  2. Hi Al, I wonder if you or anyone can help : Once I have done all the procedure of getting PTE-5 Adjustor to work...and it seems to works OK until I get the error message : "Erreur d'exécution '9' : L'indice n'appartient pas à la sélection ", sorry this is in french but even, I do not know the meaning ! I looked into some forums but found no explanations nor solutions to get out this trap. From there I'm stuck : I cannot go further. Henri

    Music

Sorry to say that you can easily do what I said with Audacity : cut, truncate, smooth, modify...this is a very flexible and comprehensive tool. For what I understood Sylvia wanted to do this is a perfect tool. There is noneed to run into expensive ones. Regards, Henri

    Music

Hello Sylvia, welcome You need to ajust the length (duration) of both: slide show and music. If you need to cut the music length, use a tool as Audacity : Its here : http://audacity.sourceforge.net/, it is free and easy to use. Good luck, Henri
  7. Try SnICO at http://www.snidesoft.eu/ It is simple, free to use for non commercial and easy. H.lion
  8. Thank you Al, I apologize for not looking Thank you Igor, It worked fine !
  9. This question is certainly for Igor : Is there a way to run slideshows (*.exe) on a Smartphone running Windows mobile ? Thanks Henri

  13. Woow. Quel professionnalisme ! Une maitrise parfaite de PTE V5.7 et certainement de Photoshop mais quelle inspiration ! Quelle poésie ! Bravo. Henri
  14. I use CAMSTUDIO, it is free and does an excellent job, almost as Camstasia (which is more sophisticated indeed). http://www.camstudio.org/ I hope this helps. henri
  15. Earlier in this year 2006, there was an exhibition of paintings and sculptures of over 4 centuries, all from various museums of the city of FLORENCE (Firenze, Italy). This was a big opportunity and a beautiful delight for everyone who could not dream to go to Italy...and all others. It was permitted to take photos which is quite seldom but most of the artworks were encapsulated in glazing windows so it was quite difficult to take good photos. But I could not resist and I wanted to share my joy and happiness and decided to do a slide show. Enjoy and let me know if this was a good idea. It is there... http://www.beechbrook.com/pte/downloadfile.asp?id=1402
  16. Many thanks Malcolm, this was very helpful ! I jus got PE5 today and found evrything you mentioned. I want to compute the right amount of expansion I need between two captions of Google earth in order to do a Zoom : going from one image to the next with an almost perfect coincidence. If someone has a tuto on this, it will be most welcome. I know Jean-Pierre D has one but it is a little bit hard for me to understand and follow.
  17. Thanks. Can you be more specific please ? I am using the french version and do not see any tool which would help me to know the distance (in inches, cm or pixels) there is between two points.
  18. How can I measure the length between two points on a picture ? Is there a software which van easily do that ? With Photoshop Eleemnts ? Thanks
  19. On a little island in brittany, there was a race between cafes waitors...this led me to do a report in the form of a slideshow with all the possibilities allowed by PTE V5.7 The show is on Beechbrook : Course de Garçons de Cafés
  20. Hi everyone and congratulations for your activity on this Forum. I have been reading it for more than a year now with only one contribution (question) and I have now decided that I can fly on my own and show my first slideshow on Beechbrook. It is called "Variations on a single theme" and shows photos of a little house on the boarder of the sea in the Gulf of Morbihan in France. I have used V5 with P/Z/R and thebook action from TheDom (whom I thank here again). Now it's time to face criticisms and advises...so please.... http://www.beechbrook.com/pte/downloadfile.asp?id=1389
  21. I'd like to thanks those who helped me in making me understanding that they experienced no problems with video so far and that something was wrong (yes but what ?) with my project. So I went out of the square and redid my project...and to my big surprise, the video encoding went smooth and right. I had to strugle a bit with the white opaque rectangle which moved from top to bottom and was not in the right place at once but at the second run. First Project screen sho shows what I was not happy with : the big mess with logos and red dots lying out of places ! The New Project First attempt screen shot shows that I was nearly there except the white opaque rectangle which was too far right ! The New Project Second attempt screen shot shows that now it was right : red dots, logos and white rectangle were well positionned...as they are on the slide show. I have no explanation of what went wrong and on what I did wrong. Thanks again for your help. 22. Since my previous post I did thought that the problem I had to struggle with lied in the fact that I was using a Main slide plus 17 added logos(jpg images) and 17 added red dots (png images) which PTE had to load in while running. What the encoding process is doing, I think, is to record 25 images per sec and these images are taken during the process of loading the Main + 2 x17 added images plus the moving white screen...hence the random result ! Since none of the 17 added logos needed to move, I added them with Photoshop on my main image and on my PTE show I only added the 17 red dots and made them move from start to end positions while moving down the screen to uncover each logo one after the other. ....and it works fine ! The video is exactly as I wanted and as the slide show !!! I do think that I was asking too much from the encoding process. Well, as you see, I am not an expert in video encoding but I did made some progress. If someone has any clue on the encoding process and how to compute the timing in oder to avoid to have too many things to do in a given period of time, I would be glad to understand it better. H. 23. - I am using V5.5 full version (not trial) - I am adding 4 images in order to better try to explain what I am struggling for : * Red Dots Start shows 13 red dots, each associated with one logo (the name of cafés) * Red Dots final shows the positions of these dots on an itinerary (this to illustrate the race between cafes waiters) Between these two, a white opaque screen masks all logos and moves from top to bottom and each time a logo is revealed, the red dot moves from starting to ending position. The whole thing lasts 50 sec. Each red dot moves for 1 sec. * Video Screen 01 shows the starting video image : here one already can see that the logos are not in the right positions * Video Screen 02 shows the the last video image : here only three out of the 17 dots are about rightly positionned, all others went "out of screen" Well, I tried encoding with every possible option and must say that only HD-1080 is working OK but I understand that this (new) format can not be read by every video player ? I also tried to lengthen the duration of the slide to 3 min (and lengthen the duration of each red dot movement to 2 sec instead of 1 sec) but this did not help. I have also used either Ulead or TMPGenc with the same poor result. I hope this is decribes the problem well enough, if not I could send .pte (and exe) full show. Thanks for your help. Henri Lion
  24. I am struggling with the choice of video format since none of CD or DVD that I burned did play right on the DVD player ! In the example attached, none of the red dots would move between starting en ending positions. Are the movements too fast ? I have tried to extend from 5à sec to 3 min without any improvement. Does anyone have any suggestion ? Rgds, H.Lion P.S . I am not authorised to upload the .pte file, How can I do it ?
