  1. I do all of my DVD burning with PTE including ISO produced with other programs. Limey
  2. Hi Redbutton, No problem for me. I get the same screen as Eric, click Download and I watch your entertaining show. Regards, Limey.
  3. Colin, Just to add another benchmark. I'm running with Windsows XP, Intel Pentium D 2.8Ghz, Nvidia GeForce 7300LE. This is probably an inferior spec to your system. Using PTE 7.0. Video Builder compilation of 12 minute, 112MB, 130 slides takes 30 minutes. I suggest you review your Videobuilder Project Options settings, perhaps show us a screenshot. Regards, Limey
  4. Hello Mick, Before you spend time troubleshooting your monitor I thought you would like you know that I confirm your findings of "shimmer" during the pans. Earlier versions of PTE had a selectable "mipmapping" option to fix this. I believe this function is now automatic. Regards, Limey
  5. Yes Eric. The Youtube video available for download in your message is the last one I was streaming from Youtube yesterday, nothing to do with your video. Not a glitch at your end Dave. Regards, Limey.
  6. Hello Michael, My solution to this problem, and it works in most cases, is to add a contrasting Drop-Shadow to the text. This option is available in both Project Options, Comments, and when adding text in Objects and Animation. Regards, Limey.
  7. If you are using Video Builder, why don't you burn your DVD from the ISO file using Video Builder? Or am I missing something here? Limey burn.doc
  8. Hi Isabel, No worries on low power machine. Streamed perfectly on netbook with atom processor and 1GB RAM. Limey.
  9. (On a MODERN DVD player it should not make a difference. Standard DVD players are now PAL/NTSC compatible. At least that's been the the case over here in the UK for a few years) Not in North America Dave. Standard store bought DVD players are NTSC only. Limey
  10. Gary/the Dom Why do you add text in O&A? Do as Yachtsman suggests. Main Page, "Comment" box at top of screen, select Icon at right of box, this opens a text box. Paste your text, edit as required. regards, Limey.
  11. Hello again John. It is possible to set different Comment attributes for each slide. Set your requirements in Project Options for your landscape slides and DO NOT select "Set for existing slides". Title your landscape slides with these settings. Change attributes and do your portrait slides. Hope it works OK, Regards Limey
  12. John My suggestion does not put the same comment on each slide. Main Window, top of screen "Comment" (Caption/Title). Whatever you put in here is only for the displayed slide. Progress through your slides adding comments as required, not necessarily on every slide. You can return to the Main Window at any time to edit a comment. In "Project Options" you can then set the attributes for all of the comments; position, font, size etc. "Set for existing slides". Limey
  13. Hello John, Perhaps I have misunderstood your requirements, but is there any reason why you can't add your slide titles via the "comments" box in the main window. Then set font, size, location etc. in "project options". P.S. I'm using PTE 5.5 if that makes any difference. Regards, Limey
  14. Peter, Just for interest. When you experimented with DVD burning did you play the result on a DVD player/TV combination or on your computer? I have found that when played on the computer the results from Video-Builder are terrible but using the DVD player/TV the results are equivalent to a commercial DVD. Regards, Limey
  15. Jeff & Xaver, I'm using Ver 5.5 Auto Font Quality only seems to maintain the quality of a text object that is Zoomed. If unselected and a low number is manually inserted in the box, the text quality deteriorates when size is increased by zoom. I fail to see the utility of this. I agree with Jeff that it would be useful to be able to specify a consistent font size instead of having to change the size of the text box each time. Regards, Limey
  16. Hi Ed, I'm using ver 5.5. No problem using 'Print Screen' from O&A window. Sorry can't be more help. Limey
  17. Hello Jim, I'm using ver. 5.5. For File list. Select "View" menu, Deselect "File Panel as Thumbnails". Is this what you wanted? Limey.
  18. Hello Jim, I had this problem once in the past because I had inadvertantly selected the "Include addiotional folders and files to disc" option in Video Builder. (Below the Burn DVD disk command). Regards, Limey.
  19. Hi mcinal, >>I have verified the customize music dialog box and left the default settings of fade in = 100, fade out = 10000. My understanding of this customize setting is that the menu music should fade in at 100 ms and fade out in 10 seconds and repeat that fade in and fade out as long as the menu is left displayed on the TV. Is this correct?<< Could you try again leaving the above settings at their default values, fade in 100ms and fade out 100ms. My interpretaion of these settings is that they represent the 'length' of the fade not the 'time' the fade occurs. So you have 10.1 seconds of fade in/out on 10 seconds of music. Hope this helps. Limey
  20. Hello Peter, No discernable difference between the four test sequences on my DVD/TV. The smallest acceptable level for 4-5 seconds of text; somewhere between your 'Zoom 5 Bold' and the 'Zoom 10'. Limey.
  21. Hello PF, Perhaps I'm missing something here. Doesn't the 'Page Effect Horizontal/Vertical' or 'Page Effect Diagonal' give you what you need? I use these frequently to add/subtract text from a background slide. Not to be confused with 'Curl of Page. effect. Best Regards, Limey.
  22. >>With the advent of flat screen (LCD) TVs, surely, nothing is now "hidden" by the tube surround.<< Not True Dave, I have 'Flat Screen' TVs and set PTE shows at 95% of full screen to ensure edge to edge coverage of DVDs. Best Regards, Limey.
  23. Hello Craig, Have you checked the quality of your images when the DVD is played on a TV? I think this should be the first step before messing about with PTE settings. Limey
  24. I confirm the above "False Positives" when using Avast. Once notified they normally fix these things very quickly. Limey
  25. Great show John, definitely a keeper. Having visited all the locales in your show I have one small criticism. The photos of the Pinnacles and Remarkables suffer from having nothing in the frame to give the viewer an idea of scale of these objects. Warmest Regards, Limey.
