Zooming Out

Apologies if this has been raised before, but perhaps someone can help

On creating a show in the latest beta version, I have noticed that when zooming out of a picture the action seems to accelerate as the angle widens.

This may be an optical illusion, but it can be a bit disconcerting

Has anyone else experienced this ?

Am I doing something wrong ?

Can it be avoided/controlled ?

All advice welcome

Fergy,

This is an optical illusion - in fact the actions in v.5 are all perfectly linear.

However, Igor added a "perspective" option which increases the speed of approach at the end of a zoom to more closely simulate reality. You can activate it by selecting "Perspective correction for Zoom" under the "Common" tab in "O&A". I'm not sure what happens when zooming out with this control applied, but I suspect it slows down the action toward the end.

Now I am back, I have tried suggestion

It does seem to help when zooming out - but not wholly

Initial zoom out now is faster, while latter part of zoom slows down

Still not wholly consistent feel, but definitely a significant improvement

Perhaps the guys could tweek this adjustment slightly to balance this out

Again thanks for the help

"The guys" will introduce the "speed option"

(see Igor's post here : http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....ost&p=30897

1) Speed.

Currently all speeds (Pan/Zoom/Rotate/Opacity) are absolutely linear.

In the next betas we will add other non-linear modes (Accelerate/Decellerate, and custom values).

It will be a wonderful addition, probably in next beta... :)
