  2. i use the original editpad classic for my logs - http://www.jgsoft.com/ -it is set up as my default text editor - no longer available - editpad lite and pro replaced it - simple and has no limitation as to file size ms notepad is limited to 64 kb i believe i ran both shows on all 3 settings 800X600 1024X768 1280X960 still prefer 800/600 easier on my tired eyes:) as you have stated many times "likely Ken has the show" - yes i generally d/d' all mentioned and do view most of them them at 800/600 -- am absolutly astounded by some shows -we has some great photographers on this forum - no fun for me to take picts anymore -- body dont move where i want to get -- would like to be able to convert some of the d/l'ds to dvd to sit/lay back and enjoy ken

  7. Granot quite some time back Andrew Busst started a thread re recording outdoor sounds in the discussion many sites were brought up including the following i will put Scott Connop's first as he used to work for me:) http://www.birds.cornell.edu/shop/agNepal.html http://www.birds.cornell.edu/MacaulayLibrary/ http://www.naturesongs.com/birds.html http://www.naturesongs.com/ Rob TYmstra is also from my former place of work and a friend http://www.ornithographs.com/ ken
  8. Ron has his counter working and it works ken
  9. these are my comments I wrote to Igor off list Hi Igor you "resolution setting" thread is a real can of worms "Maximal quality of images for slide-shows Results of testing" i did a search and here are 3 of what i figure the best http://www.sketchpad.net/basics8.htm http://www.microscope-microscope.org/imagi...-resolution.htm http://erms.samsungusa.com/customer/sea/js...D=28&PROD_ID=-1 but with my 19" crt type i still prefer 800/600 until i get to where i have to put text in or work in the object editor have just added these three to a couple sections in my p2e problem file:) one of the reasons i dont use my roxio ver 7 -- it demands 1024/768 to do any work other than copy a disk later ken after i wrote my feelings to Igor, i forgot to add this one http://www.normankoren.com/makingfineprints1A.html one of my best buys was to get the 19" monitor a few years back and i still run 800/600 -- am trying to build my slush fund to buy a new 19" lcd -- when testing them at the stores i first set them to 800/600 before i go any further and ramp back the contrast and brightness to 1/2 way, then i look at familiar folders/scenes my feelings are that the higher resolution settings are for laptops, not the desktops -- very seldom do i have to do horizontal scrolling when i go to MS or like sites guess people have forgot their beginnings --14" monitors and 640/480 res and the statement saying "best viewed at ----" resolution is the author's opinion -- next thing we will be seeing " and you must be in a darkened room a minimum 6 ft back from the screen" "different strokes for different folks" ken
  10. Glenys see your other thread http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=2&t=3560 ken
  11. inge_s that is how it works the first thread http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=4&t=1408 it is a lot of reading but it explains the process Igor uses windows media player temporarily to make a temporary avi file when you shut down p2e the picture portion of the avi goes bye bye so do not try saving it if you have software installed that you can import the temp avi into and save it as a mpeg then it is now permanent and then maybe you can import it into pinnacle and make your show when we first started to make vcd's svcd's and dvd's there were many problems and there were a lot of work arounds till we figgered what was going on i think if you use the search feature of the forum you will see that pinnacle and ulead caused a lot of problems ken
  12. back in win 95 days I had a hard enough time getting started to run wizip, so by the time i got winxp i wasnt about to change -i am kind of partial to the "C" clamp and file cabinet icon - one of the first things i did was install my copy of winzip and make it the default zipper - but in the short time it was not installed i did see these icons that were zips but in a xp clothing and i have seen them on other people's systems that dont have winzip installed so using google as a engine i came up with this see If you're using Windows XP, it already has the ability to create .zip files. To create a .zip file, first select all of the files you want to add. Then, right-click the files, select "Send To" and "Compressed (zipped) Folder". http://www.cs.sfu.ca/CC/125/ggbaker/instr/xpzip hope this gets our lady zipping in short order ken
  13. as Brian says this board is very fidgity - look at all the double posts - i made a reply the other day clicked once screen went blank - finally shut down the forum restarted and found i had 2 entries -- 2nd one http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=4&t=3554 this is unecessary and Igor is not getting value for his money[ screwed] obtw it is 08:54 edst ken
  14. Glenys using the forum search this link/show proved quite popular and there is an embedded link as to how to do it i had quite a time saving the embedded doc - if you want a copy write me off list http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...273&hl=panorama http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=2&t=2645 http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...612&hl=panorama and [took me long enough] ken nickels put up a show in april this year http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...hl=pte+panorama and http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...hl=pte+panorama so if you get in touch with these authors am sure they will be glad to help ken

  19. not there Igor and your host site -- this one -- is very unpredictable today -- it is either not there or slower than molasses in January other sites are ok problem could be Katrina ken
  20. Isabel think you are going to have to supply more information for anybody to give you more help file sizes compression bit rate of both tunes are just a few things that you are going to have to supply in the interim see http://www.codeproject.com/audio/dshowencoder.asp you will see what we take for granted is really not that simple - there is a whole lot of things going in the background:) ken
  21. did you try copying all the pictures from the cd to a folder on your hard drive -- then try starting the program fresh direct it to the "new" folder then file/new and select all the picts and add all and then do a save as create as under a new name then shut it all down then start p2e again and try to open "new name" ken
  22. Mysty well that is normal -- everybody that is going to access your site does not own a copy of Pict to Exe -- tho' Igor would like them to what you need to do is load you completed exe's to your web site how you do it i dont know but when i accessed your page, you have urls leading to faq's and help for the angelfire site - try them and i posted links http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=2&t=3540 Mysty see this thread http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=2&t=2913 ken to other threads that should give you a hint ken
  23. Mysty see this thread http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=2&t=2913 ken
  24. Val welcome to the forum well now why dont you just burn the exe to a cd --- with nero make a file disk of the exe and put the resulting disc in your laptop hook up your projector and then drag the exe to your laptop's desktop and run the exe ken
  25. the exif thing has been discussed before - search brings up many hits notably see some tests i ran at http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...&t=2470&hl=exif so if you are attempting to diddle your pictures make sure your graphics program does not delete the exif info Irfanview can delete it if the wrong default setting is made i dont know everything it is telling me but there is a pile of info there if one was troubleshooting and wanted to compare pict info i do very little digital so my scanned picts do not have it but as i mentioned in the WALMART thread http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=4&t=3513 they do embed it on a picture cd so there must be a reason -- the same as they code every print on the back so they can troubleshoot their process as well as your print see http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=exif&b...le+Search&meta= http://www.takenet.or.jp/~ryuuji/minisoft/...ifread/english/ ken
