  1. Make that thousands and thousands and one. Welcome back Guido!
  2. John, Congratulations on your soon to be new arrival. I suppose I'll be a bit apprehensive too if someone told me I would be leaving the sunny L.A. to go to Alaska……... But I'm sure the love she'll get from you and your family will keep her nice and toasty. Ray
  3. John, The interface may seem a bit intimidating at first, but it can be easily mastered in less than an hour. Just do some experimentation with a few slides and you’ll be a pro in no time. In addition to PTE’s wonderful features and quality, it also has the best technical support of any products I have ever seen. PTE’s tech support department has hundreds of staff who can assist you with problems and various techniques in putting together an awesome slide presentation. We call this tech support department “The PTE Forum”. We don’t get paid much (actually we don’t even get peanuts) but we love our job. As for ProShow, there are some people here who have tried it (including myself), but IMHO compared to PTE ProShow = NoShow.
  4. Wow....so much to read, so little time. Thanks again everyone for your feedback. Ray
  5. Thank you Al. I'll check these site out when I get home this evening. Ray
  6. Thank you everyone for your helpful suggestions. I don't use Photoshop very much. I usually use Ulead'd Photo Impact an have gotten used to its interface. It looks like now is the time to fire up the PS and go through the learning curve. Does anyone know of any tutorial sites for PS? Ray
  7. Hi folks, Does anyone know what would be the best way to apply a border around a series of photos (batch mode)? I think a white border around the photos on a black background looks very cool. Also, any suggestions as to how wide in pixels they should be would be much appreciated. Thanks, Ray
  8. Or provide a set of ear plugs with your presentation.
  9. Why not! I'll go with option 3 too. Bahhhhhhh.....
  10. Working on Bob's DVD version as we speak.
  11. Sono d'accordo. l'idea eccellente
  12. LOL at Granot. Does it do the dishes too? Now that’ll be a feature worth paying for. Nice job and I hope you don't mind the humor. Ray
  13. I would still argue that PTE is a better product for making VCD, SVCD, or DVD. How? well that's a long story that rquires reading this. Ray
  14. It's not relly the size that matters. It's the longevity. From all I've heard and read, LCD lasts longer than Plasma.
  15. I am sorry Bart, my bad. I shipped you a plasma version just the other day. Please send it back as soon as you receive it and I'll ship you a LCD vesrion instead. Ray
  16. Keepsake, Welcome to the PTE community. The only time you will get consistent timing for your music and slides is if you synchronize your show to the music. In the project option, is your show synchronized to the duration of the music? If not, your mileage will vary every time you play your show. Ray
  17. Dana, It was this Sharp Model. Check it out. I saw it at Best Buy. I also compared this to a Sony Plasma model and there was no comparison. Speaking of anniversaries, mine’s coming up. Maybe you can buy one for my wife. Ray
  18. Well, if it was for free, I would take either one. If it was with my own money, I would definitely take the LCD version. The one I looked at was great at any angle and the brightness was perfect. So Dana and think(box), my B-day's coming up!
  19. So who's the rooster?
  20. So who's the rooster?
  21. Thank you for your input everyone. I think the LCD would be definitely a better choice, especially if I'm not looking for a large screen. As for playing games, that's not a concern. I don't think the wife would let me play computer games in the bedroom anyway, and as for the other games I don't think I would want to display them on a screen.
  22. Sound like a cooking receipe!
  23. If you were planning to buy one, which one would it be, the LCD or the Plasma screen type? I've been looking at both types with same resolution rating. The LCD version appears to be lot sharper and crisper. The colors are also appearing very uniform and solid. The picture on this Sharp Model is amazing and it would fit perfectly above our sliding door in the bedroom (assuming I can sweet-talk the wife into getting one ). The picture on the Plasma versions seems to be somewhat grainy. What's your take on this or any other brand worth looking into? Ray
  24. Heck, I can beat that. I have a really, really big cardboard box in my garage that's almost completely empty! (It's the only space in my garage that isn't 100% stuffed w/junk). Talk about valuable storage! :-) Dana Dana, How about a HP storageworks VA7110, or better yet, EVA5000?
