could be my monitor. look forward to seing more.

  10. Your sequence is a nice use of your photos. Your care in making the presentation is well taken. The credits at beginning and end run a bit fast for me. I was able to note the use of Kevin McLeod's music, but just barely. (I like Kevin's approach to music.) I think your handling of vertical shots is well done and pleasing. Speaking photographically, I've always felt that vertical/portrait orientation is under used. But use in AV will always require special care as part of a sequence flow. You did well technically as well as aesthetically with your methods.

    Editing here:

A little irony here perhaps - A second look at your ending credits, and a second look at my memory, reveals that we both wrongly spelled the name of the musician you credited. To make matters "worse", there are other musicians with very similar names. The generous musician you intended to credit, the same one I complimented, is really Kevin MacLeod.

Thanks for your comments. Apologies to Kevin MacLeod for the mis-spelling. I was concentrating on getting the little "C" and capital "L" correct and messed up on the rest. Anyway i have updated it on this link
