  1. Igor SUPERB work. Works absolutely smooth on my Pent 2.6GHz Radeon 9600TX. Thanks for a new P2Exec adventure. Phil
  2. Igor, Great new improvements as always.......next generation wishes: 1. light table 2. light table 3. light table pip
  3. Happy holidays and all the best in 2004 from Bad Kreuznach, Germany, and keep all those great PTE shows coming! PIP
  4. Ken, Yes you did, but thought there might be someone else that could at least confirm or refute our findings, guess not. Your 2 discs are in the mail, or better yet, just go to your favorite media store and ask for your free 50 DVD Christmas pack. Just tell'm pip sent ya! Happy Holidays... pip
  5. Asked this question once before but never heard anything. Is it possible to include the exe. file along with mpeg file on the same disc so the viewer can have both viewing options? If so what's the secret, have tried to do it with no success. pip
  6. Ken Thanks for the suggestion, but, looks like it's best to just keep the SCVD seperate from the exe. (two different discs) since the playback is hit or miss with a lot of machines anyway. pip
  7. Joy Just posted my findings, after a few days of trial and mostly error! It is correct, the avi must be converted to mpg before it can be read by your DVD player. Don't know Pinnacle, but it must be doing the converting. I must say, I burned a bunch of noisy, jittery shows with all of my tests before getting it right. You might want to give my method a try! PIP
  8. Ever since the days of the Kodak Picture CD and TV player, I've dreamed of having good quality, slide show viewing on the Tv. Until now, the quality has been unacceptable and not worth the trouble, not to mention the expense, to create a CD/DVD for the tube. Well I'm happy to proclaim, that the day is finally here. Naturally, it's not computer monitor quality, but it's something that is viewable without the severe eye strain that was inherant with previous attempts, and for the majority of the non critical viewers out there, it's a welcome change to those painful group showings huddled around the puter. Many thanks to Igor, one of the most dedicated, hard working, software genius' on the planet. He's developed a piece of software thats ready for prime time! So, here are my results: Working on a 2.6g, P4, 512ram, XP Downloaded and tested a dozen or more avi to mpg encoders and came to a simliar conclusion as others....TMPEnc was the ticket for me! My workflow: 1. Select the SVCD avi option from PTE 2. Open the resulting avi file in TMPEnc and convert to SVCD/mp2 (the Wizard will lead you thru) 3. Ready to Burn! I use Nero 5.5 4. Open Nero Express, choose Videos/Pictures SVCD from the pop up and gooooo! It also helps you create a classy looking menu as well. The resulting SVCD is excellent, even at close viewing..........haven't burned a DVD yet, but with the first class SVCD results, I know the DVD will really shine! (TMPEnc is one of the more expensive encoders, but I'm sure even better results could be expected if one explored the many options offered. I relied on the default setings and the first class results were at the top of my list!) Don't know what the problem with Ulead was, I just found that this other just worked so much better, and picture and sound quality were superior! Hope this saves others in the forum time and a lot of trial CD's......I burned a bunch!!! Also, tried and tried to put my PTE.exe file on the same CD with no success. Anybody know? Anyway, hope this is helpful PIP
  9. Granot, Pictures were taken within the past few months around Bad Kreuznach and along the Rhein river near Bingen, Germany.....all pics taken with Canon G2 and soundtrack was a mix of music and live sound recorded on a Minidisc recorder. Glad you enjoyed it...... Philip (Pip)
  10. Just posted my new show on Beechbrook, please have a look. First one with the new 4.0 PTE, and the best just keeps getting better......hats off to the most dedicated software team on the planet! Pip [url=http://beechbrook.com/pte/
  11. Michel & Igor Thanks for your endorsement of my "Dreaming of Spring" show. This was my first show with the new 4.0 version and all I can say is..... wow!!!!! Just keeps getting better........also, want to thank all the other PTE fans out there for their expertise, creativity and inspiration. So, if you haven't done so already, sit back, relax and enjoy my "Dreaming of Spring" show..........it won't be long now! Pip

    Sound

A quick introduction before I respond to the post. My name is pip and have been following the forum for many months now, however, this is my first post. I'm an avid picture taker/pte maker and was happy to have stumbled upon this great piece of software a year or so ago. Thanks to all that contribute such a wealth of knowledge to this forum. Now, it's my turn to give back with some of the knowledge that I have gleaned along the way! Paul Have been experimenting for a couple of years now with "live" sound for my shows. Almost as rewarding as making the images! I make my "audio pics" using a minidisc recorder with some special binaural mics and get excellant results recording all types of live sound, including street musicians which are a special favorite. These particular microphones are tiny and can be clipped almost anywhere and hidden for a totally candid recording session. Go to a minidisc site for all the info you'll need on gear, recording techniques etc. Once I've got my raw sound recording on minidisc, I bring it back to my computer audio mixing software, and equalize and mix tracks in wave; tons of possibilities! I think the the consenses here is that one continuous sound file is preferable to a bunch of individual ones. Tie all of your sounds, music ,etc. together here in the sound edit! Final step is to compress the final wav project to mp3 and you're ready to add the images. Usually easier and more professional to put your soundtrack together first and then sync the images to this! Hope this gives you a little more info and the inspiration to make your own soundbites! Any more questions or specifics ask away ? pip
