  1. Granot xp holds a set of backup files, so if your remove one it is replaced if you go to http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/s.../start_corp.asp and do a free scan, it will tell you what you have to disable in order to remove the culprit -- i cant remember at present but i beleive maybe it is the restore point the culprit is kept in the restore files. once the scan is complete and the little bugger is removed or id'd, by you or the scan then you have to reset the restore point. you maybe should do a search on net for virus in restore point or words to that effect but you should run the free scan -- i will also search and get back if i find anything ken

  5. Ash search the whole forum for joining mp3 files with Audacity -- i believe RonWil, Guido, and other members gave me instructions on how to do it -in the meantime - i will check my notes for the method if you find the thread please post the url in your reply ken my xp's search worked like a dream here is the thread -- as usual i got the names mixed up merge mp3's using soundforge or - audacity 19:08 5/28/03 new project import audio just open a mp3 file and then Click on EDIT and select all, then copy...close window, open a NEW file and paste, minimize that one, open another mp3 file, Edit select all, copy, close the window, open the new one your making or rather maximise and paste can do that as many times as you want Ken, Al is right, it's not so complicated! Try to do this way: 1) Open Audacity 2) Project > Import Audio 1 3) Project > Import Audio 2 4) Select <---> symbol (top left), and move forward the 2nd file. 5) Play to check if the effect is right. 6) If so, File > Export as Mp3 (or if you prefer as a Windows Wav). 08:58 7/14/03 Posted: Jul 13 2003, 10:23 AM http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...ct=ST&f=2&t=847 Lately, there's been lots of questions on how to create a slideshow with multiple songs. The show would hang when the song changed. There were some solutions given, but I was still confused after reading them. After fiddling around for a while, I stumbled onto the solution. Just thought I'd share it here...in very simple terms. Yes, you have to make all of the music tracks into one single track. To do this, download the free Audacity software. If you use mp3 tracks like I do, you'll also need to download the free LAME software. 1) Open up Audacity. 2) Under Project, import your music files. 3) Use the "time shift tool" to locate the end of track #1. 4) Use the "selection tool" to copy and paste track #2 . 5) Copy & paste the remaining tracks in the same way. 6) Export your combined single file. (mp3 needs LAME file) 7) Add this combined single file into your pic2exe slideshow. There might be a better way to do it, but this works. Try it. It's lots easier than I probably made it sound! ;-) Joyfully, -david soderman- <>< Alan Lyons Posted: Jul 14 2003, 07:20 AM David, Have a look at where the two tracks meet. I have not tried Audacity yet but there should be drag bars at both ends of a track, by playing with these you can create a crossfade over the two tracks which sounds much smoother than just laying them in train on the MP, Alan -------------------- Alan Lyons Dublin Ireland

  8. And to take the topic one step further - if people are not going to enter questions in the proper category, in about a week it be back to what is today. the oldtimers are entering in the 3 sectoons we have but the newbies are entering all the questions in the first section http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index....php?act=SF&f=2 avi questions should go to http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index....php?act=SF&f=4 comments on presentations to http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index....php?act=SF&f=3 until we use the 3 sections properly that we already have, another section is not going to help -- we have suggested the forum have more sections -- management have agreed -- but have yet to see them ken

  11. Denwell i am the process of having a new system built and going over some of the manuals ahead of time. if you go to http://www.atitech.ca/support/products/pc/...promanuals.html and read the ATI manual page 30 it describes the problem of edge sharpness. i suspect it applies to shows that are generated on the computer and then sent to the tv as well -- so i think the answer is to not have borders on frames close to the edge of the picture tube on tv -- so make picts bigger -- keep text away from edges and maybe the problem will be solved ken
  12. Chris direct link worked for me[in the colony} as well ken
  13. When the AVI feature came on the scene i suggested we use one thread to add tips to and was hoping Igor pin a section for tips -- needless to say it got lost in the upgrade things to do and he has never done it. 19. DENWELL try at full screen setting - then make the % setting between 90 and 95% -- you will have to experiment you get wavy vertical edges and by making pict full screen then reducing screen size it seems to solve the problem -- also helps if you change the background to one less contrasty if you are using white borders on the picts the sharpness box does not affect me -i use it all the time- it was discussed back last December think it was between Igor and Bart when using tmpgenc ken

    P2E

p2e is a nickname -- some of us use it for many purposes for example i might write to somebody that is familiar with the slang and tell them i am working on a p2e it means i am working on a show to take the p2e and pte discussion further, some anti virus programs will not pass exe's so to get around the problem some people when sending a small exe by email to somebody they will rename the exe in this example david.exe would be renamed to david.p2e with instructions in the letter to copy the paste the file out of the mail program to a folder and change the file david.p2e to david.exe to get it to work ken
