Right on Granot maybe Bush et al should elect you to to the world judicial system -- but common sense seems to have got lost thru the years ken
-
see http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....1&st=&p=entry for the scenario also you can dowload a quick trojan check from mcafee at http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ McAfee AVERT Stinger Stinger is a stand-alone utility used to detect and remove specific viruses. It is not a substitute for full anti-virus protection, but rather a tool to assist administrators and users when dealing with an infected system. Stinger utilizes next generation scan engine technology, including process scanning, digitally signed DAT files, and scan performance optimizations. the day before yesterday the web became very slow for me yesterday the stinger program was updated as well as getting 2 updates on my AVG software i ran stinger and avg and came up clean ken

Leopard welcome to the forum have you made a dvd or done any dvd work with your Roxio 7 software? I have the full Roxio suite and tho' IMHO it is not too user friendly it will make a dvd -- i cant quote the exact steps but from the help file of the program How to create DVD-Video disc Using PicturesToExe you are able to produce AVI video file which can be easily burned as DVD-Video disc with help of any special software (read below). Even it is possible to create SVCD disc on usual CD-R disc with high quality of image and sound (almost as DVD-Video). PicturesToExe provides fast and lossless transferring of video and audio for converting into DVD-Video format. This allows to keep excellent quality of your presentations and very smooth transition effects. Advice: please create usual EXE files for playing of presentations on PC, and DVD-Video disc if you want to play your presentations on DVD players connected to TV. 1) Preparing of AVI file file in PicturesToExe: Start PicturesToExe; open your project; and then call AVI video output dialog ("AVI button in the main window of PicturesToExe"). Choose "NTSC" TV system, if you live in United States, Canada, Japan, Taiwan or South Korea. Choose "PAL/SECAM" TV system you live in Europe, Australia, Africa, or in any other country. Select "DVD-Video disc", if you have DVD-Writer or "SVCD disc" if you have usual CD-R/RW drive. "Interlaced for TV" option is highly recommended to get excellent quality and smoothness of transitions on TV. You can click "Preview" button to immediately see the resulting presentation playing as video file. In this mode, please ignore that transitions may be shown not so smooth. But on burned DVD-Video disc all transition effects will play excellent as in usual EXE file. Also we recommend to make sure that text fonts are enough large to be readable on the screen of TV. Now click the "Create AVI file" button and PicturesToExe will produce video file within 10-30 seconds. Important note: Please don't click "Finish" button until you didn't fully burn the DVD-Video disc. 2) Converting and burning AVI video file into DVD-Video disc: PicturesToExe can not burn DVD-Video, so you need to make use of any special software which can convert produced AVI video file into DVD-Video format and burn the disc. We recommend you to use Ulead DVD MovieFactory2 http://www.ulead.com/store/dmf/runme.htm which can do it. Also you will able to make simple DVD menu. (In this program, please don't forget to choose NTSC or PAL/SECAM in the Preferences window. To call this window, press F6 key). Please click the "Finish" button in PicturesToExe when the disc will be fully written. (Temporary AVI video file will be automatically deleted, because it is intended only for converting into DVD-Video format.) Enjoy with your recorded DVD-Video or SVCD discs! Advice: SVCD on usual CD-R disc gives almost DVD video quality Even if you don't have DVD writer, you can burn SVCD on usual CD-R disc via CD-R/RW writer with almost DVD quality! So it better never create VCD video which will looks very blurred and shows terrible transition effects. And DVD or SVCD will make maximally possible (for TV) details and smoothness of transation effects in your presentations. SVCD video disc can be played on any PC with CD-ROM or DVD-ROM and software for playing of DVD video disc. Or on most of stationary DVD players connected to TV. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: Advanced users can use "Create custom AVI video file" option for various purposes. This allows to produce AVI video file with necessary audio and video codecs (MPEG4, MJPEG, etc). the above is also found here http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1408 as well as many other tips ken

Deb - does the cd play bad on both your computers? can you try it on somebody else's computer? sometimes you have to copy and paste it to the other computer to get it to run proper -- i had to do that a week ago so a collection of exes would play for an elderly couple -- the computer just did not have enough power to run from the cd ken

well Granot you better take a trip to NA and try to get a picture copied that has been done by a pro -- walmart etc will not do it -- they respect the pro ken

jevans when you download the zip the history text file includes the changes of all versions right back to PicturesToExe v1.00 (July 2nd, 1999) ------------------------------------ * Released PicturesToExe v1.00 and the members are so demanding for new versions the help file revisions kind gets pushed aside the members generally help people that are really stuck -- and ver 4.43 was a full version quick patch for a member's problem if i remeber correctly PicturesToExe v4.43 http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr.zip (1,4 MB) What's new in v4.43: * Fixed bug with an error message during overwriting of a template in PicturesToExe. ken

well Igor pinned a thread that said he was updating the forum but people are posting questions as to when the next version of pte is coming as tho their life depended on it so the pinned thread is screwed up already Igor has likely lost a week working on the new version trying to get the problems with the board sorted out and they are not all sorted out yet -- imagine being a dedicted person working 5 hours ahead of some guys 4000 miles away ken -
Tom i have 3 main dvd programs, nero 6.6 suite, most user friendly and can burn multiple disks once the first is compiled and burned -- real fast if you set it up to go to cache and not disk at once WinDvd that came with my ASUS MOB -- NEXT USER FRIENDLY - it has a place in my collection of utilities - is slow compared to nero and does not burn multiples but has some neat fades if you had multiple shows going on disk-- i have never tried all the features roxio 7 suite i bought it because i was familiar with the old interface - is least user friendly of the 3 so only use certain features -- i installed the full suite so it is the default iso file burner if i get an iso to copy to a working disk -- and it has the drag and drop feature installed so that when i installed nero the nero drag and drop was blocked by nero -- a big no no in the old days to have 2 drag and drop programs -- have heard many horror stories i have several other utilities on board but use them for specific file conversion etc i see no difference in the quality of shows i sub to a group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/advanced_cdr/ and there is a lot of info being discussed re dvd's now -- it was initially for cd problems but dvd problems are now being discussed wish you well ken

David welcome to the forum. May your problems all be little ones ken

Rather than inserting Invision Power Board v2.1.1 problems helter skelter in other threads i suggest we enter them here then Igor can easily sort them out with Invision Power Board v2.1.1 © 2005 IPS, Inc. Ron West is having a continuing problem getting his web site url to work so he can try different styles in this thread if we enter all our board problems here they will not get lost and others may have the answer and we can all learn worth a try ken
