Thanks for all the help and advice, I'm still digesting it all. What I have seen and read so far makes perfect sense. One thing that really jumped out at me was from JRR's post in one of the linked lectures and that was the wording "Show off your images, not the software". Dave mentioned to look at some of the highly rated Landscape Photography show and that is what I'll be doing next. Thanks again for all the help and advice. Regards Mike

Being very new to making slideshows, can I ask the more experienced photographers on the WnSoft forums what makes a slideshow better? I've already learned not to leave watermarks on slides as they are often distracting but I'm not sure if people prefer normal transitions between slides like a simple dissolve or if they prefer more animated transitions. Other things such as how long should you give the viewer to look at each slide, how important is the background music. There's so much to ask. Hope this all makes sense.

Thanks for all the help and advice Lin, really appreciated. When I started out on the slideshow I just took the images from a gallery on my PC and dived in. As I learn more about PicturesToExe, slideshows and taking on board your advice, I will use new images without the watermarks. Thanks again for all the help. Regards Mike

Being a wildlife photographer, I spend many hours in hides and some of these not very productively. During recent wildlife photography trips, I have been taking images of the landscape around where I photograph the wildlife and have tried to make a slideshow of what I see on my visits. Never having made a slideshow before, I have relied on a lot of help from members on the forum, so a big thank you to all who helped. So if you can spare a little over three minutes of your time, please take a look. Most of the images are in my local area of the Derbyshire Peak District. When I use the Experimental Four Part style, it gives the slide the name of Image 1 and calls all the slides done as Four Part Image 1. All the other slides in my show have their names taken from the image title. It doesn't change the way the slide works as part of the show in any way so it's not really a problem but it would be good to be able to read the slides title if at all possible.

Thanks for the reply Lin. Are you aware of any "tutorials" on how to use the Unsharp Mask feature to "oversharpen" images in the way you suggest in the Deluxe version? Also can I ask if there is a difference in Unsharp Mask and Dynamic Unsharp Mask?

Thanks for taking the time to reply Igor. When you say I can partially use Dynamic Blur in Essentials, do you mean Blur - Zoom In and Blur - Zoom Out? What I managed to do in the "trial" version was to add a slide, slightly blur it and then add two new images on top of the slide. In the Essentials versions, I can add two new images on top of the slide but I cannot blur it at all. Would I be able to use Unsharp Mask to sharpen my slideshow to improve the quality when it's shown on YouTube?

Having downloaded the trial version of PTE, I have now paid for the software. What I didn't realise was the downloaded trial was the "De Luxe" version. Now having bought the "Essentials" version, I find I do not have Dynamic Blur which I had used in the downloaded trial. Unsharp Mask is also missing from the Essentials version. Can anyone please advise what can be done to a sldeshow presentation with Unsharp Mask that would make it worth me upgradinging to the full version, could it be used to make my presentation any sharper when being viewed on YouTube?

Please excuse my ignorance, but what do I view the slideshow on? I clicked and downloaded the show but then I was asked what app (Windows 10) I wanted to associate the show with. I tried VLC Media but couldn't see anything. Thanks for the help.

My main need for PTE is to create a slideshow that I can post on Facebook be this direct to Facebook or via a link to YouTube. Will I get the same "degraded" quality either way? Which way would be better?

If I can get it clear in my head, instead of uploading an image as I would normally do in a Facebook page, I just upload the MP4 file that I created in TPE?

Thanks Dave. On the Facebook link it says: "Choose a video file from your computer". Please excuse my ignorance, but can I ask what a video file is and how can I turn my TPE slideshow in to one?

Is it possible to get a slideshow on to Facebook at all? I was intending to publish to YouTube and than post the YT link on Facebook pages. Is this the best way to get a slideshow on to Facebook?

Thanks for the help, I'm getting there, slowly. PTE is a remarkable programme and I'm sure in the hands of someone capable it can do great things. One more question if I may. As I have the 30 day "Trial" version, will the banner showing Created in a Trial version of PTE disappear from the project I have already made when I pay for the software or will I have to start again once with a new project I have paid?

Having made a small slideshow, mainly just to try and learn my way around in PTE, I'd now like to save the project file to an external hard drive. Can anyone please advise where in the file system (Win 10) I can find them/it? As usual, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all the help Dave, it is really appreciated. I'm now in the process of reducing the JPEG file sizes and then I can start and add the smaller images to the project.

Hello Dave, it's not so much the image quality as the file size I'm trying to reduce. When I convert to MP4 and then upload to YouTube, even with a small "trial" slideshow it takes almost 20 minutes. I thought if I reduced the image quality in Photoshop from say 10 down to 6 or 7 it would help as it also reduces the file size. I was mainly wondering if there was an optimal image quality when saving from Photoshop. I did see a video on YouTube where they mentioned saving in Photoshop but, as always I can't find it now. Added On: I just found this which is part of a .PDF from Bedford Camera Club. c) Saving – Use ‘Save As’ & save into "02 Images for Show" as a .jpg at a quality setting 6. Saving at a higher level will not improve the quality but will increase the file size & could affect the slide show speed.

Thanks again Dave. Do you know if there is a min/max image quality to use when saving from Photoshop? I can watch the MP4 video through my PC just by clicking on the file, does the mpc-hc download do something different?
