  1. I recently downloaded PTE8.0 onto my laptop. However when I drop images down onto the slide line or the timeline, I see no small image, just a blue box. Also when I pick an image from the list, I don’t see the image in the preview box either. Obviously in preview it doesn’t work either. If I use PTE 7.5 on the same PC, it is fine. Is it a graphic card issue. Or what? I would really like to use the laptop, so I can demonstrate the great new features of PTE8.0 over PTE 7.5. Can anyone advise? Cheers, Richard.
  2. Dear Jim, Are your image files all under 200kb ? Yes they are. most are under 100kb, and I still get that problem. Have you used mp3 rather than a wav sound file ? It is mp3, as that gives much better sound. Is your mp3 file relatively small (96-128kcps usually is OK) 128kps Maybe it is the CD drive. I would guess the exe file is loaded up slowly, and to be honest I haven't tried it without music. Probably because I would like to create AV's with music. I am sure there is an answer, and hopefully I will find it. Jim, thanks for your quick response. Richard Did you use Custom Synch for your music ? Some are, some aren't. it doesn't appear to make a difference.
  3. I would like to be able to run presentations from CD, rather than worry about having them loaded on a hard drive or PC. However if I save the exe file to CD, and I am getting file sizes of 25Mb, the files when they run do not synchronise to the music and basically judder. This isn't what we want. I would love to be able to give someone a CD of a show and say, there you are, just run the exe file and it will run ok. But right now that isn't the case. Does anyone have tips or hints as to what I could try. Is it the PC, or is it the way I have done things. What are sucessful shows on my own PC, well just don't work sucessfully on a CD Help! Many thanks Richard. infodesk@southendexperience.co.uk
  4. Dear All, I am new to Pic to Exe, and have tried a couple of shows, but the resulting file size seems massive compared to those i have seen on the web. I bought Barry beckham's CD, and this has been really good, but I am still fighting file size. The originals are all taken on a Canon D60, and I do all the unsharpen mask, etc on the originals. I then resize all the jpg files so they are 13 inches wide, at 72 dpi. An average file size i get is 270Kb. With a mpg file, and 75 slides, O get a exe file of 25Mb. This is massive, isn't it? How can I keep quality images , and yet cut down on the final file size? Many thanks for your help Richard infodesk@southendexperience.co.uk
