  1. No problems here either. Netscape and Explorer both fine.
  2. Can not reach the URL. Please use the http:// button to insert the link. Thank you Norbert
  3. Pal is: 768 x 576 you might have a slight distortion on the horizontal axis. Try to crop to this size and see if it helps. I have only teorethical knowledge because I have not burned my first disk.
  4. The photographs are exellent. Shot with the proper lighting. Very good composition and colorfull, some of the early morning mist when the fishermen go to see I was expecting. Excellent work! Hats off.
  5. Which operating system? Which Video Card? Do you have the latest video card driver for your operating system? Might be a problem with the video card. Try to set to no video aceleration if it works without a hitch then it is either the driver or card.
  6. Yes Ron and I thank you very much for your time and effort I played a bit and came to the conclusion that there are situations where a 3rd image will add suptle improvements but in most cases it will only distract. BTW is inserting a black background between two slides called a 3rd image. This I find very helpfull on occasions. Please take my ignorance in slide shows in to account since I am totally new in this matter. On the other hand I am a bad designer with little creativity. Not so with technical stuff. Googled on the issue with no results, same on the Adobe Premiere Forum.
  7. Thanks I am still on this computer at 5am. Will give it a whirl. I understand now.
  8. It's 4 o'clock in the morning. Played your show about 20 times but can not crasp the so called 3rd image. Is one of them a composition of slide Street Furniture and Dome-Liile inserted between the two garden slides?
  9. Thanks for this detailed explanation. At this moment I am only design slides, but my postings are geared to reach the knowledge I need to produce good shows. The program in itself is very easy. No problem with it. The technical stuff before bringing a show into PTE and the Export are the more trickier issues. I am on my way.
  10. This link was provided by nickles it has some good reading. My Webpage Well I think a different approach is needed. The plastic molding of every TV set covers part of the CRT Tube. That is way editing software should have a grid for a text save area. I often use Premiere and it has this box. I think the developers of PTE should incorporate this save text area.
  11. Thanks Ken. Good link nickles. Thank you. Now I understand why your 90% works, but there is a better way described in the calculation provided on the entire site of the link given. Is it necesary, no. If it works why fix it. I posted this topic because I want to know and prevent mistakes down the line. Since my first show involves a lot of time in design and picture preparation. If I can design in a way that allows batch processing in Photoshop using actions I will be all set. Studying the calculations given on this site I can design this way. What it comes down to is: NTSC 4:3 601 standard is in reality 702X540. This is why 90% works. In real good design it is better to resample and crop the original 720X540 to 702X540. This way there will be no pixelacion. Even if TV is worse than Comuter it is my understanding that every little bit helps specially if no much extra work is included. There are three ways: First crop to 702X540 and lose the part on the sides. or fill in with black or do nothing and use your method. Up to now I have only made a few trials in PTE to see how this program behaves and I must say very good. I will use it for slide shows. I will mention that I also have Premiere 6.5.
  12. It is recomended to use 1024X768 (4:3 aspect) but NTST has only 720X540 with the same aspect ratio. Considerations: If PTE reduces a jpg the picture must loose quality and in considerable amount specially if sharpening was applied to it which BTW should be done for any digitaly produced file resulting from a scan or a camera. Should resizing and sharpening be done in an outside editor beforehand? If the answer is yes then an other question arises; should one have two slide shows on a disk: one for computers the other for TV viewing for quality concerns or even three the other being for PAL? Any input will be highly appreciated.
  13. I can guess. Could this be easer done in Premier? And can a Premier slide show be converted or transfered to PTE?
  14. Want to do presentations: Use Power Point. This is a Program specialy made for Presentations. You got this harsh reply because of your yelling!
  15. Fit Image does not detect the position on the screen. Here is what is does. Fit Image fits the current image to the width and height you specify, without changing its aspect ratio. It is the same as I mentioned before. I work in PS6 CS makes it a one click. That's all. Thanks for the suggestion. I might be wrong but don't think so. This is a feature often requested from Adobe but not yet implemented to my knowledge.
  16. Put the Premier disk into the drive. As soon as it starts loading Stop it Now go to My Computer and Right Click on the drive letter. Select Explore navigate where it says "Using Photoshop for Premier". There you will find a tutorial on how to make slide shows with stills in Premier. Very easy.
  17. If you have these Adobe Programs would it not be feasible to buy Encore DVD. I thingk you would have a seamless integration from start to finish.
  18. That might well be but I use PS which provides me with the tools I need, but it's good to know. Actions, batch, Layers and layer grouping , Alphas, Filters, Styles, ICCs etc. are very important for me.
  19. There is nothing more Irish in the world on St. Patricks than New York City. The whole town gets green even the beer. A parade which last 6 hours.
  20. Thanks folks. Al I designed 3 pointers. One like a laser pointer, one like a hand holding a mouse the other similar to your one.
  21. can you elaborate on the above? Sure. The quality does not change if you rotate in PS. I did not know how many picture Patty had in Landscape and or Portrait mode, so I sayd (all in Landscape) because I gave dimensions to be set in Width the hight being constrained to the proportion. Example 700 Pixels for width would give for her 10x8 picture 560 Pixels for the height. If she had that same picture in Portrait mode this width would be now 8 inches and the hight 10 inches, when typing 700 for width she would in effect make the picture larger because the 560 pixels from the former height will now be in width and typing 700 will enlarge it to 700 x 875. Using batch it would make some pictures larger. Having them all in one mode gives same sizes. It does not matter in which mode they are. If I had given the data for Portrait mode I would have sayd type: 560 for width. Hope my description makes sense.
  22. Do not know what's the problem, but it might be that the frame or plastic molding of the Tv screen covers part of the screen on a Tv set. Premiere from Adobe has a save area marking in the editor. You can not use the full area for important parts of a picture when seen on TV.
  23. Is it posible to replace the navigation bar with a custom designed one? I envision a well designed interface. The actual one being functional lacks estetics to a lot of presentations I have looked at: this includes the one I am designing right now. New kid on the block with too many questions? Regards Norbert
  24. I have looked at the pictures but have no clue how they should be used. Nobody is posting on the forums there. Would like some one put a sequence up. One transition is all there is needed to see how the pictures are suposed to be used. Up to now I see only different pictures and can not figue out what to do with them. Clue me in! It's going to snow in New York and I will have some time to fiddle.
  25. I run all my pictures trough Image Ready jpging them to the smallest file my quality standard will allow. This is not good at all to print pictures. I will use the the time limited feature to keep in contact with the customer. When the time runs out they will call to get more time and I will be able to make sales pitches. I do not care how often they watch the show. Necesary- No Desirable-Yes.
