  1. Ken, yes, all dates are set the same. The cd I tested was made in June, and was to expire by the end of june.
  2. I decided to see if any of my cd's that I loaned to my clients would still play after I had set the expiration date to 21 days. Lo and behold they still do!!!!! Why is that?????? Please help figure this out. Update, I tried the cd on 4 computers. Only one wouldn't play the show. All are Windows XP's
  3. Igor, would like to request a way to add a frame around the images. Even a simple stroke would be nice. It would be a real timesaver than having to add it in photoshop and could dress up the images for client viewing. THanks
  4. Ron, I use a comparison program called CD Presentation from www.imagequix.com It will let you create a screen with your images. The viewer can select images from the viewer, then double click to see them side by side. They can also change them to BW or Sepia. They can save their favorites to a folder and create an email of the poses. They can have a watermark on the images, right click preventable, plus expiration dates or run times enabled. Check it out. You'll want to click on their cd presentation link for more info. The program sells for $199. Mark
  5. I just created a square image file the resolution of the images I use in the show. Example: 1024x1024. I then placed my Name and © across the image multiple times. Then saved it as a gif. Now when I put it into a pte show the copyright infor goes across the image. I lower the opacity in pte to be just visible on the image.
  6. I use a program called Cd Presentation from www.imagequix.com It will let you create a standalone program exactly what your looking for. The client can them click on any images, do comparison, change them to B&W or sepia, and save their favorites. It will also run a basic slide show. The images can have a watermark on them and are also right-click and screen capture enables. It sells for $195
  7. googa, The program I am using along with pic2exe is exactly what you're looking for. It's available from www.imagequix.com. Click on their professional link and you'll find a cd presentation software that lets you create a copyprotected .exe file that allows the client to compare images, change them to B&W or sepia, save them to a favorites folder, etc. It takes me about 5 min to create the show, around the same as for pic2exe. I then burn both the pic2exe and the imagequix show to CD, and I have a pic2exe menu with links to them. It's worth a look.
  8. Mark, one program I just started using as a companion to pic2exe that I put on the cd I give to the client is Imagequix CD Presentation Software. The company is primarily a hosting, ephoto site but they have this program as an add-on for $199. With it you can create a standalone .exe file that allows the client to view up to 40 images at once, click on some and then compare them. Select and make any of them B&W or sepia, add their favorites to a favorites folder, etc. The images can be watermarked also. It's also well copyright protected from right clicking, or screen capturing images. Take a look at it at www.imagequix.com and click on the Professional link.
  9. Igor, just wanted to let you know that your suggestions worked perfectly. THanks
  10. thank you all for pursuing an answer to my question. Igor's suggestion seems the most practical with a few exceptions I think. my situation: The main slide show has the menu of choices (links) for 1. Play Customer Show 2. Play information show about products I offer. 3. Go to my website 4. exit When the menu starts I want music to play and continue playing until user clicks button 1,2,3,4 If they press #1 it goes to the clients image show which has music with it. I create a new show for every client so customizing the pte file and changing the opt_run code might be inconvenient each time. I always use the same name for the pte and exe files so maybe if I can do it once and just change the images. If I press #2 it goes to my info page, which doesn't have music so it would be fine if the menu music keeps playing. #3 goes to my website so with or without music is ok. I will try Igor's ideas first. If anyone else has a solution, please share. Thanks
  11. Bob, I thought the same thing. I just burnt my first pte show using Nero dvd software that I got with my dvd burner and was pleased with the results. No, not as good as on a computer monitor which is higher resolution than a tv, but not as bad a I thought. I also noticed that the imaged looked different depending on which tv I viewed it on. A standard tube set, it looked the sharpest. On a 55" widescreen it looked a bit soft. But still acceptable. Hopefully it will get better as time goes on.
  12. I've set up a pte show to act as a main menu to other shows I want the client to see. I would like to have some background music playing while the main menu is on screen, but stop playing when the user clicks on a new show where it has it's own music. Then when the user exits that show I would like the main menu music to start playing again. Is that possible?? Right now if I add music to the main menu it doesn't stop playing when the user clicks on another show. So two different songs are playing at the same time.
  13. Igor, the new version is looking great. Will the update have a way to keep linked buttons from moving when viewed at a different resolution than originally created? That would be very helpful. Thanks. Mark
  14. Igor, thank you for the updates, Small problem with adding text over an image. The text lands in different places on the image depending on the monitor resolution. Example, If I place it where I like it on an image and change the resolution it will be in a different place. This also occurs when I place graphic buttons that I created on my opening page. They are in different locations depending on the screen resolution. Same thing happens if I add the copyright logo and use the offset. Could you address this sometime and see if it can be fixed?? Thanks Mark
  15. Al, Thanks. I was playing with adding a timeline to the show. I tried to remove it but couldn't. Had to reset all the settings, then everything worked normally.
  16. Hi Igor, Having a problem with the navigator displaying on screen during a preview of the show. If I click on the preview of one slide its there and in object editor it shows up, just not when I do a preview of the show. Any ideas why this happens?? Thanks Mark
  17. Igor, I was just showing a client today how to move back and forth through a show using the pause, back and forth key and having to apologize that the music goes back and forth too and that you have to keep pressing the pause key. Nice not having to do that anymore. Its getting to be the 'perfect' program. Some of my clients ask about going directly to a slide without going to all the previous slides. Will this ever be possible? I understand thats its a slide show program but it's developed into so much more as a presentation/sales viewing program to many portrait photographers. Thanks again for all the great improvements.
  18. Igor, thanks for adding the copyright logo option to a show. Its' so much easier do this option then having to add protection to each image in the show via a photoshop action.
  19. Igor, Thanks for all the new options. Any chance of adding a copyright logo option on all the images at once, or a way to add text to all images at once? Hoping to see that addition, Mark
  20. Igor, thank you for all the great additions you are making. If I can make one request. Could you add a text field that could be placed automatically over each image so that a copyright symbol and makers name could be added? Hopefully its a simple request and will help many of us photographers that want some copyright protection on our images, but right now have to add the protection to each image separately before putting it into the show. Thanks Mark
  21. Not sure if this will help but doesn't the number of characters in the filename is limited to 8, plus the .exe ? I remember trying to use a longer filename and it wouldn't work. I think autorun.inf is a throwback from the old DOS operating systems when the filenames had to be shortened to 8 characters, plus the extension
  22. Hi Granot, I'm trying to use the MuteSound.exe utility but when I preview the show in PTE the mute button comes up, I click on it but the sound doesn't mute. Then the button disappears. What am I doing wrong? Mark
  23. hi, I have used object editor to add the students name to the first slide ( I photograph lots of high school seniors), but that would take too long to put a notice on each slide. To put a copyright symbol on each image with photoshop would work but if I sell the show to the client later, I would prefer not to have the notice on the images, which means I would have to make all the images over again. Pic2exe is the fastest program in my opinion to create a slide show with. Adding some kind of text in the middle of all the images via an option similar to a caption would be great. Another forum mentioned that perhaps using the "unregistered" text that shows up on the images used on the unregistered copy of pic2exe, could possible be activated and changed for registered users. Hopefully adding this feature could benefit other photographers. thanks for your responses
  24. was wondering if there is a way to have text placed over the image as it is being shown. I would like to have a copyright notice go over each image. Perhaps this could be added as an option, similar to adding the picture name to the slide. Thanks Mark O'Connell
