  1. Man, you guys are obsessed with Proshow for whatever reason. And you know there is false info about both Proshow and P2E floating around out there. That message is months old. How much time do you spend reading the Proshow forum and then emailing people over their since you no longer post there ? And to think you call me a Proshow 'Fanboy' that drinks the coolaid. Seems your no different except in your choice of coolaid. LOL. Anyways, if you want to see false info then look no further than at Igors press release for version 5. It states a couple of things that aren't quite true. For example, it says something about slideshow made with P2E 5 will run on ANY computer. Thats just not true...at least ones utilitizing pan/zoom. It takes the right hardware and that hardware needs to be pretty beefy or you do not get those 'butter' smooth motions if it runs at all. He also makes not about P2E 5D being the only affordable slideshow maker to make DVD's with. Thats not true either as there are several in this price range. Maybe not as feature rich, but it didn't state that, which it probally should have. Ok. I know I am being picky with the press release so dont beat me up too bad. But before you do please know that I have mentioned several times recently that I think when it comes to EXE shows (not DVD) that P2E is the one to use. If Proshow ever gets hardware rendering then I may have to issue a retraction. Seriously though, this reply is intended to poke at you a little Lin since we haven't argued in awhile. And to prove I have no ill intentions or feeling about P2E I recenlty purchased the upgrade to the deluxe version but dont tell anyone. :0 Later guys and remember....be gentle with me. Jason
  2. Oh, I thought you were gonna say you slipped and fell on all of that snow you got. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Have a good one, Jason
  3. I've burned a couple of DVD+R shows via the DVD Builder and they have played just fine on both my TV and PC. JE
  4. Bill, You will need to use some kind of DVD authoring program to convert that AVI file to a DVD complaint file that your DVD player can read. I use Movie Factory 5 for this, but there are plenty to choose from. Jason
  5. Hey Lin, No problem. Thats one of those things thats not documented well and lots of people over look. Later Jason
  6. Lin, The way to get Proshow to apply the same motion effect to several slides goes like this. Set the movement you want with 1 slide. Then highlight each slide you want that same motion effect for by holding down the shift key and selecting each slide. Then on the slide that you have set up the motion effect right click in the text box that represents the value you want applied to the other slides. The right click will bring up a menu that gives you the option to apply that value to 'All Slides' or 'Selected Slides'. And thats it. That also works for most settings that can be applied to a slide. Jason
  7. Wow, what a nice piece of work. I bet that took some time to do...or should I say it would have taken me some time to do. Nice work Jason
  8. Al, Thats exactly how I read it. 2 post and mine being the 2nd one. It is hard to sometimes interpret a message correctly in a forum. Before I posted my reply I read my original post several times along with Lin's reply and I couldn't figure out what I had done wrong. As it turned out the only thing I did wrong was read too much into it. Jason Lin, Thanks for understanding. Jason
  9. Well, dont I feel like the rear end of a horse. I guess from our past crossing I thought you where taking jabs at me. I'm sorry I assumed that. Please forgive me. Jason
  10. I removed my mistake and gave my apology to Lin Jason
  11. If its just a matter of sharing a show to be sharing a show on a forum or website with a general audience then just create a nice high quality video file. I myself will not download and run a PTE EXE or any other EXE from someone I do not know. However, after awhile on any forum you start to learn who you can trust. However, like Al said, if your making a show for a client/friend/family member then there should be no problems here. You have to use good judgement when downloading and running EXE's. JE
  12. For me its security/safety. It would be extremely easy to include a virus or other harmfull code with a PTE slideshow with it having the ability to run external code. Given a choice of downloading and running an EXE file versus downloading/streaming a video file I will take the video file 100% of the time. Sure the quality is not as nice, but its safer, especially since you dont know who you can trust on the net. Thats my take anyways. Jason
  13. Lin, Thats a nice improvement to an already nice effect. It does add a bit of realism to the curtains. Good suggestion Al. Jason
  14. Hey, Actually, lurking is what I am doing. I only replied because I say my real name in your message and thought wow I must be a jerk...LOL. Your right, the competition is great for all of us regardless of what program we use. Well, you will not see more of me over here. I'm not converting. I just like to see whats new and improved with the different programs as I own many. And I'm surely not here to start trouble either as this is P2E's forum and I would never do that. Version 3 of Proshow is being worked on and thats will I will spend the majority of my time. I will continue to check in here and play with the new betas as they become available. Thanks for being nice Jason
  15. I double dare you !! Please do. I look forward to viewing it like I have the rest of Lins shows. Just for the record I have nothing against P2E, I just prefer Proshow and I am a big supporter of it just as you guys are of P2E. However, I like to keep up with whats new and exciting in other programs. From what I have seen so far with P2E v5 is that its going to continue to be an excellent tool to work with. And once its ready for primetime it will be in my toolbox. I did have problems running some shows on one of my older machines, but my newer machine runs the demo shows created by Lin and others very well. I started making slideshows using P2E and I still use it from time to time. I also use MOTV 3. Have a great day guys and yes Lin, please post a link as I have always enjoyed your photography skills. Jason
