  1. Hello Derek, I suggest you dowload the comprehensive Tutorial by Lin Evans & Jeff Evans. Adding text is described on Page 15 and Appendix C4-C5. The Download Link is in Ken's post above. Regards, Limey
  2. Welcome Lorie, For your slideshows to be accessed by your scout troop you should consider using "Mediafire". It's free, you upload your slideshow .exe and send emails to the prospective viewers telling them where to find it. www.mediafire.com Regards, Limey.
  3. nobeefstu, Oh yes. I'd forgotten about the "Create AVI file " possibility. Let's hope speleodave gives us more info. Regards, Limey
  4. Speleodave, >I don't see the flicker in the regular show on the PC, but it shows in the video preview.< If you are talking about the 'preview' shown during video compilation, the transitions you see are not representative of the end product. Go ahead and Burn the DVD, it will be O.K. regards, Limey
  5. Hello Doug, Before you do too much adjustment in Photoshop, have you played the video on your Video Player/TV? I find the "blown highlights" seen on the computer screen are perfectly normal when viewed on TV. Regards, Limey
  6. Hello Bill, In 'Project Options', 'Music', select "Show Music Duration". Does this give you the correct time? If not, reload the Music file. On the 'Timeline' at the end, there are two indicators. One shows "End of Music", the other shows "End of Last Slide". If "End of Last Slide" occurs before "End of Music" the music will be truncated. Hope this helps. Limey.
  7. "I have had some trouble with using Video Builder to burn the .iso file, but have also had success. Yesterday I tried several times where the process would show no progress on the % meter, and then within 10 seconds say it was complete, but nothing was done." Hello Lumenlux, I have had exactly the same problem using Video Builder to burn .iso files. Reinstall of PTE & Video Builder was of no help in my case. This problem occurred with the introduction of "Video Builder improvements" in version 5.03, no problem with 5.01 (I skipped 5.02). Unfortunately I deleted 5.01 before I discovered this issue. Perhaps we can have some input from Sergey. Regards, Limey.
  8. Hello Peter, You are quite correct in your original thoughts on this. All "Effects" accessed from the Effects Tab start at the beginning of a slide. There is no 'fade-out' effect possible in the Effects Tab, so this transition is mis-labeled. Imagine a show with a single slide, the only way to get to get it to fade out is to add another slide (blank) with fade-in. However, as Ed pointed out, if you are using version 5 O&A, then anything is possible. Regards, Limey
  9. Hello Colin, My solution to this problem is to use white text with a black drop-shadow or vice-versa, or some other combination of contrasting text/shadow. Regards, Limey.
  10. John, This problem is probably because you have chosen a large font for your monitor in 'Display-Properties-Appearance'. Try resetting to 'Normal'. Regards, Limey
  11. Mike/Carole, Don't forget you are creating a Movie, 30 frames/second, frame by frame, and you want the last image to stay on screen for an infinite time. That's a long movie. As Hemir pointed out, you must select a finite time for the last image in your .exe. Regards, Limey
  12. Hello Janet, Make sure you also select "Set for existing slides" as per Igor's screen shot above. Regards Limey
  13. Carol, Have a look in the "Tutorials and Articles" section of forum. "Tutorial on Modifying DVD Menu Templates" Excellent tutorial by Mary warner. Regards, Limey
  14. Hello Mike & Dom, I think the question is: Is it possible in Video Builder to have an introductory slide show before the menu appears? I haven't found a way of doing this yet. Limey
  15. Hi Ken. Yes that's the spot. Each template has the 4x3, 16x9 .ini files. Just change the COUNT=? to whatever you want. I use the options available in Video Builder menu page to create personalised menus using:- back ground images, changing "button" properties, text, navigation buttons etc. then using "Templates" option at top of templates display to "Add Template", rename and save. Cheers, Limey
  16. If you use "Auto hide mouse cursor after: x seconds", the cursor will become invisible "until the mouse is moved." At the completion of the mouse action the cursor will again become invisible after "x" seconds. Does this suit your requirements? Limey
  17. Hello Silvia, You can have more than 4 buttons on the page. Find the template folder, open it. Find and open "Options.ini" file. Change COUNT=? Save as a new template. See attached file. .ini_file.doc Regards Limey
  18. Hello Geoff, In PTE 4.48, in Object Editor you have the option to "group" objects such as menu buttons by selecting them all and then selecting "group" from the options at the top of the page. This will result in all the selected objects retaining their relative positions to each other. You can also check how your menus will appear in other screen resolutions by using "Preview in" at the top left corner of the Object Editor. Cheers, Limey.
  19. Hello Ron, Adding separate comments to each slide has not changed in version 5. Main page "Comments". Limey
  20. Hi Stevie, To delete unwanted comments on a slide:- -Open slide in Objects & Animation, select the relevant text, this opens the text box "properties" Delete the Text. Regards, Limey
  21. Ken, No difference, ver 4 or 5. Limey
  22. Hello Yguy, The easiest way to do this with the current PTE, is to use your microphone and record each sound comment as a separate file. You can then add these individual "comments" to the appropriate slides on the Main page. ("Sounds" just below "Comments" on Main page). You don't have to select "Customize Slide". Regards, Limey.
  23. Which version of PTE beta are you using? Similar Video Builder problems have been reported when using PTE beta10 download. These problems were fixed in the Video Builder associated with PTE beta11. Regards, Limey.
  24. Hello Peter, Downloaded your file and had the same symptoms you described. Hesitation and shimmering on Title and on the rotation animation of the court plan. The other exe file, with no menu slide, was flawless. NVIDEA GeForce 7300 card Esc was OK on PC, I didn't burn a CD Regards, Limey
