Hi Eric maybe you are right but I think being open and upfront about cost will avoid some of the negativity surrounding the release of v8. I still hear people complaining about Wnsoft reneging on their promise for free lifetime upgrades, and whilst I have every sympathy for Wnsofts reasons I think they need to be open about this release and "re-build a few bridges". I know of a few who were angry enough to swap to ProShow, which is shooting themselves in the foot as far as I'm concerned, but they are customers Wnsoft can ill afford to loose.

A simple question about cost appears to have stopped this thread in it's tracks ?

Will 8.5 be a free or paid for upgrade?

Hi Lin if you want a more familiar look to Windows 8.1 take a look here http://www.classicshell.net/ I've been using it for about 6 weeks, and find it gives the best of both worlds.

Hi Igor
Like Eric I purchased my new licence yesterday and was charged as follows
Total Purchase Price: 30.00 GBP (46.39 USD)
If this is now being cut to £26.40 can we get a credit towards the next upgrade
Congratulations to you and the team on a superb product.

The problem with version compatibility has been raised many times when talking about run with return with all versions of PTE. If all the slideshows you are using are your own, and you are methodical with your files and backups, then converting everything to the latest version, whilst irritating, does not take that long. The problem comes, as highlighted by Eric, when for whatever reason all you have is the slideshow exe file. This then excludes that show from any menu system which uses run with return. I don't know enough about programming to even begin to understand the difficulties involved in making menu systems version independent but if it could be achieved then it would certainly be a great help. As far as I'm aware if all you have left is the exe file then there are no viable options within PTE to create a menu which re-appears when a slideshow ends. This leaves only third party software as an option (such as PlayView_v1 and the programme used by Barry Beckham)which I think may be a missed opportunity as far as wnsoft are concerned. Igor's thoughts and reasoning's on this would be interesting to hear.

That still doesn't improve the situation where the menu builder only has the Exe, that needs to be addressed before we start flag waving.

Not sure what you mean here Eric, could you elaborate please

Thanks for all the info, and I can confirm that run slideshow with return works when the ptshow file is selected from the menu.

If shows are published in the safe exe format, can a menu system still be used to run them using the "run slideshow with return" option?

Hi Lin
Thanks for all the info, I'm not sure what the pro's and con's are for "run application" and "run slideshow with return", old habit's I guess, I've always used run with return, so I'll probably stick with it. It's a bit of a pain converting existing shows, but doesn't take that long really, and not something that has to be done that often.
I will now sit and watch your excellent shows with the lights low and a glass of something warming.
Best regards

Hi Lin
Did you use "run slideshow with return" on the text links or a different command. I always use run with return, but I thought that required all shows, and the menu to be created with the same version, which can be a pain at times.
Thanks for your time

Hi Lin very impressive and elevates menus to a new level, well worth the download. Question, did you have to redo all the slideshows in the new version, or is there a way around the version mis-match when creating menus?

There is yet another way in Photoshop using the Difference blend mode to align images. For a step by step tutorial see here

Lightroom 5 is now available and appears to work quicker than previous versions, and has some nice new features. However there are problems with some output resolutions, which Adobe confirm exist, so it would be better to wait for the first hotfix to these problems before committing fully to the new version.

Bermuda_C.exe runs ok with no errors, but Bermuda_Efix.exe triggers the error message.

Hi Igor
I'm afraid that version brings up the error message also. Is it possible to remove the Print screen protection on these small shows so I can send you screen shots of the error?

BermudaTest_V3 gives the error message

Hi Igor thanks for your reply. I would draw your attention to my comments above concerning people switching software, and suggest that a paid for .5 upgrade so soon after the release of v8 will not do a great deal to help the situation. I fully understand the need to maintain a revenue stream, but sometimes a gesture to placate disgruntled customers will pay greater dividends in the longer term.
