Q about pixels size and ratio in Project Options

If I´ve prepared my images (from my Nikon D300) in Photoshop by resizing them to 1626x1080 (the projectors resolution is 1920x1080) what settings do I use in Project Options "Screen and Slide" for the best viewing quality?

__________

Your display - 16:9 and fullscreen (obviously)

Aspects of ratio of a slide - ??

Size of slide - ??

Should I choose "Fixed size of slide" or not

__________

?? = what should I put in there ;-)

I will show the slideshow as an exefile from the computer via HDMI on the projector and only use the effect fade in/out.

I´m aware that I will get black strips on the sides because the ratio on the pictures from the D300 doesn´t fit the 16:9 ratio but I don´t want the pictures to fill the screen because I will do the composition of the picture in the camera and don´t want to take away anything or change the image in any way.

Should I choose "Fixed size of slide" or not - Ticked

You will then get the black lines each side.

It will possibly look even better if you re-size to something like 1000 high to get a black line all around.

Better still resize to 1920 wide and re-compose for best look in PTE Objects and Animation. You can very often afford to lose a little from top and bottom - try it.

jjf,

Regarding your requirements, I would recommend to choose the values as follows:

- Tick "Fixed size of slide"

- Enter 1626x1080 as "Size of slide"

The value for "Aspect ratio" (15:10) will be generated automatically.

You could also choose 1920x1080 as long as all your images have the same size and you avoid animation. If you think of using bigger images and of applying zoom effects, you should better try 1626x1080.

Regards,

Xaver
