  1. Thanks nobeefstu, it all came back to me following your explanation. I'm sure that's how I did it originally. I had been looking at it trying to work it out for ages! Job done
  2. I’ve been using PTE for a few years as a proofing tool. I have a series of slides at the beginning and end which are either blank or are instruction/advertising slides and between these I have all the images with the file names under. For a new show I just use one of the previous and replace the image files. When I originally set things up I either removed the comment on the instruction slides or had those comments in black so they disappeared against the black background I use. The default is set to white text so that any new files added have a visible image number under. I now want to add a new blank file and can’t seem to work out how to remove the comment on just this one file.
  3. I’m making a new show and would like to have the images simply fade between one and another, but with each image zooming in slightly. I’d like to set it up with every image the same and then go in and fine tune individual image. Is it possible to automate this? Thanks
  4. I’m making a DVD to play on a widescreen TV. Despite doing a search I can’t find a suggestion as to what is the best resolution to resize all my Canon images. I have always resized images for previous shows to 1024 X 682 and these have always looked fine, but now with the zoom option they don’t look so great. I really don’t want the hassle of resizing images differently, depending on whether I plan to zoom into them or not, but would rather just make an action to resize everything.
  5. Well there’s a restoration project for a keen DIY’er if ever I saw one! Some lovely photographs there Neil, of what must have been a wonderful building. Observations on the slide show; the haunting sound track was a good choice, but for me the opening titles were a bit long and I struggled to keep interest until the very end. It kind of got a bit predictable. Maybe if it was a bit shorter or there was more variation with the blends or pans it may have kept my interest more and maybe the titles could have come in a sentence at a time over several slides.
  6. It’s always difficult when buying software, upgrading etc. I paid a little extra for the business option and am a little disappointed that I could have just gone for the ordinary consumer version, as by now upgrading to deluxe I have missed out. The deluxe version automatically includes business! Ideally I would have liked to stay on the free upgrades forever bus, but I also understand that it has also got to be worthwhile for developers. Maybe Igor would have been better to allow free for life updates for VB also for those who stuck with the package over the years. PTE is now a truly great program and I’m sure when version 5 is released and further refined it will be assume the mantle of the number one slide show software.
  7. Actually, I think the camera effect template demo is superb!
  8. There is your answer sbmongoose. With all the development and features in the new version, PTE is still excellent value, even with a limited Video Builder licence.
  9. Maybe I can offer a partial answer to your question here. I was under the impression that as a former registered PTE user I would now be entitled to free upgrades for life. I assumed this would stay the same if I upgraded to the Delux version. However, having just upgraded to Delux, when I click on ‘about’ in Video Builder it seems that I am only registered for upgrades for two years! I’m guessing how this works is that I will still get free upgrades to PTE, but not to any future versions of Video Builder? Hopefully, by doing the upgrade I have now not lost my lifetime upgrades on PTE.
  10. Yes, as there is already a feature to add a shadow I would guess that it wouldn’t be too much of a job to incorporate a Keyline. Like you say it would be great to be able to set pixel width and colour of line and maybe also options to keep the line constant or to have it expand and contract as you zoom in and out. That way you would have the best of both worlds. Maybe Igor could let us know if maybe this is possible?
  11. No, I mean a line or stroke around the outside of an image. It’s used often in magazines to define the edge of an image and is usually only a few pixels wide. You can do this easily in Photoshop but then when you zoom out the image, the line gets thinner. I would like to be able to set a line that stays constant however large or small the image was zoomed.
  12. I wonder whether it would be possible to add a Keyline option in O&A, with options to either keep the Keyline constant at a set number of pixels, or to have it expand or contract an equal amount, in relation to how the slide is zoomed in or out?
  13. I was thinking about this as well. I like to add a keyline around my images and with the previous version of PTE this worked well as the images were a constant size. Now with the zoom and pan feature when you zoon an image the keyline (if applied in photoshop) gets thicker or smaller when you zoom in or out. Maybe Igor could add a keyline option alongside the drop shadow option in O&A.
  14. Wow we went on that too! Make sure you include the whistle in your soundtrack….all aboard.
  15. Well then we may well have met already! I'll certainly make a point of coming to say hello when we come back.
  16. Yes that’s an option, although for some reason Nero wouldn’t copy a PTE DVD I had burnt in Video Builder! I’ll have to try it again.
  17. I guess the best option would be to be able to save an AVI file, when producing a DVD in Video Builder, which you could then go back and use to burn further coppies?
  18. Maybe I can help. Just left click once on the thumbnail, so that it comes up in the little preview window (top right). Then type your comment in the comment box, directly below ‘show image’ (also on the right, under the slide). If you then click on O&A the comment is featured, or if you click on the small preview (top right), the slide , with comment, is shown full screen. Beta 11a.
  19. Great memories for us of our honeymoon in New Zealand. We loved Queenstown! Very impressive titles.
  20. Just click on the thumbnail you would like to add a comment to and then type the text into the comment space on the right hand side/middle of the screen. You can even click on the image to preview what it looks like full screen and the comment featured. This way is actually a lot easier/quicker. Stevie
  21. Igor, you mentioned a while ago that you would add ‘number of DVD copies’ and also that you had asked Sergey to add a ‘create ISO’ button. I would still like the option of burning multiple copies, preferably after I have burnt the first and checked for errors. Perhaps you could give an update for us. Thank you.
  22. Actually seems easier to just click on the slide and then delete the text string…simple when you know how!
  23. Fantastic Igor…that’s great news, I’ll get straight on it. I’m really enjoying the new functionality of PTE V5, its just taking a while to learn my way around again….it will be worth it in the end though. Thanks
