Floodplain

Due to the persistent rain in obtober 2010, Flanders suffered a lot from flooding.

Especially the river Dender received a much greater volume of water it could handle at one time.

The water overflowed the riverbanks into the floodplain.

Once the rain stopped pouring and the water started to retreat, I went on a bike ride along the towpath and took some images.

So this is a short impression (my first attempt with PTE).

==================

Hubert,

Super nice show. I like it very much. The haunting music matched the images.

If I were to be very very picky, I would suggest that the couple of zoom-outs be a tad slower and use the "smooth" setting. Other than that, I thought it was great.

Thanks...Gary

P.S. Oh,yea...add an " ' " to "cant" in the intro. Font is a little hard to read.

Thanks guys for downloading and your comments.

Rick, WW1 is almost a century ago and there is much more than mud to identify Flanders Fields.

Just think about our beautiful cities Bruge and Ghent and a few others.

Ever attended the famous bike race 'Tour of Flanders' ? Etc., etc ...

But I understand what you mean.

Gary, I'll keep your suggestions in mind, thanks.

Andrew, Davy and all other members/downloaders.

Lots of water indeed.

Earlier this week it started to rain again seriously and that combined with the rapid thaw last week (we also had some serious snowfall) gives again flooding but more particularly in the French speaking part of the country.

Thanks for your comment.

Special thank to Maureen (private mail)

Hubert
