Joe Hogan Posted November 29, 2012 Report Share Posted November 29, 2012 Hi everyone... a newbie question for sure but I have searched the help section and can't find a relevant post.OK... I have created my DVD and my photos have turned out a lot better than I had expected so I am quite pleased with the software so far. There are a few files I will have to redo (probably my own settings when I saved the jpegs). There is some colour loss but the DVD in general is acceptable.I have been googling a little and found one person who advised using bmp files as opposed to jpegs for DVD creation. Lin Evans Posted November 29, 2012 Report Share Posted November 29, 2012 Hi Joe,Assuming that the jpgs are not overly compressed (smaller number than Photoshop 6) there really is no advantage in using bmp files. There will almost always be a slight change in color when creating a DVD because the gamut for the television is slightly less than for a computer display. I shoot in RAW and yes, I do notice the colour aberrations in some areas on the DVD I made this morning. I think I will redo the files as bitmaps to see for myself if there is a big difference.
