  1. Hello Bill,

In 'Project Options', 'Music', select "Show Music Duration". Does this give you the correct time?

If not, reload the Music file.

On the 'Timeline' at the end, there are two indicators. One shows "End of Music", the other shows "End of Last Slide".

If "End of Last Slide" occurs before "End of Music" the music will be truncated.

    Hope this helps.

  2. "I have had some trouble with using Video Builder to burn the .iso file, but have also had success. Yesterday I tried several times where the process would show no progress on the % meter, and then within 10 seconds say it was complete, but nothing was done."

    Hello Lumenlux,

I have had exactly the same problem using Video Builder to burn .iso files. Reinstall of PTE & Video Builder was of no help in my case. This problem occurred with the introduction of "Video Builder improvements" in version 5.03, no problem with 5.01 (I skipped 5.02). Unfortunately I deleted 5.01 before I discovered this issue.

Perhaps we can have some input from Sergey.

    Limey.

  3. Hello Peter,

You are quite correct in your original thoughts on this. All "Effects" accessed from the Effects Tab start at the beginning of a slide. There is no 'fade-out' effect possible in the Effects Tab, so this transition is mis-labeled. Imagine a show with a single slide, the only way to get to get it to fade out is to add another slide (blank) with fade-in.

However, as Ed pointed out, if you are using version 5 O&A, then anything is possible.

  4. Hi Ken.

Yes that's the spot. Each template has the 4x3, 16x9 .ini files. Just change the COUNT=? to whatever you want.

I use the options available in Video Builder menu page to create personalised menus using:- back ground images, changing "button" properties, text, navigation buttons etc. then using "Templates" option at top of templates display to "Add Template", rename and save.

    Cheers,

  5. If presentations are triggered from a menu system (PTE 4.48) using hyperlinks how do you get over the problem of the links appearing in different positions when shown on screen resolutions different from the one on which the show was created? I would be interested to know if anyone else has this type of problem.

    Geoff

    Hello Geoff,

In PTE 4.48, in Object Editor you have the option to "group" objects such as menu buttons by selecting them all and then selecting "group" from the options at the top of the page. This will result in all the selected objects retaining their relative positions to each other.

You can also check how your menus will appear in other screen resolutions by using "Preview in" at the top left corner of the Object Editor.

    Cheers,

    Limey.

  6. I still am confused about this option.

Like Ken Cox, I want to add separate comments to each individual slide and version 5 seems to only add a single comment to ALL slides. Am I missing something? For example, If I want to add "church built in 1856" on slide 1 and then add the comment "John & Mary on thier wedding day" on slide 2, how is this done in version 5?

The old way seemed to be a lot easier so why has it been removed?

    Ron West

    Hello Ron,

Adding separate comments to each slide has not changed in version 5. Main page "Comments".

  7. I currently use PTE for proofing slide shows as well as AV shows of weddings, portraits etc and use the comment function to add the file number under each image. The exception to this is for the blank , corporate branding and instructional slides at the start and end of the show. Idealy I’d like to just turn off the comment here, but as that’s not an option I basically just use the customise function to change the comment text to the same colour as the background, so it doesn’t show.

However, in beta 11A the customise comment function for individual slides is not available.

I’ve just purchased the Video Builder upgrade because a customer has requested their proofs on DVD rather than CD but then discovered that I can’t get rid of the comments on some files. Is there a workaround for this or will Igor be re-implementing this function soon? I understand that I currently have a Beta version.

    Thanks

    Hi Stevie,

To delete unwanted comments on a slide:-

-Open slide in Objects & Animation, select the relevant text, this opens the text box "properties" Delete the Text.

  8. Something I have never tried and I don't know whether it is possible. I have music running in the background - that is fine. Now I want to add a caption in SOUND on each slide for people with limited visability. Is that at all possible? And if so how do I do it?

    yguy

    Hello Yguy,

The easiest way to do this with the current PTE, is to use your microphone and record each sound comment as a separate file. You can then add these individual "comments" to the appropriate slides on the Main page. ("Sounds" just below "Comments" on Main page). You don't have to select "Customize Slide".

    Limey.

  9. I have a pte file approx 7 minutes long. When I burn to DVD I get the first few images staying on the screen for much longer than they should then the screen goes blank. The music plays fine.

The first 4 slides take over a minute to play (the pte file show end of slide 4 at 18 seconds). It then jumps to slide 12!!

All slides have been resized to 1024 x 768 max.

    Anyone else have this problem?

Which version of PTE beta are you using? Similar Video Builder problems have been reported when using PTE beta10 download. These problems were fixed in the Video Builder associated with PTE beta11.

    Limey.

  10. Hi Lin,

Thanks for your suggestion. I have put the menu file and the show file in a single zip on mediafire. It can be downloaded from:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?72mgiinhwvu

Pleaase be aware that the zip is around 10MB and it took about 7 minutes to upload. Although there are 3 options on the menu only the Overview is linked to a show.

I would very much appreciate it if anyone can find the time to test this. I would also be interested to know how the Esc key works. It worked fine for me on my PC but did not work on a CD version I burnt with the same files.

    Peter

    Hello Peter,

Downloaded your file and had the same symptoms you described. Hesitation and shimmering on Title and on the rotation animation of the court plan.

The other exe file, with no menu slide, was flawless.

    NVIDEA GeForce 7300 card

Esc was OK on PC, I didn't burn a CD

    Regards,

    Limey
