What a great way to begin my weekend with four new slideshows to watch. First off, let me say that I really enjoyed all four shows. It does my heart good to see a man and his family out in the beautiful outdoors. It appears that you have upgraded your camera based on the improvements from the Wind River show. Man, you’ve the eye and now coupled with a good camera; you just have many very nice photographs. If I may make a suggestion regarding presentation, the varied formats distracted me. I liked the 1280 x 853 size the best, especially when showing landscapes. Also, some titles and music credits would have given them a more professional feel.

Again, great job. Thanks for sharing your talents and send us some more.

Regards,

Dave

Thanks for that I really enjoyed your shows.

Could you tell me where the music from the second half of the first show was taken ?

I was expecting not to be very interested in the second show, but I could not have been more wrong and enjoyed it probably the most of all.

Some great images in all the shows. Loved the final one of the last show.

Agree with Dave that you need some sort of titles and its always nice to know the music used.

Thanks again

All the Best

Neil

I'll try to answer as many guesions as I can in 1 post.

"Could you tell me where the music from the second half of the first show was taken? "

The music is "CRISTOFORI'S DREAM" by David Lanz

The CD liner notes:

In 1709 in Florence, Italy, a harpsichord builder named Bartolomeo Cristofori completed work on what is regarded as the first piano. He replaced the harpsichord's plucking mechanism with a hammer action that allowed keys to respond to varying degrees of pressure, resulting in a sound that could range from soft to loud. He further refined the instrument in 1726, installing knobs at both ends of the keyboard which became a forerunner to the soft pedal. Cristofori's work elicited little notice in his home country, where opera dominated public interest, and he died without fanfare at the age of 76 in 1731.

"I cannot imagine the world without the piano. In my mind, it is the most divinely inspired instrument on earth, and Cristofori's work produced quantum-leap advance in its development. For the first piece on this album, I imagined Cristofori in his workshop late at night, putting away his tools and blowing out his candles after a long day of work, wondering to himself how his new instrument might sound. He drifts off into a deep sleep and in a dream he finally hears the depth and beauty of our modern piano. We all owe Cristofori a debt of gratitude, and this album is dedicated to him, a great inventor whom history has overlooked. May his 'dream' live forever." - David Lanz

I choose it for the "dripping rain" sound I was trying to invoke at the beginning, and the emotional tone of the end

The first half of the soundtrack was George Winston's' version of the Vince Guaraldi classic "Cast Your Fate to the Wind"

Soundtrack for UWBestof is Telepopmusik " Breathe"

Soundtrack for the Wind River's is the "Dances With Wolves" theme.

Soundtrack for "The Seasons" is Mannheim Steamroller's "Mere Image"

As far as cameras, yes the Wind River show spans ~ 35+ yrs and was mostly shot on Kodachrome 64 with a 1 lens Minolta SLR and is scanned from the slides.

The same with the UW photo's, all are film, shot with an Ikelite UW housing, but all but 90% are shot on Fuji Velvia w/ a Nikon n90s.

"The Seasons" was my first half and half foray into digital production. Half are digital, half are film. Half are Fuji Velvia slides shot from Nikon n90s w/ a plethora of lenses, and half are shot with a Fuji S2 with a plethora of lenses

The 25 day self-supported Beartooth trip is the only full digital show of the 4 and is a compilation of my shots w/ a Nikon D2 and my wife's Canon IS2.

Glad you enjoyed them. These were only produced to show my family what I've been up to, through the years, my annual "Xmas cards" for the most part. If they appealed to all of you than I'm doubly blessed.
