  1. I often return to PTE and MANUALLY align images in e.g. a hyperlapse sequence. There are software that automatically do the alignment quite well, but if the sequence is really off-lined then they just don't work. I like to work with PTE for doing this, even if there are other software for doing manual alignments. I have now been using the grid to help manually aligne the images in PTE. But there are a few, in my opinion small things, that would really help in the alignment process: 1. Being able to chose a number of images on the slides-line and then apply a scale factor for all these images (e.g. change the scale to 150% for all the selected images). 2. In "Objects and animation" be able to change the increment to one decimal when scrolling the variables in e.g. Pan X,Pan Y, Rotate C (in stead of the intervall of one integer). I mean when you "scroll" the variables with the mouse. This would help when making the manual alignment. 3. Also (even if not having to do with the alignment), to be able to change the Blur value for all selected images in the slides-line. Ps. I think I have been requested 1. and 3. before. So if there already are a method to do these, please advise me and I would be happy. Ps. Of course there would be much more that would help in the alignment, like choosing reference points in the images - but I don't want to be too demanding... :-) Thank You, Jan
  2. Two years back classmates celebrated. I only had two images from that meeting but tried to catch the atmosphere... :-) Regards, Jan
  3. Thank you John. I usually publish on Vimeo. I have used different techniques and the most seen one is a panning animation based on NASAs images (HiRise camera) taken of Mars. This video ( https://vimeo.com/207076450 ) has been seen 1.6 Million times and have been published on Wired, National Geographic, CNN, BBC, etc. :-)
  4. Thank you Barry. This presentation was manily made as information about places where I take photos, which purpose I hope it fulfilled.
  5. Thank you! I live in the southern part of Finland where we only can see auroras a couple of times per year, so it is best to take the chance then. But in the northern part of Finland, in Lapland, they can watch auroras wintertime almost every clear night. I filmed "The Post Train" mainly in 2010 with an old EOS D7. This year I finally filmed one missing scene which made it possible to finalize the project. My mother who act in the film passed away in 2015 so she didn't see the final version. The trains seen in the film are maintained by enthusiasts who take passengers a couple of times per year.
  6. Good suggestion! I tried with a solid color rectangle at the bottom, and that helped. By choosing the right degree of darkness and color you actually can minimize the issue. Thanks
  7. Tack. Jo nog är naturen fin här fast man lätt blir blind för den. Och då ljusförhållandena är de rätta så då måste man ut och fotografera...
  8. Hi. I made a simple slideshow for the local camera club, where I show places where I like to go and photograph nature. The area is the southern part of Finland. Unfortunately, all text is in Swedish, but images and nature are international so please enjoy the images. And as usual, the climax is in the end... Regards, Jan
  9. I see... By the way, when I'm in PTE -> Help -> Check for New Version (or Free Update), why does it not suggest version 10.0.14 ? I run 10.0.5 now but it informs me that I have the latest version?
  10. Hi. I noticed an issue in my latest AV-presentation (PTE AV Studio Pro 10.0.5 (64 bit) / Windows). I import one image to a slide that I want as a "background" for text or other objects that I put on top. I then apply quite an amount of blur (positive value) to the background image in Object and Animation. This will cause lightened vignette around the whole slide. And it does not help if I enlarge the background image (make it bigger than the slide). Especially when the presentation is exported the vignette can clearly be seen. To apply blur on an image in PTE is much easier than making a separate blurred image in my image editor. But as always and in general, how easy it was to achieve what I aimed with my presentation... :-) Regards, Jan
  11. No, it does not help to either convert the video and restart the software. The only way I have succeeded to cheat the problem is to bring a copy of these two slides and paste them to a new project, but even then a try to render a higher bitrate than "Quality" don't work.
  12. It's a customers project I do not suppose to send in public.. When I push "OK" on the "Creating a video file (in H.264 format) for PC.. etc." then the "Creating HD video for PC and Mac" window shows up, but the video encoding field shows 0% all the time and nothing happens.. I just found that similar problems were reported on under "Troubleshooting" where I suppose I should have placed this also..
  13. Hi. I have Win10 and PTE 9.0.5 First slide is a 1920x1080 .mov video (not compressed), the second slide is an animation with image elements - totally 11s long "show" - that's all. It wount make a 1920x1080 size .mp4 video? (same type of problem somebody reported I think earlier in this post). Occasionally I can cheat the software by copy/paste the two slides into a new empty project, and it might render a "Quality" video for me. But if I then try again to render a new one with higher bit rate, it freezes and won't render. Restarting the computer did not help. I have a "power" PC just 6 month old (which easily render Davinci Resolve 12.5 videos for me), so it's not up to my PC what I believe. This problem prevents me working with PTE for the moment. Is there any setting I have missed in my workflow with PTE 9? (Ps. My source video is 29.97fps and I try to render into PTE specified 30fps) Regards, Jan
  14. Hi, I use PTE 9.0.5 In Objects and Animation, is it possible to "see" what's happening in the "transition zone" for the previous or following slide? I would need that to synchronize pan and zoom of elements with the movements in the previous or following slide. Thanks, Jan
  15. Hi. I found an old 3D-animation demo I made with PTE five years ago. I did refresh it just a little with features new in PTE since back then (blur, color adjustments etc.). I then changed the resolution to x1440p and rendered it (could have done 4K). Can't remember what resolution my image elements are in the animation, but it looks they are ok for 2K. Five years back Vimeo did not have 2K or 4K if I remember correctly. If your streaming speed allow, you can change the video settings to 2K from the "HD" button. And then you need to have at least a 2K screen... And if wonder who the hell the guy is in the demo, well that's me... :-) Regards, Jan
  16. My traditional Christmas video, Ok it's a video but again put together with PTE. Here how I did it: - shooted with Canon 6D RAW (Magic Lantern) - the raw clips were turned into separate DNG image files with "raw2cdng" software - the clip sequences were then image processed with Photoshop CC/ Abobe Camera RAW into separate JGP files (with increased dynamic range compared to normal H.264 video) - the image sequences were then turned into separate video clips with Davinci Resolve 12.5 (additional color grade, video stabilization, some slow motion etc.) - finally, everything was put together with PTE with adding also the audio. Ps: I used PTE/avi-converted clips in the development stage to better see the outcome, but changed every separate clip back to the original ones before rendering the final video. This way there is less quality loss. Merry Christmas, Jan
  17. Thanks to all of You for watching. And thanks for your comments. Merry Christmas. Jan
  18. As a tradition I have made Christmas audiovisuals the past years. This year is no exception. And again, everything is put together with PTE. Also the audio is put together in PTE from separate audio files. Wish you a peaceful Christmas time. (the link leads to Vimeo) https://vimeo.com/149456868
