  1. This came as a shock to the Veterans community in Scotland. RIP Lin. Lin was a contributor to the Veterans [ UK ] TV Facebook Group. No more pain my friend.
  2. The Gardens of Remembrance are an important part of Scotland's life. It's also the world in which I live. I really didn't think there was a presentation in this years images as the contrast between Edinburgh and Glasgow [ weather wise ] was unbelievable. However when I heard that song I knew I had to get it done. I hope you see something you may like.
  3. Before the devastating fire. This is also the first time I have used frames, thanks to Barry's videos. I hope you see something you may like.
  4. and its work worldwide. I've been a CWGC Volunteer for about 2 years now, since my Mem Sab passed away. It involves visiting the CWGC Sites or Plots and Scattered Graves of our WW1/WW2 Casualties. Reporting on their condition ie Stability, legibility of the lettering etc. but also some cleaning if the stone is dirty, which is quite often especially when its under a tree etc. Where you may see a family memorial with just the casualty's name legible, or the only one painted in, its because the CWGC is responsible for that casualties name even tho the family may have opted for a private memorial rather than a CWGC headstone. Where the stone[s] are overgrown its also the volunteers job to clear the debris away and trim the area to 1sq mtr round the headstone. This work is then reported to the co-ordinators who gather such info. I find trees are a menace. It may have been a romantic notion in 1914-1918 but nobody gave a thought to 100 years down the line and the size the trees would be and the potential for damage both above ground but especially below. However, over the last few days I've been closeted with Barry's instructional videos and I'm stunned at the things I didnt know. I particularly like the facility to move the slides along to the peaks in the soundtrack. I still dont know how to embed the video. Sorry. If someone could let me know, I would be grateful.
  5. Thanks Igor. I have it now. That works fine. I've also found that copy and paste is a useful tool.
  6. This is a composite album of images from 2016 - 2021. Ride to the Wall or RTTW is an event where around 20,000 Veterans, Non Veterans, Civies all come together at the National Memorial Arboretum in the UK's Staffordshire County. RTTW didnt happen in 2020 but we came back strong in 2021. The album is my favourite method of creating this type of display, even tho its VERY complex. I hope you see something you may like. I dont know how to embed the video.... Sorry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uj_Yc9Cqg6Q
  7. Is there a way to keep the animation tab boxes checked at all times. I'm finding it a bit tedious having to check them each time a key frame is added or an image added. Please tell me there is a way.......
  8. It seems that function only works on a slide with a single image. Not a slide with an image and child images. Looks like its a full replacement. aw well.
  9. Sorry to be a nuisance, but I simply cant get that to work. The change image button doesnt appear in O/A and if done from the slide list it simply adds an image rather than change it. The properties tab only shows the details. There doesnt seem to be an option to change the image. I know I must be missing the obvious but Im a bit lost at this one.
  10. Is there a way to change an image [ using the change image button ? ] after its been placed in a show with its own key frames and child objects. It will be a lot of work if it cant be done. Any help out there please?
  11. A post lockdown visit to Stirling Castle [ with my Granddaughter ] armed only with my iphone.
  12. How'd you do that Dave? It completely bamboozeled me.
  13. I haven't touched AV 's since Dec 2019. I lost my wife in January 2020 just prior to lockdown v1.0 and we [ in Scotland ] pretty much didn't move till a fortnight ago. Thankfully my Granddaughter came a calling and we had a fabulous 4 days together. We visited Kelvingrove Museum which she loves and I thought it an opportunity to get my act together. Kelvingrove is on the West side of Glasgow and one of the best museums in the area. I do hope you see something you may like and if your even in Glasgow book a place and give it a look see. Ive forgotten how to embed the code for youtube!!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ws-GafazRlU
  14. Hi Dave, after much scratching and gnashing of teeth, I figured out that with video already in the timeline and then converting the soundtrack to MP3 it also converts the video track into the MP3!!! So when I tried to play it without the video track even tho I had ticked the mute box, the MP3 still played the video soundtrack. I hop this makes sense the way I've explained it. So I have it working to my preference now without the video soundtrack. Thank you for taking the time to offer help. I do so appreciate it. Don't know what the hell I've done here but this funny line has appeared and I can't get rid of it. (edited by Lin to remove strike through).. Some forum software issue - just retyped and deleted... Andrew
  15. I tried to post this question on the Facebook Group but it keeps getting marked as spam and blocked... I've added several video clips to a set and want to mute the video's in favour of the soundtrack [ MP3 ]. However when I play the preview, the video still has sound but after the transition time. I cant seem to mute the video even after ticking the mute box. Any ideas please?
  16. I was invited to travel back to Auschwitz as a guest of the Ayrshire [ Earl of Carrick's Own ] Yeomanry at the end of October 2017. Having been once before [ 2009 ] I accepted gratefully. The museum has evolved by some margin and communication is now electronic which is most welcome. Nothing however can diminish the feelings of horror from that place. The educational aspect is without question the most important thing they can do to try to avoid the mistakes of the past. I have a feeling that we'll be back... https://www.slideshowclub.com/files/file/499-auschwitz-revisited/
  17. Glad you enjoyed it Lin. Quite an experience... especially the temperature down there.... HOT!
  18. Thank you Jill. I knew there had to be a way, but was a bit lost. Many thanks. Yours Aye Andrew
  19. This will be very simple for you guys. I went to adjust the transition time from the default as it was almost instant [ v 9.013 ] and I discovered that to do so I had to alter each slide individually. Is there a way to set the default as another time and transition...? I may not have explained that properly but hope you can get what I mean.. Yours Aye Andrew
  20. On the 31st of October as part of our Pilgrimage to Auschwitz and Birkenau, we [ The Old Comrades of the Ayrshire [ ECO ] Yeomanry, visited the Salt mines in the suburbs of Krakow. The experience was incredible, almost 500ft below the surface was a labyrinth of caverns and chambers with intricate carvings and statues made entirely from salt. On my last visit to Auschwith [ 2009 ] I didnt get to see this, but thankfully we did this time.. This is my interpretation of that visit..
