  1. Al, Thank you for the response. I'm still trying to figure this program out, although have learned a TON from your tutorial!! What an awesome help! If I'd watched that FIRST, I'm sure I'd have had fewer silly questions and problems in the beginning. The size issue~ When I was having problems in the beginning, I was told by someone in the group to resize them to about 800 x 600, but that appears to make them too tiny. I shoot a Fuji S2, which cranks out a file about 4000 x 3500, so some resizing is necessary, but just how small to make it run smoothly, allow for adequate viewing, and still not allow good resloution for copying or reproduction? I am a little dissapointed in the fact that these images are not copyright protected. I have been turning out these CD shows for digital proofing for weddings and senior portraits, thinking they were safe. What is the glitch? And how can people get around it? I guess I'll have to go through and add some copyright indication on each slide? Perhaps to a batch thing in Photoshop? This forum is the greatest thing since sliced bread!! Thanks again, Terri Shaver
  2. As a new member of PTE users, who had much difficulty trying to "figure it out myself" in the beginning... think this tutorial should be a must "see" when you download the program. It would relieve all the advanced users of answering silly beginner questions! I wish I had seen it first! I've now downloaded it and will keep it on my desktop for future reference! Thanks Al!! Terri Shaver
  3. Bill, Thanks for the help. But did I miss something? You commented on the images being "safe" if I was there with the customer? If I used the disable print screen, etc. option, doesn't that keep the images TOTALLY safe from being copied?? Am I confused, or is there some way around this program that would allow the customer access to these to either print or copy? Thanks, Terri
  4. Cindy Thanks, But, if I didn't save it to a download file? My husband has always had me download anything new to my desktop, and then install it where I wanted it after making sure it was "safe." I've gone to my Program files and just copied the Program file, titled "Pictures to EXE" to a disk. Do you know if it will automatically intsall it in the new computer? As I said, I'm not real computer saavy... Terri
  5. I just presented a show to a customer who says the images are appearing really small on her screen. I re-sized the images before importing them into PTE as instructed....to make the show run. But there must be a size that will keep them fairly large on the exe that the customer gets? Am I missing something? Thanks, Terri
  6. Has anyone ever maxed out the program? What's the biggest it will run? With my new computer, I can burn DVD's, so I'm wondering how big I can make my shows and still have them run on the AVERAGE computer? Thanks again. This is an awesome forum! So helpful! Terri Shaver
  7. This is the most awesome product I've ever come across and is my "new, fun thing." I have just purchased a new "big, bad computer" and want my PTE moved to it. I'm not terribly computer saavy, so how do I get it from one to another? Copy a file and load in on the new, or just go to the web site and re-download it. My concern with moving it via disc, is that sometimes all the files aren't moved or something gets corrupted. Can anyone advise? Terri Shaver
  8. Thanks for the responses. I'm learning that even as fine a machine as a MAC is, it still lacks in software options. Sorry to hear that I'll have to abandon my PTE....I've just gotten to know it.
  9. I have the Pic to EXE and am going to be upgrading my computer to a MAC. Can I just download an upgrade for the MAC without paying again? I'm selling my laptop and will be deleting the current version. And is the PEXE even available in a MAC platform? Thanks, Terri Shaver
  10. OK, Igor, I think I have this figured out. I was easily able to create a show this weekend! Yes, the files apparently are too big. Thus I will re-size them all before adding them to my slide show. I understand the navigation bar will not be available if I'm synchronizing the music to the duration of the show. Makes perfect sense. It appears to work fine for me with .wav files. In this current show, I've added both and appear to have no problem. Once the project options are to my liking, I'm doing a CTRL +F9, and then a SAVE AS when I'm satisfied with the whole thing. Apparently it saves it as the .exe and the .pte. I still don't understand the PREVIEW button and when I might use that. The other options in project options as far as comments and messages, I still haven't figured out yet, but I'm sure with experimentation, I'll figure it out. My only "complaint" and I use the term hesitantly, is that the printable instructions aren't real clear. I sort of could figure out what button will accomplish what, but there is so much to the program, that I think it could be more detailed. For instance, the file size issue. Had I known that up front, I probably wouldn't have had trouble. The first show I did, only had 52 images, so even though they were huge, it still ran fine because there werent' so many. Thanks for helping me to work through this. I really appreciate your time. Terri Shaver
  11. Igor, I'm getting very frustrated and am spending inordinate amounts of time trying to get this to work. Perhaps I should just uninstall it, and start over. I have version 4.12 on a DELL Inspiron 8200 laptop w/ 1GB memory. The total show I'm currently having trouble with is only 630MB. I've printed out the "instruction" manual and have followed it step-by-step. They refer to icons and settings that I don't even have. No matter what I do, the Navigation Bar will not appear. It doesn't matter if it's checked or not. When I can get it to create a slide show, it plays erratically. Slides double up and sometimes get 'stuck' on the same slide for a while. I've wasted several CD's in the past couple days and am tired of trying anymore. Do you agree with the uninstall and reinstall? I don't want to be a pain, but I've tried so many different things, and it's not all "operator error." Thanks, Terri snapshots photography
  12. I've successfully created one show and have moved onto #2, but am encountering several problems. Yes, I've written support@, but thought I'd post my message here and find help sooner. I'm creating a slide show w/only 4 song tracks, and 130 photos. I am unable to use the preview button without it locking up. I've spent a day and a half fussing with the thing and finally this morning, dumped every trace of that show and started over. I added the images and did all my project options and then hit Create. I was able to create and save the show, but it won't allow me to make any changes or add any more slides to the show. When I attempt this, it just locks up again. Can anyone advise? This was so easy the first time, I can't understand the problem this time. I don't think that's too many slides or an overload of music, is it? Thanks, Terri
  13. Obviously, I'm a new user and finally figured the program out. The help or printable instructions could be slightly more detailed for the "not computer savvy" but through pure experimentation I was able to create and burn my first slide show! What a powerful product! Now, where can I find free music to download that won't land me in the "clinker?" I don't want to download something potentially harmful to me or my computer, but want to have more types of music available. This forum is such a big help!!
  14. I am a new user and have just built my first slide show for photograpic proofing. It was so easy and user friendly. I know it will be a while before I discover all the possiblities with this program. My question... I am unable to get any music to load. Apparently they aren't .wav files. Is there somewhere on the Internet where FREE downloads of .wav files are available? Or is there a way to convert regular music files to .wav files? I am pretty computer ILLITERATE and had no trouble figuring out the program so far, but the music thing is giving me some cause for frustration. Where can I get and how do I load .wav files to my computer for this program? Thanks to all the generous people sharing info on this site!
  15. I just yesterday purchased the program and downloaded it. When prompted to register it, I can't get it to do anything and haven't received a response from tech support/customer service in over 24 hrs. I can't use it and apparently can't get any help. Is this typical of customer service? I don't have a key to enter and never got a response from my initial purchase other than the receipt.
